-PHASE 5: Orb issues its official accusation against the EA. The EA, receiving the news, sends out their head Richard to issue their declaration of innocence, which is true.

Sword of Kira Yamato
personally speaking, i don't think it matters the actual order of the scenes as long as we get everything in. however, we do have to decide which scenes to go next if the scene has more than one person.

here are all the different scenes:

kira and cagalli
miriallia
ZAFT crew
ryoku and tarren (easier)
kairynn
lacus and the PLANTs (aka meyrin, maybe sub shiho in too; wanna play all of them lacus? it would be easier)
EAF (henderson)
daniel and ciel
ORB mwu, murrue and andrew
absolute zero
athrun
audrina

bold are ones that have more than one person in the scene

"Is everything all set and ready to go?"
"Yes, sir."
"The sound system is fired up and has been tested?"
"Yes, sir."
"How's the lighting?"
"Working fine, sir."
"The cameras?"
"Crew all ready and waiting for queue."
"And the speaker?"
"Er...I'm not quite sure, sir."
"What do you mean?"
"Uhm, I'll just go and find out for myself."
The senior male stood with his head shaking from side to side with a smirk on his face as the young lad ran off to find the mentioned person. "Amateurs."

Another young male sat quietly in his office with an open folder in one hand, which he was reading, and another closed folder in his other hand. His dark eyes scanned across the endless words printed across the papers in the folder. Every couple of minutes he would give a light jerk of his head to keep his grey fringes off his eyes. It often irritated him when he had to do that every minute of his time when he's trying to read important document and neither one of his hands were free. Not to mention that it was an often reminder of his housekeeper nagging him to get a hair cut. He frowned at the thought. How could he possibly take the time to get a lousy hair cut when there were more important things to take care of?

"Ugh, fine! I'll get the stupid haircut!" He shouted suddenly to the empty room. For the hundreth time his hair had fallen into his face and it was more frustrating than having to listen to his housekeeper nag. "Darn it! Now I've lost my place." He sighed and slouched in the chair he was seated in behind his desk. He threw the folders back on his desk just as he heard a knock on the door. "Come in."

"Uh, sir, Mr. Buren, sir." The young man from the event coordinating crew had stuck his head through the door. "It's almost noon."

The said person sat behind his desk with his eyebrow raised looking at the boy behind the door that probably wasn't but a few months younger than him. Why the heck is he calling me sir? He sat up in his chair and pushed himself up onto his feet. "Oh, well I guess it's time for me to make that urgent public announcement." He walked out the office and headed towards the media room of the conference building with the lad tagging behind him.

Shoji Buren, age eighteen, was the youngest from a noble family to be apart of the United Emirates of Orb at the moment. It was possible for him to be in such a position since both his parents were deceased and Chief Representative Attha had approved of it. After all, she became leader of the country at the very same age. Though, he didn't like to compare himself to her. He hadn't accomplish nearly half the stuff she had been able to. She was quite an extroardinary person, he would often say to others when talking on the subject. He was highly honored that she was the one who had personally seeked him to be apart of the Orb Legislature.

"Uh, excuse me, sir?"

Shoji stopped in his tracks. He looked at the guy who was half a step behind him with a stunned expression upon his face. His thought was so focused on the Representative that he didn't even noticed his surroundings. "Yes?" He said after regaining his composure.

"Yes, you'll be making your announcement on that stage over there." He pointed to a stage far off on the other side of the media room.

"Yeah, thanks." Shoji said with a nodd.

"Are you sure this is wise young man?"

Shoji looked around to find the senior coordinating advisor standing behind him. "Of course this is. Someone has to bring this to the public's attention."

The man stared down at him hard. "Is the Representative okay with this?"

Shoji looked away. "Well, it was actually something that the council agreed upon a day before the Representative arrived in Orb. But its not like I'm doing something I shouldn't be doing."

"But the impact this will have on the citizens, not only of this country but of others."

"I know, that's why this is really important." Shoji said in almost a whine. "Besides, I think that the only thing that you should be concerned of is that this broadcast gets out okay."

The older man looked down at him with a look of disappointment. "If you say so." He turned to continue on with his duty.

