Has anyone noticed that Sam appeared in Twilight as well as New Moon?
Also after reading the last chapter of New Moon and how Jacob said that Edward only had to bite a human to have broken the treaty, not kill them, I decided to go back to Twilight and reread it in a deeper sense.

I realized that the treaty seems to already have been broken. Here's how it was broken

1. Werewolves on Cullen territory.
2. Billy kept "warning" Charlie about the Cullens and how they werent good for Bella.
3. Sam said that the Cullens werent allowed on their land.
4. Jacob told Bella the entire story, which was the major part of the treaty. So long as the "cold ones" hunted animals and left the humans alone, they'd keep their secret. But Jacob told Bella, who is, inevitably, a human, and despite the fact that, at that time, he was human, it was still a part of the treaty nonetheless.

So in all actuallity, Edward could change Bella right here and now with no reprocussions, since the treaty's been broken for over a year.

So lets discuss theories for what will happen concerning the treaty between the wolves and vampires, shall we?

The treaty has been broken for awhile you are right, and both sides know that it was broken already, yet neither side wants to admit it.

I think Edward will try to keep his promise to Bella but I think that something will happen and it wont be as easy as it should be for him to keep his promise. Wether they are being chased by the volturi or werewolves. Things will not be easy for them.

And as for the treaty I really dont know.

Alright. Being dubbed a "b***h" by a unnamed user, I'm going to begin to show my true colors.

One: I think Jacob is a lying SOB. He knew the legends and knew he wasn't supposed to be blabbering them

Two: Edward's been useless so far. The only thing he's done so far right was leave her for a chance to breathe, but he didn't eve ndo that right.

Three: None of the Cullens are saints. I don't know why everyone keeps saying "Oh Edward change her, make her one of you *faint*". You are all morons. If you read the actual text, you would visably see that Edward is not going to out of the blue change her, because if he did, she would already be a bloody vampire.

Four: The Volturi are stronger than the Cullens, I don't care how strong you think Edward and Emmett are. THERE.ARE.MORE.OF.THEM. PERIOD.

I, in all honesty, believe Edwards going to kill Bella in the end. make it a hunch, but there's way too much s**t stacked against her that it most probabally will happen. Vampires, trackers, Cullens, Denali, Volturi, rabid crashes, werewolves, angry friend.

I mean, come on. SOMETHING's eventually gonna get her

On the theory of the treaty loop-hole, I think since both sides have previously broken the treaty, they will ignore those and leave the reinforcements for the later offenses. It would be a travesty to try to reinforce the former offenses being that there were special circumstances surrounding the actions.

In response to Kokoro Tessa, your points are somewhat valid. If you read deeper for subliminal symbols, there are ways in which Edward has been instrumental and to disprove your theory of him killing Bella.
One: Bella was pouring on the charm when she bugged Jacob for information. One of the biggest plot lines in all of fiction is the fact that when a pretty girl is put to a common guy (whom is unaccustomed to such attention), he will spill all of the information regardless of the status in which it falls. M Butterfly is one such plot.
Two: Edward plays an integral role in the development of Bella and Jacob. Bella thinks less of herself for every place she is. Edward's first rejection of Bella was a huge gulf for her to overcome and her first experience of the blood-lust that would later pose a problem in the end of the book. When he finally admits to her what she does to him, she finds ways to accomodate him to facilitate their relationship. The fact that Jacob first warns her prepares the readers for further depth in the relationship and possible contention on both planes of the plot. Once again, a classic story plot.
Three: The fact that the Cullens are seen as saints is that they live a lifestyle that allows them to preserve the balance of human life and vampires. It also allows them to be beneficial to society instead of being recluses. Bella has a gift that would be useful in the vampiric world. She is seen as a bridge. Edward is being very strategic about turning her. In a way, his method of talking her out of turning is relative to when a man respects a woman enough to wait until marriage for sex. The proof for this is in the fact that he
* asks her to marry him* before he changes her.
Four: The idea of the few overwhelming the strong is metonical to the battle of Thermopylae in which the Persians, which numbered 20, 000 to 2 million, were defeated by Spartans, which numbered about 300, without the various allies, which made up ~ 13, 000. It is just a normal plot twist.
Your last point is quite well founded in the superficial levels, but you forget that this is fiction with an optimistic turn and a plot scheme that is founded on the Grimm's fairy tale stage in which all ends well. It is true that there are many agents of evil after Bella for their individual reasons, but there are also the Cullens to go through. If all goes according to the plot scheme that Mrs. Meyer has given, Bella will be changed and her gift will be the undoing of all of those who hunt her. This was revealed by Marcus of the Volturi in New Moon when he said that she'd be a great asset.

Alright I'm lead to believe that Koko has somewhat of a point.

I mean, come on. If you recall the part when Bella told Alice he was at the Volturi, you could clearly see that she was afraid for her brother.

The Volturi are also made of the strongest of their kind, therefore, we assume they are the strongest group, especially since its stated that the Volturi have yet to loose a battle since the addition of one, Jane.

Im also lead to believe that the treaty's going to be rewrote somehow, whether its by the vampires or the werewolves, who knows.

And, I also believe that Bella will be immune to the call of blood, ever since the chapter Blood Testing

I have to agree with lemoura one hudred percent here.
You basically said most of what I wanted to say, and then some :]

But I also agree with you, Alice, when you say the treaty will most likely be rewritten somehow. Also, I do believe Jane is a vert strong asset to the Volturi. But that's why it also seems to crucial that Bella be changed; if she is, she won't be affected by most vampires' abilities, as long as it concerns her mind.

For the "Blood Type" chapter...you make an interesting point. But I don't know about it. A vampire immune to bloodlust (wait---where have I heard that before)? That's an interesting claim. But I don't think it'll happen, mostly because it seems a bit farfetched but also because Stephenie said she had only included that chapter because it was based off personal experience. She insists that it has nothing special to do with Bella's future power as a vampire (if she ever becomes one), so I'm guessing it won't affect her life as a vampire either.

You know what? Me being of a morbid and unhappy mind, I think it's NOT going to work out between Bella and Edward and that she's gonna end up joining the Volturi. She's gonna get ticked off by Jake and that friend ship (Witch I think was doomed from the start mind you) will dismantle. She might remain in good terms with the Cullens however, but then again maybe not. And to climax it all, teh treaty will be changed because of her. So now if the human sincerely CHOOSES to become a vampire and join the CUllens he or she can be changed, but only after swearing many many probably complex oaths that explisitly prohibit them from feeding on a human under any sircimstance.
