Life is rough in the Kingdom of Aaryin, one of the last civilized areas controlled by human kind. The war against the Orcs has not been going well, as one could guess, for Aaryin is the last defensive post against them. It will now not be long until the human race is wiped from the map. The war, which has reigned upon the land for many decades, is, without a doubt, going to come to a climatic finish in the not so distant future. How do we know this? It is because of a spy who returned to the Kingdom of Aaryin; a spy who was part of a caravon of ten. The news which he gave to the King were not words of comfort: a huge army of Orcs were comming from the lands of the West, an army with every intention of crushing their kingdom once and for all. According to the spy, they were only a month away from reaching them.

There was no longer order. Chaos filled the street of Aaryin. In desperate attempts to keep peace so that they could defend themselves (instead of being torn up from the inside), soldiers were ordered to police the streets. Families were kept in their homes; no more commerce could be made (with the very little that they had). The village was now a wasteland, a ghost town. Families that had homes had enough rations (given to them by the King) to survive. However, there were many who did not have houses who were either beggers or scum. They filled the streets... clogging the village with their filth. So that there would no longer be those that caused a strain on the citizens of Aaryon, the King ordered the "leftovers" to be executed.

It is now a fight to survive. These beggers are now hungrier than ever, for there is no food for them to eat and not only that, but they are being hunted down by the soldiers to keep order. They can only kill and steal to survive. As the days passed, it soon became quite obvious, that the thiefs would not survive. The soldiers, who were well fed and bred for war, easily hunted down the weak, tired and starving ruffians. Every day there was at least one executioning, where the villagers watched from their windows, yelling out cheers as the thieves were killed before their eyes.

However, one of the beggers was becomming quite a nuisance and had actually gathered up a few followers. The leader's name was Iagami Ringblade, a man with a powerful will that attracted those strong enough to follow him. Those too weak were killed. As his power grew, Iagami began to gain more land within the Kingdom, soon controlling an entire block in the South Western corner of the castle walls. Under his guidance, the few soldiers that had been stationed were either killed or forced to retreat forcing the King to send more of his men and one of the few wizards that he had left. Even though he needed to men to help defend against the marching Orc army, the thret within the castle walls was becomming too great.

With the dawn of horror in the distance, a small battle is being waged as the Orcs near the Kingdom. Is the enemy actually inside the walls instead of on the outside?

If you are a thief... how will you survive? Will you follow Iagama or will you become a victim to either him or the King's men? If you are a soldier... how will you keep the peace? What is the future of Aaryin? And what of the Orcs?

Gaia Name: brocoli_apocolypse
Name in Roleplay: Iagami Ringblade
Affiliation: Leader of Iagami
History/Biography: Iagami was born into a lowly family, a family which lived in the poor community of the Kingdom (their segment located in the Southwestern part of the kingdom). Because of their status in society, Iagami was never allowed to enter beyond the Court Square, where commerce took place. The punishment for those that trespassed had to serve time in the prison, which lay deep within the grounds under Aaryin. However, those that were brought into the prisons, were never seen again.

Unlike his peers and those around him, Iagami not just wanted to pass the taboo, but planned on acting on that dream. All were afraid of being put into prison, but Iagami did not care; he did not believe that it was fair, just because they were of the lower class and therefore wanted to go against the system. When Iagami was a child, he proved to be quite rash and daring, going against all the rules against him. And when he got older, his deeds became more daring. Soon, he decided to act on his dream of passing through taboo and venture into the richer side of the Kingdom.

Iagami, at the age of sixteen, passed the taboo and was caught. However, because of his age (he was not of age; one was a man at the age of seveteen), he was pardoned, but was given a warning. But that did not stop him. In fact, it angered the lad that he was not thrown into prison like a grown up. Deteremined, Iagmi went back into the northern area of the Kingdom and was immediately rested and put up for trial.

