What are some song lyrics that speak to you? A lot of people say that it's lyrics that arn't important in songs, but sometimes I think that they can make or break the song.
Not always the sung lyrics, but the meaning of them wink
I have a ton, and I'm pretty sure you people do too, so don't be afraid to make things.
Here's just one of mine.
Cee-Lo - Gettin' Grown
Hey Little boy you're not allowed to stay You have to evolve inevitably And I've sure come a long way
The road up ahead is so unclear Back slidin down a bottle of beer Nobody knew if I would make it here
Sweet music set me free From the statistic that I started to be I wish my mama was alive to see
The memories of pain have scarred And when I fall it's usually hard But I get up and keep followin' God
Hey, I'm Gettin' grown, (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin grown I'm Gettin grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin grown, hey
Now I remember the good ol' days Broads and boxes and blunts to blaze Now I got three children to raise
I never won't be perfect I know But workin on it is worse than I know Life is just learning as you go
Been selfish once or twice I had to learn how to sacrifice To live to my late nineties be nice
Every day that goes by I find It either hits me or it robs me blind God I owe you this life of mine
I'm gettin grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin grown, I'm gettin grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin grown
(whistling)
Oooo, time changed but it feels the same, There's no tellin what tommorow will bring, Even if I could I wouldn't change a thang
Hey, Lord I know I'm not here to stay But thanks for wakin' me up today Prepare me for what may come my way
Say, young man, there's no need to cry Because I know you will get by Look your destiny in the eye
Everyday my heart burns to try You got to walk before you learn to fly And we all got to earn to die
I'm gettin' grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin' grown I'm gettin' grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin' grown I'm gettin' grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin' grown I'm gettin' grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin' grown I'm gettin' grown (la la la la la, la la la la la) I'm gettin' grown

As I metioned in the trance/vocal trance thread, "Red Sun Rising" by Lost Witness is one of my favortie songs. The lyrics make me think of walking on a beach and just being lost in nature. (hippy moment) That combined with the music makes this one of those songs that makes me just close my eyes and imagine, even when I can't dance to it.
Until forever fades away ....fades away ....fades away ....fades away
red sea, red sky, red sun rising, wait for white, on white sand, blue sea, blue sky, high white sun, white but high, in the blue sky
haaayaa, hayaaa, nayaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayahaaa
Until forever .... Until forever .... Until forever fades away
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
red sea red sky, red sun rising, wait for white, on white sand, blue sea blue sky, high white sun, white but high, in the blue sky
red sea red sky, red sun rising, wait for white, on white sand, blue sea blue sky, high white sun, white but high, in the blue sky
haaayaa, hayaaa, nyaha, nahyaha, ayaahaa ayaahaa, ayhaaa
Until forever fades away ...fades away
Until forever fades away ....fades away
Until forever fades away

To be lost in the forest To be cut adrift You've been trying to reach me You bought me a book To be lost in the forest To be cut adrift I've been paid I've been paid
Don't get offended If I seem absent minded Just keep telling me facts And keep making me smile Don't get offended If I seem absent minded I get tongue-tied Baby, you've got to be more discerning I've known never known what's good for me I will be yours
I'll pay for you anytime
You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness Well jump on, enjoy, you can gorge away You told me you wanted to eat up my sadness Jump right on Baby, you've got to be more discerning I've known never known what's good for me Baby, you've got to be more demanding I will be yours
What are you holding out for? What's always in the way? Why so damn absent-minded? Why so scared of romance?
This modern love breaks me This modern love wastes me
Do you wanna come over and kill some time? Tell me facts, tell me facts, tell me facts Tell me facts Throw your arms around me
This Modern Love- Bloc Party
Just been listening to alot of them lately, and this song espeically seems to resonate with me.

