It often helps to rant or vent when something really angers or ticks you off. This thread has been created specifically for that purpose. Rant your frustrations here, and get hugs from fellow guild members to help make your day just a tiny bit better.

Go ahead... If someone gets offended, they they aren't opened minded enough to hear an opinion...
Fine... I'll rant about the election...
First off, why are some states using techonology for the FIRST time on a Presidential election. I don't get that. Hey... I'm all for new technology, but come on. I work in a testing environmnent. And you don't use new stuff on important events like that.
Second. I personally HATE elections... I think they need to make it more exciting... The candidates should wrestle till the winner is announced or something. sweatdrop

I work in a testing environmnent. And you don't use new stuff on important events like that. I totally agree. And I also think that everyone should vote by the same means (except maybe absentee, which I voted, because that would be too hard to set up election points in every single country where an American resides, plus I wouldn't pay the train fair to get to where the electronic ballot is, heh). Bonzinut Second. I personally HATE elections... I think they need to make it more exciting... The candidates should wrestle till the winner is announced or something. sweatdrop I actually hate the electoral system. So. Much. It makes no sense to me and makes me feel like my vote is basically wasted. Example: I am registered to vote in Utah (boo, hiss) because that's where my 'US address' is located. It's a Republican state. I'm a registered Independent (only because I don't like label of one certain party). I voted for Kerry. But because Utah is a majority Republican state, they may as well have shredded my ballot when it got there because it didn't really matter much. Sigh. The Dutch system is better. Whoever gets the most votes wins. How nice is that?

I'm not going to try to separate each post like you did... well frankly cause your much coolier than I. blaugh I don't think your vote was "wasted". In my opinion there is no such thing as a wasted vote. You just added one vote to Kerry. It would be better for you to vote for Kerry, then to not vote. I agree with you on your reason for registering Independant. The only "problem" that there is with that is, you really can't vote in the primarys. At least in my experience, there is usually only one candidate. But that is your choice, and I support your decision. But like I said, you voted your opinion, and now you have the right to gripe and complain. In my opinion, if you choose NOT to vote, you have no right to gripe. Even if you think your vote would be wasted. You really don't know what would happen if all the people who feel like their vote is wasted, voted. They may actually change things. But the decision is made, nothing we can do about it, but live through it. sweatdrop

Ok... I have to get this out of my system...
Ok... I have always had the feeling that my boss hates me for some reason. (Its a long story, and I don't want to go into it, but PM me if you REALLYYYYY want to know).
Ok... So she calls me yesterday and says, "I need your PC expertiese, can you come down here for a few minutes??"
Ofcourse my blood was curdling just hearing her voice... now I had to go see and talk to her. gonk
(Let me just clairify one thing. I'm not necessailrly a PC Expert. I know a few things, and I learn quickly... but around here... I'm an expert... because some of these people are MORONS!!!!!)
Ok... Well, basically the tech group just did some work on her pc, to switch it to a different network, so she lost her access to our network drives, and all I had to do was remap them. No big deal really, but of course she is all like. Wow, your sooo good. You did what nobody else could do.
YAY ME!!!! sweatdrop
UGH!!!! That's all I have to say is.. UGH!!!

Yeah, I didn't realise that I couldn't partisipate in the primary's until after I had registered. :S I might change that at some point, but right now I can't be bothered. I only just registered to vote a month before the election... before that I never really cared about the politics and had never voted before. whee

I'm here to rant about Christmas. Simply put, I hate it. I hate that now it's like some big manditory thing. Even if your not catholic, you get a tree, put up lights and hand out presents. The whole world has been brainwashed. You HAVE to go buy presents for people, you HAVE to 'have the christmas spirit', you HAVE to have seen at least one cheesy christmas movie every year since THE DAWN OF TIME! I hate it, can't stand it. Here's what I tend to spew out every christmas for the last 10 years.
"You run around wasting time you don't have, spending money you can't afford, buying gifts for people you don't even really like, and end up getting a bunch of stuff that you don't even need."
There's my christmas spirit for ya. So this year, I've cancelled christmas. Told everyone I know not to get me anything, told the people who already did to return it and spend the money on themselves. I'm not doing the tree, the lights, the carols, the presents, the dinner, or the stupid red and green people always seem to dig out of their closets and wear around this time of year.
The best christmas I ever had was in 2002, I was living in Petawawa with a really good friend of mine. He had been raised Jehovah's Witness(they don't celebrate any holidays, at all) so christmas was no big thing to him. I was a few hours drive away from any of my relatives and those I had seen had come down a couple weeks earlier. So you know what I did on Christmas day? I slept til 2pm, drank peach juice, smoked rolled cigarettes, and sat on the couch all day with my friend. No tree, no lights, no presents. Our christmas dinner was cheese whiz on toast. We didn't even turn on the tv, we just sat there all day, in our pj's and talked. That was the best christmas of my life, and one I'll never forget.
So screw all the things they say you need for christmas!! All they ever did for me was empty my pocket, wear on my nerves and make me fed up with the whole damn thing.

Christmas is just a gimick to spend money, but I like to pick out gift for the special people in my life. ^_^ I don't buy stuff for everyone, just a few people that I care about. I used to like Christmas, we used to have big family dinners. We don't do that anymore since my family doesn't talk much anymore, so we sometimes have christams with my sister, or my aunt. A few times we had dinner by ourselves.
I do think that people generally just buy random gifts for people with out really putting any thought into their gift, because they feel obligated to buy something. I would rather not have anything, than something that I willl never use. If someone doesn't want to buy me a gift I don't really care, because no one is obligated to.
I don't watch cheecy Christmas movies either. xp And I don't watch tv on Christmas, what a waste of time. I can watch tv anytime, why would anyone want to watch tv on Christmas.
Though there are a lot of things I dislike about christmas, I generally enjoy it. 3nodding

I love Christmas. whee Our family Christmas is usually a large event (big dinner, lotsa family, lotsa presents, etc).
This Christmas is going to be different though, and so will every one after that, so I'm not sure what to expect.
I guess I should change that to I love my past Christmas', future feelings about Christmas pending. confused

::hugs Aine::
Christmas has always been the big family events. We'd get up Christmas morning, open our gifts then head to Grandma's for the family dinner with everyone. But now, my family is all split up. My aunt's in Maine, my Gran's in Florida, my Uncle's in Keswick. We're spending Christmas Day with my mom and Boxing Day with my husband's family. Still nice... but different.

Christmas has changed A LOT since I was a kid... Now I have kids, and it has changed even more.
I guess things can't stay the same forever.
I used to love getting gifts. It was usually just a bunch of useless crap, but it was still fun. Now I just get clothes, or various things I need. Or cash.. Which is always good.

OK... something I can't understand....
I have worked at my job for almost 8 years now... I have tried to have a good relationship with the people I work with, and all. I tried the joking around persona... and the seriousness and all that crap. Nothing seemed to work.
Well, some of the people I work with tend to give me a hard time, and basically make me feel like a complete moron most of the time. So I pretty much just stopped talking. One guy is always makeing fun, and just telling me to shut up and stuff... even though I'm not talking...
And making himself seem more intellegent than he really is, saying how he dosn't need my help, then asking for it ten minutes later.
Well, I have stopped talking, and now people are wondering why.
I just don't understand anymore. sweatdrop