Before the trial could even begin, the spies, who were to change the course of Aaryin forever, arrived at the Kingdom, telling of the massive Orc army that was steadily approaching. With new problems to solve, Iagami's trial was forgotten, thus allowing him to return home. As the plan of the erradication of the "beggers" was introduced, Iagami, not willing to to be taken just because of their rank in society, formed a small legion who were able to grow in size considerably and soon was able to take control of a considerable amount of land, in the Kingdom...

Gaia Name: TheSnazzmeister
Name in Roleplay: Commonly known as "Grunt"
Affiliation: Iagami thief
History/Biography: There has always been a Guild of Thieves. They are in every major city, though they may or may not be associated with each other. The Guild keeps after its own and works together to share the wealth of the wealthier with the spry. The members grow to be ruthless or they don't grow. This is the environment into which Grunt was born.

Grunt rose through the ranks of the Thieves' Guild like a bubble of Chlorine in a pool of Mercury. It was obvious that he was different from the other thieves, and he didn't mix very much with them. The thing that was most distinct about him was that he never talked, never communicated anything in any way. His face was passive, his expression blank, his eyes only used for gathering information, not giving it out. The reason that he is known as "Grunt" is because that was the most information that anyone, live or dead, has gotten out of him.

Well, there were a few ways that you could figure out how he was feeling. If he punched you, he was mad, and if he took out a knife or a crossbow, he was really mad.

As a thief, his actions were silent and catlike and his reactions fast and instinctual (his gut has never let him down). He has never been caught, mostly because the streets that he tended to patronize were narrow, and he was extremely adept at scaling walls. He has also proven to be somewhat sociopathic, sociopathy defined as the inability to feel human emotions, including pleasure. He does what he has to do in order to get a job done, nothing more, nothing less. If that involves hurting people, he will hurt people, but if it doesn't, then he won't go out of his way to do so.

When the riots started, the heads of the Thieves' Guild were actually among the first to die, due to a string of freak accidents, and so the whole Guild fell apart. Grunt himself was lucky to live. He joined Iagami because he believes that his chances are best when he cannot quite be singled out but can still pursue (relatively) whatever actions he deems necessary. He seeks the same freedoms and protections that he had when he was still in the Thieves' Guild.
Appearance: Grunt is bony, but that does not mean that he is weak. His movements are faster than any bodybuilder's and that just means that his blows are more painful. It hurts more to get hit with a stick than a slab of meat. However, very few people, if any, know what Grunt's body looks like beneath his clothes, because he always wears shoes, long pants, a longsleeved shirt and overshirt, gloves, and a scarf that covers his nose and ears. His hair is shaved close enough to his scalp to be impossible to grab, but not close enough to allow his head to shine in the darkness. His eyes are a cold silvery blue, his complexion tan and his hair black. His clothes change color based on the light they are in, but usually just look like any old trash. His shoulders are broad and his limbs long.

One thing that should probably be in this section by dint of not fitting anywhere else is that Grunt has utter control of his body. He is double- and triple- jointed wherever his joints are mobile, and, if necessary, he can dislocate his arms from his shoulders and his legs from his hips. His fingers are long (as suggested by his gloves) and spindly, and can maneuver in strange ways.

Iagami stood over the bloody corpse which lay at his feet. His sword, which was imbedded in the torn flesh of the soldier whom he had killed moments before, jutted out of his chest, as if the blade was in fact a living creature that had just torn free from his rib cage. The thief, who went by the title of "Leader" or "Boss", held a grin on a face covered in blood, the blood of another. Standing there over his fallen prey with the blood smeared across his features, made him look like some savage covered in war paint; this gave Iagami a barbarious aura. Of course, Iagami could easily be described as being a barbarian because of his harsh actions towards the soldiers of the Kingdom in which he lived. But of course, the only reason why he was the way he was was because of how the Kingdom was run: he was considered the lowest of the low and was therefore persecuted for it. But was it his fault for being born into a family on the lower side of life? If he had born into a family not at random, but due to the strength within him and his will to survive, he would have been born into a royal blodline. And he knew that. And since society would not allow him to move up in rank, then he would have to force it.

