As a canadian what happens in the states directly effects my country because the US is our largest trading partner. I would vote for Kerry even if he is a protectionist and wont open up the border to canadian beef anytime soon, just because Bush is currently doing alot more harmful things to our country as is.
1. Missle defense program which will shoot down incoming ICBM's before they strike the states. To bad they will be shot down over canada and explode on us huh? I guess the message here is our lives are not worth as much as american lives.
2. The current softwood lumber dispute (Lumber IV) commenced in April of 2001. Since May 22, 2002 most Canadian softwood lumber exported to the US is subject to a 27% duty collected by US Customs. The duty collected is a combination of a countervailing duty of 18.79% and an average anti-dumping duty of 8.43%. (

3. Bush's refusal to shake the hand of our prime minister at the last WTO meeting in Canada. He seems to have had all the time in the world to shake the bell boys hand but not our prime ministers hand. What message does this send canadians? That Bush has more respect for a bell boy then he has for the leader of his largest trading partner.
4. When the power crisis hit the eastern US where was the blame shifted before any investigations were done? Thats right Canada, it seems that ever since Bush took power it becomes more effective to assign blame to Canada then it is to actually try to find the route of the problem (which was actually an outdated electrical grid in the US grid, a problem in northern Ihio caused a massive powersurge, that caused a voltage drop which lead to the collapse of the system and a blackout.)
5. Comments like Canada did not offer support on the War on Terror also irk me to no belief. Canada when the United States was struck was the
first nation to offer support to the United States. Canadian families took thousands of stranded american travellers into our homes and let them stay with us for up to 2 weeks without charging a penny for any of it. So don't tell me that just because we didn't want to go into Iraq because we believed your argument for WMD's was so weak that it wasn't believable. (BTW I don't know did you ever find WMD's. Oh yeah thats right you didn't so we were justified in staying out of the war.)
6. Consider your economy, since Bush got into office it has taken a nose dive. The Canadian dollar under Bill Clinton was worth Hardly 70 cents american hell we were at 65 cents american at some points. But since Bush has come into office your Manufacturing Index has fallen and the canadian Dollar has hit 82.5 cents American and is continueing to rise. I don't need to tell you that this is a bad thing for everyone including Canadians because you should already know. If our dollar hits 85 cents american other nations will not want to trade with us because it will be to expensive.
For these reasons I say its time for you to oust that stupid little man from Texas and think about your nation for a moment. Elect anyone but Bush because honestly I think a chimp could do a better job as president.