"Oh, and make sure that this broadcast especially makes it to within the borders of the Atlantic Federation." Shoji said with his back to the man before walking off to the stage.

"Will do."

Kira remained patient as the ORB landing crew did their best to go through proper procedures. By now though, he felt that there wasn't much need to; they all knew who he was. Despite being in ZAFT now and a citizen of the PLANTs, he was still an original civilian of ORB who just happened to be a sibling to the Representative.

After successfully docking the Strike Freedom in its usual hanger, Kira stepped out of the cockpit and made his way down to the ground. The landing crew gave him salutes and he saluted them back as he walked by them, making his way to the gate. He knew Cagalli would be waiting for him there.

Cagalli stood at an observation window, watching as Kira landed. Unable to sit and wait for her brother as he made his way over, she pushed open the door and came out to meet him.

"Kira!" she exclaimed and went over to stand in front of him. "Thank you for coming... these past few days have been so stressful!" she sighed. "I could use some support." She grabbed him by the arm and led him back into the passageway, which led to the main facilities. "There are some things that are being discussed right now and I don't understand what is going on. Council members have been avoiding me, and I have no idea why. I'm going to need your help..."

She stopped. Had she just seen some members of the Council rush past her? They all appeared to be dressed for a conference, but she didn't have one scheduled until tomorrow morning...

Kira greeted Cagalli with smile, but frowned as he noticed her distraction. He allowed her to lead him down the hall, noticing her getting more concerned as they went. Passing by two people in ORB uniforms wandering down the hallway, he overheard their conversation:

"Yeah...they're holding a press conference about it right now..."

"Hey, isn't that the Representative?"

"Yeah! What's she doing down here...?"

"Who knows... anyways you wanna go and see....?"

Kira paused and turned to face Cagalli. "We'd better go to the public viewing room right now." he told her, knowing she wouldn't have scheduled a press conference for any reason without being there.

Cagalli stared incredulously in front of her before snapping back into reality.

"I never...I didn't call a press conference!" she told Kira adamently. Seeing that he already understood that, she dragged him along faster until he quickened his pace. She let go of him and continued walking at as fast of a speed as she could while remaining dignified.

"We're going alright." She said angrily. "Whoever is holding that conference is going to regret they ever did it without consulting me!"

As they rounded a corner, Cagalli's brain began to think hard an fast. What on earth would the Council call a conference for, especially without her approval? It certainly wasn't the new Oceanic Republic trade they had just signed, controversial as it was. If it were that then she would have received an official complaint from the new nation by now...

"Oh no..." she whispered out loud. "It must be.... about me."

Knowing Kira had heard her, the two of them took off down the hallway.

"Everything is set to begin in one minute, sir."

"Excellent." Shoji took his place behind the podium on stage. He straightened his clothes and swept his hair to the side in order to make himself appear more presentable. Since his arrival, other ORb officials and soldiers had entered the room and began filling up the seats. It was quite a few in fact. He knew something like this wasn't going to stay a secret for too long and it worried him a bit. If word was spreading like it was then it wouldn't be long before the Representative would find out and the last thing he wanted was for her to interrupt his speech, especially since he was doing this for her.

"Sir, you have twenty seconds." The camera director said.

Shoji nodded at him and took a deep breath as he closed his eyes to block out the other dozen eyes that were staring at him. You are doing the right thing, Shoji. In the long run this will all work out. He thought to himself.

"Ten seconds in counting. Nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...three...two..."

Shoji opened his eyes and saw as the camera director held up one finger and the red light flashed on at the very instant. He opened his mouth and began speaking to the world.

"This is an urgent message from the United Emirates of Orb to all who wishes to receive it.
My name is Shoji Buren of the noble Buren family. I am known as the youngest of the Emirs and am the one given responsiblity to broadcast this message. Not too long ago, our Chief Representative Cagalli Yula Attha was targeted while on a private visit to the PLANTs in the company of current Chairwoman Lacus Clyne by an unknowned suspect. It was broadcasted to the world about the devastating situation that had occured that day with little, if any, evidence as to who may have been behind the attempted assasination.
Our military investigators, with some supportive help from ZAFT, has been secretly examining the area and any clues that may lead to the culprit and have been directly reporting them to the elite council of the legislature here in Orb."

