Oh yeah. Thats all the time.
Factors in the equasion of how much FF IX owns.
1. Charachter Development: Each of the charachters has his or her own intricate story that is explored in-depth through the course of the game. When comparing this game to any of the other Final Fantasys it is clear that IX has as much charachter development, if not more, than any of them.
2. Artwork: Ok, the graphics are slightly out dated, but the art is very inspired. From the 'costume' designs too the city layouts, this game is nothing short of awe inspiring. When comparing it to other FFs, I would say that XII comes close in the feild of art, and it may even surpass it. XII, however, does not have nearly as much of the charachter development.
3. Music: Melodies of Life. Enough said.
4. I could go on and on about the merits of FF IX, but instead I will sum it up in one phrase. "BALLERSALAD"
Discuss any other games that you might like as much or more than Final Fantasy IX.

1 game that was as cool as FF IX was Legend of Dragoon and if you haven't heard of it look it up and rent or buy it kicks a**.

I loved the mini-games in FF IX. Granted, I never finished racing with Hippaul nor did I become the king of the jump rope, but I felt that the mini-games provided more substance to the game if someone got tired of the storyline and wanted a simple diversion.

dementedfellow I loved the mini-games in FF IX. Granted, I never finished racing with Hippaul nor did I become the king of the jump rope, but I felt that the mini-games provided more substance to the game if someone got tired of the storyline and wanted a simple diversion. i didnt do that either, but i did get my chocobo to be gold.

The only game i played as much as FF IX(and that’s stretching it by more than a bit.) Was Legend of Mana for Ps1. I liked it because i could infinitely customize my own gear down to every detail. But that was all that really drew me to it. FF IX and infact al FF series blow every other game away but especially IX for all the aforementioned points at the beginning of this topic.

I liked FFIX for it had the style and story an ideal Final Fantasy should have...FFVII and FFVIII had lose those.

FFIX had theperfect storyline. Even though FFVIII Had better graphics, I still would have preferred this game, becuase the battle system is much simpler.

I just finished disc 1 in Final fantasy VII. It's so sad that aeris had to die...

One thing I really loved about FF IX was how you gained abilities by equipting weapons. It was simple, and I liked it that way. I hated the Junction system from VIII and the Materia system from VII, in my opinion, was OKAY but a little vague. Eh, I just thought IX's was way better.
I totally agree with you on the character development. And I love how Zidane is set apart from the other FF hero's in that he isn't a loner but he's not a p***y either. He's actually the perfect picture of an ideal hero.
One game I really liked that obviously can't compare to IX but I know that a lot of my other friends who are IX fans like is Star Ocean: Til the End of Time for the PS2.
