Snow is so beautiful. I never heard of it or seen it but I just know 'snow' suits it so perfectly.
Katsumi kept a warm smile on her glossy face as she astoundingly watched small little puffs flow down onto the ground gently. She sat under a large tree in the now snow white forest, the large leaves hanging from the branches covering her body from being infected with the snow. There was no sun today which just made Katsumi feel a bit uneasy. The sun was always something that made her much happier. When it was gone she just felt disconnected in some way. It made her uneasy.
Her brother Kazuki was back home near the beach. The sand there was blanketed with cold snow but inside her shack there was warmth. She loved that warmth. Why was she even here if she loved warmth? This was her first time ever seeing this snow and she didn't want to miss a moment of it. There was just a wish that it wasn't so cold here.

Cold. Cold. Cold. Far too cold for his liking. Watanuki stepped carefully through the white stuff that now coated the ground. He didn't know why he tried taking such care in his steps when it was unavoidable to step in the snow.
Where was all the green? He couldn't help but wonder. He had never heard of or seen snow before, and it confused him greatly when the white flakes began drifting down from the sky.
Sighing, he continued walking through the forest, seeking somewhere warm to stay until the cold went away.

She made a small sigh, noticing a cold puff appear a few inches from her mouth. It disappeared as it came and she wondered where it came from? Sighing again the puff made itself visible. So it was her breath, becoming visible from the chilling cold air around them. How interesting. Air became seen at this time?
Blinking she noticed the snow started to pile up less and less. The snowfall would soon halt, but for now she could enjoy it. For some reason the snow just made her know that perhaps everything was fine in the world. Why was it fine? Not even she knew, but the snow somehow prophesied this in its white coat.

Continuing through the forest, Watanuki was growing increasingly annoyed with the snow. It was cold and made his paws colder with each step, not to mention that it made his paws wet. Cold and wet. That wasn't the best combination, in his mind.
"Why don't you just go away?" Watanuki hollered up at the gray sky. "I want the warmth back now." Silence followed, and he sighed. Did he really expect the snow to listen to him? He started on his way again.

Katsumi's eyes looked up at the gray sky, snow flakes still glided from their shadows. She had heard a voice just scream up at the same depressed floaters, and wondered who it was. It was a familiar ring in her delicate ears, but she could not place her finger on who it was exactly.
She sighed again, watching another puff disappear in front of her eyes. The person that screamed was wrong. Snow was beautiful yet somehow longing. It was love in her eyes and she wanted it to stay for as long as it could. After all the spring would then come and she would find no interest in it.

After walking some more through the forest, Watanuki halted as he spotted something that wasn't white like the snow or brown like the bark of the trees. It was something green! Green that reminded him of spring time. He bounded over to it, no longer paying attention to the cold or wetness.
"Hello!" he called out to the green one.

Katsumi's head slushed down from her view of the sky and looked at a red figure on the other side of the middle forest. She might have recognized him but her nose was clogged up from the cold winter air. It was hard enough to breathe.
"Oh hello there," she replied more quietly, making a happy smile that someone else was here with her besides the snow.

Watanuki finished making his way over to the green female Shikoku. "What are you doing out here on such a cold day?" he asked as he reached her.
It didn't hit him right away, but after a moment, he realized he recognized her. The name was on the tip his tongue, and he had to think hard to remember it after so long.
"Katsumi!" he cried when he remembered her name.

Katsumi blinked at the red and white male. Either the snow was fogging her memories or she was just plain stupid. He knew her name so they did meet but where? She felt so dumb because she couldn't plow through her memories to figure out who the male in front of her was. Eyes shut tight, going through months of memories to who she was in front of. Her eyes reopened in surprise finding the name to the male.
"Watanuki," she simply said, trying to dig up her excitement. Her mind still felt discombobulated after saying his name at last, "it's been so long, hasn't it?"

"A long while," Watanuki agreed, grinning happily to see she remembered who he was. "How have you been all this time?" He blinked as he recalled his first question. "What are you doing out here? It's so cold. You might get sick if you stay out here for too long."

"My younger brother and I have been fine," she calmly said, watching more little puffs emerging from her lips and vanishing. "I'm here watching the snow. It's cold but it's so beautiful," she made a small smile watching more snow befall the land, "it lifts my spirits up."
That's when she realized she didn't even consider getting sick from the snow. It was her first time ever seeing it so she didn't think that it could cause her ailment. She chuckled heartily and sighed. "In all honesty I didn't even know I could get sick."

Watanuki looked up at the falling snow. To him, it wasn't all that beautiful, though he hadn't been thinking of it like that. He only saw the snow as a cold, wet nuisance.
"Wouldn't you rather watch from someplace warm then?" he questioned, turning his gaze back to Katsumi. It didn't occur to him to worry about how his younger sister might be fairing in the chilly weather.

"Oh I would watch from my home," she started, but then paused, looking back at the gray skies flakes, "but near the beach it doesn't snow as much. Plus is much more colder because we're near the water."
She sighed a bit and shifted her face between happiness and distraught. Flakes fell more fluidly around her paws but her body was untouched by the pure beauty.

He could see the problem with that, though he still didn't see the fun in watching the snow fall. Watanuki would much rather be some place warm and far away from the snow fall.
"Perhaps we can find a better place for you to watch the snow," he suggested. "Some place where you won't risk illness from the cold."
