LOVE BUG AT LARGE!!

[size=9][i]My name is Fingerling. It is a nickname, I don't remember where it came from, but for the purpose of this story that is what I would prefer to be called. This is the story of a curse. My life starting out as something normal, having a family, children. I had a life. But as everything begins normally, does not mean it must end that way. It all began with the blond. The Suicide Blond. She invited me into her home, we shared a cup of tea as we spoke. She told me she believed that every sole fragment of her life was governed by the number twenty-three. "My favorite color is Pink. Do you know what pink is? Red 27, white 65. 65 plus 27-- 92. Pink has four letters. 92 divided by four..." ...the answer was twenty three. The Suicide Blond pulled down posters, wallpaper. Mathematical equations you wouldn't believe littered the walls. Her name, her birth date, her age, her mother's and father's name. Every detail of her life...it was all equal to twenty three. I spoke some sense into her, leaving the apartment and believing she would not go through with her suicide attempt. As I walked down the street, she leaped from her window. Today just happened to be November twelfth. Eleven plus twelve. I thought about it as I laid in bed that night. The number haunted my thoughts, not leaving my mind with the sight of the blond. I was thirty two, that being twenty three in reverse. My wife's name, twenty three letters. I was born in the year 1976. One plus nine plus seven plus six...twenty three. Over the passing days, more realizations involving the number came to be. I was born on September fourteenth, my first son's name began with the twenty third letter of the alphabet. I lived at 1310 23rd avenue. The number had become a curse, and as days became months it drove my family to leave late one evening (11pm, 2300 on the twenty four hour clock). I was driven to madness, this curse, this number. It killed me.[/i] What if our lives are governed by this number? If everything we believe in, the world, time, our identities. All was equal to twenty three? Could it drive us to madness as well if we realize it? Or could this knowledge be used somehow?[/size]