CRASS "Punk Is Dead"
Yes that's right, punk is dead, It's just another cheap product for the consumers head. Bubblegum rock on plastic transistors, Schoolboy sedition backed by big time promoters. CBS promote the Clash, But it ain't for revolution, it's just for cash. Punk became a fashion just like hippy used to be And it ain't got a thing to do with you or me.
Movements are systems and systems kill. Movements are expressions of the public will. Punk became a movement cos we all felt lost, But the leaders sold out and now we all pay the cost. Punk narcissism was social napalm, Steve Jones started doing real harm. Preaching revolution, anarchy and change As he sucked from the system that had given him his name.
Well I'm tired of staring through s**t stained glass, Tired of staring up a superstars arse, I've got an arse and crap and a name, I'm just waiting for my fifteen minutes fame. Steve Jones you're napalm, If you're so pretty (vacant) why do you swarm? Patti Smith you're napalm, You write with your hand but it's Rimbaud's arm.
And me, yes I, do I want to burn? Is there something I can learn? Do I need a business man to promote my angle? Can I resist the carrots that fame and fortune dangle? I see the velvet zippies in their bondage gear, The social elite with safety-pins in their ear, I watch and understand that it don't mean a thing, The scorpions might attack, but the systems stole the sting.
PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD. PUNK IS DEAD.

Organ Donors - What's Up? (the Dougal and Gammer remix is the best version, dont take any other one)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Twenty five years and my life is still Trying to get up that great big hill of hope For a destination
I realized quickly when i knew i should That this hope was made up of this brotherhood of man..... For whatever that means......
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside And I take a deep breath And I get real high And I scream at the top of my lungs Whats going on?
And I say Hey-yay-yay-yay Hey-yay-yey Whats going on
And I say Hey-yay-yay-yay Hey-yay-yey Whats going on

Benny Benassi - Satisfaction
"Hurt me...and then just push me...till I can get my...satisfaction, satifaction, satifaction, satifaction, satifaction...." lol
Not really. I'd have to say:
Oceanlab - Satellite (Above & Beyond Mix)
"My love is like footsteps in the soul - baby I follow you everywhere you go - baby The pain as light has come to wake you But you will never realize That I inspire the dreams that guide you baby
I follow the winds that bring the cold - baby I light a fire in your soul - baby The lightest touch of feathers falling My love may be invisible But I inspire the dreams that guide you - baby...
...You're a half a world away But in my mind I whisper every single word you say And before you sleep at night... You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite
Your singing satellite
You say a prayer You say a prayer
You're a half a world away But in my mind I whisper every single word you say. And before you sleep at night... You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite
I follow the winds that bring the cold - baby I light a fire in your soul - baby The lightest touch of feathers falling My love may be invisible But I inspire the dreams that guide you - baby
You're a half a world away... But in my mind I whisper every single word you say... And before you sleep at night... You pray to me, your lucky star, your singing satellite"
This song is a great song! I think everyone should hear it. No matter if you don't like Trance or not.

Pink Floyd - comfortably numb
Hello, Is there anybody in there Just nod if you can hear me Is there anyone at home Come on now I hear you're feeling down I can ease your pain And get you on your feet again Relax I'll need some information first Just the basic facts Can you show me where it hurts
There is no pain, you are receding A distant ship smoke on the horizon You are coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain, you would not understand This is not how I am I have become comfortably numb
Okay Just a little pin p***k There'll be no more aaaaaaaah! But you may feel a little sick Can you stand up? I do believe it's working, good That'll keep you going through the show Come on it's time to go.
There is no pain you are receding A distant ship smoke on the horizon You are only coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eye I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child is grown The dream is gone And I have become Comfortably numb.

Breathe (2a.m.) - Anna Nalick
2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake, can you help me unravel my latest mistake, I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes Like they have any right at all to critisize, hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason
'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable and life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button girl, So cradle your head in you hands And breathe, just breathe,Woah breathe, just breathe
May he turn 21 on the base at Fort Bliss Just today he sat down to the flask in his fist, Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year. Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while, But my God it's so beautiful when the boy smiles, Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it.
Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable, And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table. No one can find the rewind button boys, So cradle your head in your hands, And breathe, just breathe,Woah breathe, just breathe
There's a light at each end of this tunnel, you shout But you're just as far in as you'll ever be out These mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again If you only try turning around.
2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song If I get it all down on paper, its no longerinside of me, threatening the life they belong to And i feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud And I know that you'll use them, however you want to
Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable, And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button now Sing it if you understand. and breathe, just breathewoah breathe, just breathe,oh breathe, just breathe.