Shoji paused for a moment and lowered his eyes away from the camera for a second. When he looked up he caught a few glances from some of the higher positioned Emirs that gave him the sense that they were really going to enjoy the next portion of the speech. He gave a slight nod and looked back towards the camera.

"It didn't take us long to trace back to the source; however, we are only just coming to the point of releasing this information out to the public. Why, only just now you ask? Well, we've asked ourselves that question as well along with other questions that popped up once we've found the culprit.
What was his motive?
What did he have to gain from this?
Who was his supplier?
Was he alone in this?
And most importantly, if he did belong with a group or an organization, who was head of operations?

These were questions we had to solve before we were to release any further information. You see, why take the slice when you can have the whole cake? What use was one culprit to us when the person who we should really be concerned about is the one who took charge of the whole ordeal.
The culprit, who shall remain un-named, was discovered to be a ranking officer of the Atlantic Federation. We found the rank insignia of their uniform caught in the bushes of the area not too far from where the Representative was nearly killed herself. Yes, this may sound shocking to you, but after all it is a known factor that Orb and the Atlantic Federation don't have long-time good standings with one another. Proof being under the many circumstances that this nation has been through during the past two wars because of the influence of such a nation as the Federation. And as leader of such a nation, Richard Henderson is obligated to present himself to the leaders of Orb and explain his reasoning for such an act. If none is given and should the Federation consider another path of action, Orb will see to it that your nation, most importantly, your leader will be put under judgement by the United Emirates of Orb. We do not take it lightly when one of our leaders, our government, our nation is being threatened. Let this be a warning to all other nations who hear this. This is our first, last, and only warning to the Atlantic Federation. Most importantly, to Richard Henderson."

Shoji stared long and hard into the camera. As he remained silent he heard chatter erupt in the audience. He felt quite satisfied with himself for delivering such an important message that left quite an impact on at least the visible people seated right before him. He waited as the red light flashed off letting him know that the broadcast has been cut. He took a deep breath and lowered himself from the stage and headed for the exit as fast as he could. He was told not to give any more information than he needed to if anyone were to come up to him and ask him to further on his message, so he tried to get as far away from anyone as fast as he could before someone could stop him to ask him anything.

----------

Lacus sat in her indoor suite, wearing a casual, comfy, pink satin dress. The room was surrounded by small potted plants, and had a square of couches around a fireplace. Above the mantlepiece was a large screen that displayed the current station she was watching. She had just come out of a meeting with the Council, who had explained to her their concerns of conflicts between the Earth nations. She understood that these things were happening, and she felt helpless towards them, since she was not the leader of their nation. However, she was scheduled to make a public announcement herself to bring messages of inspiration and peacable acts within the week, where she hoped to subdue any worried and angry minds.

The Chairwoman had a concerned look on her face as she watched the international newstation's broadcast. She sighed against the cushions as she listened to the words of Shoji Buren.

"Why would Cagalli approve of this?" She wondered outloud.

"Haro Haro! Shut up! Shut up!" Her haro rolled around at her feet, then bounced onto the cushion beside her.

"Oh Mr. Pink..." She said with a half-smile. "You are right though, he should not have said anything of the sorts. It isn't like ORB to throw out accusations at anyone." She looked up again at the wide screen prodding out of her wall. She realised how much she missed Kira whenever he left to visit ORB. "I returned to ORB safely! And when he contacts me, I'd like to know what is really happening with Cagalli's Council..."

Meyrin Hawke sat in the recreation room of the ZAFT Headquarters Facilities Building. She was still wearing her uniform, however her documents had been laid on the table beside her and she was busy slurping a soda. She was one of the few in the room sitting by the television. Almost everyone else were men busy working out on exercise machines or chatting by the vendors. Leaned back against the chair and looked at the screen, which flashed with the press conference given out by ORB. She was in shock.