Slowly, the thief lowered himself so that his entire weight was pressed down upon his knees, his eyes looking over the carcass with disgust. "I believe that you have something of mine," said the man slowly, his gaze soon falling upon a bundle of bread which the soldier had had slung over his shoulder before he had died. Slowly, the knight grasped the bundle of bread, soon slinging it over his own shoulder just as the knight had done. "It is quite strange," continued the thief as he rose to his feet, "you are a man who is accepted. But still you steal. There is a reason why I do, it is to survive. But what is your excuse?" Snorting, the man known as Iagami grasped the hilt of his sword, which was still trabbed within the ribs of the dead man, and pulled it forth from his body, causing leftover blood to gush from the wound which had just torn to a bigger size because of that action. "Pathetic."

And with that, the thief turned from the soldier and slowly made his way down the street as if he did not have a care in the world. Of course, the streets were dangerous for men such as himself. But at the moment, he feared nothing; he felt on top of the world. Everytime he killed a soldier or a man sworn to put him in his "proper place", he felt invinsible. Of course, that was foolish and could make a man vulnerable. But that was not the case for Iagami. It no doubt made him stronger. And that was how the thief felt as he passed by the countless houses which were barred shut. Some of them probably held a family, a family starving while others were just filled with the corpses of those that had gotten in the way of his men. And it served them right.

It did not take Iagami long to reach the area which was controlled by him, for he controlled pretty much the entire southwest corner of the Kingdom. Of course, one who was not apart of his party would not know of the dangers which lay before them, for the boundary, which marked the reach of his territory, looked to be defensless. But of course, that was what he wanted it to seem. He did not want to make it public where his territory lay and instead had men hiding in the shadows to strike if someone wandered onto their territory. It did not matter if they were a soldier or not: the person who was unfortunate enough to go stray upon his land, most likely had some items that would prove useful for his men.

With a wave of his hand to the men who hid in the shadows, the leader passed through, heading into the center of his "kingdom" which was, of course, a tavern...

Kiyara travelling through this side of town which was empty of people but there seemed to be so many guards in one area from here to there and from there to here watching him. He was annoyed at them watching him as if he were no human but a common ragged dog. Then from out of nowhere a soldier on a horse charged into him with his partisan up and ready. Kiyara looking up moved to the right just in time to dodge the attack and pulling out his sword, he cut the guy off his sword. "Damn, I didnt know they would attack!" said Kiyara dodging again as another horseman charged him.

Perplexed by the strange object that he had found Licon Crovicon just on the street. He decided to wrap it in a blanket to keep it warm. The teenager was a thief, not just a thief but an illegal thief. He already has a death sentence waiting for him that he escaped from, next time he won't be so lucky but his dream ever since a boy was to join the army. He never knew quite how because his whole family was executed the day he was supposed to be killed. But life has its twists, doesn't it?

Licon resided in a old fishers cave just outside of the capitol city. He hides everything of value in there. He does trades with Iagami thieves to get thing such as bread for his jewelry and gold. He didn't want to join them for he knew if they knew his dream they would kill me before I killed them. So makes sense not to join.

The 15-year-old laid down on his bed which he got in a trade and tried to rest. His great sword was hanging on the wall behind him on a shelf where it was easy to reach. Not even knowing its true value Licon just uses it for combat. The Iagami thieves know of its power but yet the half-elf didn't trade it to them.

As sleep poured upon him he drifted into a great dream of fighting the orcs and swinging his mighty sword and killing them with one easy slash. But Licon didn't what surprise was going to appear when he returned from battle (AKA: wakes up).

After defeating the first ten soldiers finished their charged towards him the others became cautious about charging him and now watched him carefully as they waited for something.