The Streets - "Stay Positive"
Cos this world swallows souls And when the blues unfold It gets cold silence burns holes You're going mad Perhaps you always were But when things was good you just didn't care This is called irony When you most need to get up you got no energy Time and time s**t'll happen The dark s**t's unwrapping But no-one's listening your mates are laughing Your brethren's ******** and then you start hating Your stomach starts churning and you mind starts turning. So smoke another draw It won't matter no more but the next day still feels sore Rain taps on your window Always did tho but you didn't hear it when things were so-so You're on your own now Your little zone you were born alone and believe me you'll die alone Weed becomes a chore You want the buzz back so you follow the others onto smack
Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive
Feels nice and still Good thing about brown is it always will It's easy, no-one blames you It's that world out there that's ******** you You know less of a person and if God exists He still loves you Just remember that - the more you sink the further back from that brink Maybe you've lifetime scars and you think tattoos might be more fitting But who's picking? Searching for yourself you find demons Try and be a freeman and grasp that talisman Cos your the same as I am We all need our fellow man We all need our samaritan. Maybe I'm better looking than you tho Maybe I've got more dough - but am I happier... no. Get the love of a good girl and your world will be much richer than my world And your happyness will uncurl
Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive
Stop dreaming People who say that are blaspheming They're doing nine to five and moaning And they don't want you succeeding when theyve blown it And you idols - who are they? They too dreamt about their day Positive steps will see your goals. Whether it's dollars or control, feel the gold. I aint helping you climb the ladder I'm busy climbing mine. That's how it's been since the dawn of time If you reach a cul-de-sac The world turns it's back This is you zone, it's like blackjack He might get the ace or the top one So organise your two's and three's into a run then you'll have ******** him son And for that you'll be the better one One last thing before you go though When you feel better tommorow you'll be a hero But never forget today. you could be back here Things can stray What if you see me in that window? You won't help me I know. That's cool, just keep walking where you go. Carry on through the estate, stare at the geezers so they know you aint lightweight And go see your mates And when they don't look happy Play them this tape
Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive
I hope you understand me Just trying to stay positive I aint no preaching ******** and I aint no do-goody-goody either This is about when s**t goes pear-shaped And if you aren't or ever have been at rock bottom then good luck to you in the big wide world But remember that one day s**t might just start crumbling Your bird might ******** off or you might loose your job It's when that happens that what I'm talking about will feel much more important to you So if you aint feeling it, just be thankfull that everythings cool in your world Respect to BC Positivity Positivity
Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive Just trying to stay positive
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "A Jackknife To A Swan"
Shortly after Evelyn was doused with gasoline And just a few miles off the avenue A lighter flashed into a puff of smoke For thirty years Walter worked right there Five days out of every week That's where he watched his hometown fade The last came fast and furious Just step in one direction Stutter step for one split second Faster through the intersection A jackknife to a swan and he was gone When Walter's shift was over He'd head out to catch the red line home Two stops away his family slept He'd be there when they got out of bed
Destination subway station Someone yelled so he looked back Five guys were heading his way He ran to catch that last train home Just step in one direction Stutter step for one split second Faster through the intersection A jackknife to a swan and he was gone
Oh Walter ran and did they kill Evelyn? He had his token in his hand But he jumped over the turnstile And he ran down the platform They were hot on his heels An outbound was bearing down on him Walter jumped in front of it ( Just step in one direction Stutter step for one split second Faster through the intersection A jackknife to a swan and he was gone [x2] )

"Delays- No Ending"
I've Seen you hanging from blistering skies Holding yourself with a grace that defies Law after Law as well spit in the eye Fall on me when you come down
You've seen me panic And Kick without sight Of any danger except what I might Know of myself and See in you Tonight Fall on me when you come down
The air is thin and hard to breath, With Sweetness that you lost to me Despite this noose around our kiss, I try to tell myself This is No ending
Seeing you buzzing from flickering signs Bringing on warnings of Incoming fire Blood on your hands From the tongue of a liar Fall on me when you come Down
The air is thin and hard to breath, With sweetness that you lost to me Despite This noose around our kiss, I try to tell myself this is No ending No ending
Leaving Alone and I see you're still breathing Head out of sight But the neon's Deceiving, There is no danger of you Getting anywhere here
I know I'm prone to rushing In with No pretence of listening Despite this noose around our kiss, I try to tell myself This is No ending. No ending Fall on me when you come down
*I really really love this band!