"ORB? Accusing the Earth Atlantic Federation?" she exclaimed to no one in particular. "I understand where it is coming from and there is proof against them, but the way he's saying it...." She indicated towards Shoji on the screen. "It sounds like he wants another war....after we've already had two!"

Her thoughts drifted to her sister. Was Luna watching this from the Oceanic Republic down on Earth? What would she think about all of this? And would she be reassigned to help ORB?

She felt someone come up behind her to rest against her chair. She turned to see Shiho Hahnenfuss, an ace pilot that was well known for her research on beam weapon systems and later her contributions to the well-praised Joule Team in the Bloody Valentine Wars. She was now stationed back at Headquarters, working on a new crystal laser technology to add to the new beam canons. The two had become mutual friends, as their departments were right next to one another in the facilities.

Meyrin turned back to the broadcast. "This person, Shoji, seems to speak for everyone on the Council. But I know Cagalli...and she wouldn't have told them to make this kind of statement. She's not one to point a finger at anyone." She frowned. "This could mean trouble for everyone."

Shiho smiled at Meyrin, though she didn't say a word. She just turned her head up and stared silently at the screen as the announcement was made. There were many thoughts going through her mind at the moment. She knew the gravity of this accusation, and what type of reaction would result from it. It definitely wasn't a smart move for ORB to make.

She looked down at the ground, realising that Yzak and Dearka were now on Earth, on a mission that Yzak refused to tell her about. Dearka merely winked at her when she asked. Whatever the consequences, they would be affected by any conflicts more than the PLANTs. Possibly, the PLANTs may never even be brought into the fight...after all, there were no accusing hands being pointed towards them. The Council at ORB probably did suspect ZAFT at first...it was a natural reaction, but they knew logically that the PLANTs would never put their own Chairwoman in danger. Besides, with the established peace treaties between ORB and the PLANTs, as well as the friendship between the two leaders, the PLANTS were ruled out as a suspect in the shooting entirely. That only left the Atlantic Federation and the Oceanic Republic. No other small Earth nation would have the power or skills needed to carry out such an action.

Everything was just getting too confusing... Shiho thought to herself, closing her eyes. Maybe, if she left them closed for long enough, the world would be able to solve this problem before anything else goes wrong.

Andrew leaned against the wall of his hallway, phone pressed to his ear. He wanted to see whether they had heard the news too... probably. It was being broadcasted across all networks.

"Even if you don't fight with a gun, it is still a hostile action." he muttered as the ORB Emir proclaimed judgement against the Atlantic Federation.

He heard the click of the phone being picked up on the other line. "Hey," he said, "are you watching it ?"

Murrue smiled grimly at Andrew's voice. "Yes... we are." she replied. She glanced at the television. Mwu was sitting at the kitchen table, staring across the counter at the screen. He turned to look at her.

"'S that Waltfeld?" he asked.

Murrue nodded, not asking back how he knew. "Yes. He's also watching the broadcast."

Mwu tilted his head back slightly to look at her over his shoulder. "Ask him if the PLANTs are enraged that they aren't being accused."

Murrue shook her head, resisting to smile at his joke. She pursed her lips at him, then said to the telephone "Mwu is being his usual self. Regardless though, this is a serious matter. This accusation may escalate into more fighting, which is exactly what the shooter would have wanted." she paused and heard no answer on the other line. "What are you thinking?"
PostPosted: Sat May 12, 2007 7:48 pm

Andrew's response was with a hardened voice. "There will be another war with this. We all know that the Atlantic Federation doesn't take accusations lightly, especially with something against the public such as this." He glanced one more time at his television, then flipped it off. "It's depressing to watch."

"I guessed that much." Murrue replied. "We all had our suspicions already even right after the shooting when Cagalli was in the hospital."

"Guessed what?" Mwu asked. He was watching as camera flashes passed through the screen. "This Shoji Buren... he's young, yet, he seems responsible. Dunno what possessed him to make that speech though."

"A possible war." she told Mwu. "And I've heard many things about the Buren. Responsible as he may be, that was a reckless move he and the Council just made. I doubt Cagalli was the one who authorized it." She then returned to the conversation with Andrew. "Perhaps we'll discuss it later, when you visit, with Kira."