Out of nowhere a knight with a pike attacked him and he dodged it just in time to find himself surrounded by 15 sword points on his chest. As the knight with the pike said "Hahahaha you were good but you were caught now."

(( Playing as a really evil/really neutral character is going to be weird... ))

If the windows had been open, the authorities would have gotten in. As it was, the shutters and the curtains were closed, and so no one could see in, and so had no good reason to enter the house. Not that the guards needed a good reason these days, but they didn't like to waste their time, especially when there wasn't any sign of forced entry. Grunt was good at not leaving signs of forced entry.

The two adults, married and with children, watched him fasten the windows and lock the doors. He peeked out of the window, pulling the curtain just barely aside with a finger, and, apparently satisfied, pulled his finger back, allowing the curtain to hang naturally. They watched him turn back into the room and look at them with that horrifyingly passive face. Their son, who had never had anything like this happen to him before, began to softly cry. The sound attracted Grunt's attention, and he put a single finger to where his lips would have been if they had not been covered. The child, frightened, began to sob, or at least as much as he could through that gag. The adults watched, helpless as they were bound tightly to their chairs, as Grunt slowly walked over to the boy, whose sobs doubled and redoubled. Grunt leaned down and reemphasized the international sign for "Be quiet", but something about the way that he did it added the words "or you'll be sorry and I won't care" to the end of the sign. This threw the poor kid into hysterics. The thief stood up to his full, imposing height, and looked to the boy's parents. Getting the message that they thought he meant, the parents tried to shush the boy through their respective gags. It didn't work.

The mother gasped and the father winced as, without warning, Grunt threw a wicked uppercut to the boy's chin. The blow knocked his head up in a quick whiplash, the body followed, the chair fell over backwards, and the child fell silent, unconscious. The parents shook in their chairs, tears running down their faces, as he turned to them. He cocked his head and put his index finger back to his scarf. Then he turned and walked into their pantry. The parents stared terrified into each others' eyes as they heard the noises of the stranger rummaging through their rations.

Eventually he came back out, finishing off a pear. He had a chopped up piece of meat in his other hand, and he knelt down in front of the man's and woman's chairs. He pulled his scarf back up after finishing the pear, and once more let them know that silence was prudent, but the appellation this time was "You know what happens when you aren't" instead of "or else". It was slightly more positive. He reached out to the woman's gag first, and took it out. She looked at him with a gaze of curiosity and fear. He held up a piece of meat, and used one finger to gently open her mouth.

All of his movements seemed to be carefully designed to say "I'm not going to hurt you unless I have to, but, believe me, I will not hesitate to hurt you if I feel it is prudent." Because of this, the woman stayed silent as he fed her half of the meat that he brought out with him. She chewed and swallowed as best she could. After she was done, he patted her cheek and replaced the gag. He then repeated the process, patting him on the cheek as well. After they were both re-gagged, he nodded at them and walked over to their son again. The thief reached down and set him back upright.

He nodded at the three of them again, and looked out the window again. He walked to the other side of the window and looked out. He walked into the parents' bedroom and, from what the adults could hear in the living room, he had found one of their stashes of money. He came back into the living room and poured the bag of coins out onto the floor. Meticulously, he counted out the coins and divided them into four piles, three big and one medium. He took one of the big ones for himself, put the medium one in front of the boy and the other two big ones in front of each parent. He gave them a particularly aggressive thumbs up with each hand and moved his thumbs ups between them. They glanced, confused, at the two thumbs up signs, glanced back at the intruder's completely neutral, professional face, glanced back at the two hands, and their eyes widened slightly when they realized that they weren't thumbs up signs any more, but fists. Grunt threw his arms apart, hitting them each on the cheek. They were unconscious before they hit the floor.

When they woke up, they were untied, lying in bed, with their son in his bed, and the thief was gone.

There weren't any signs of forced exit, either.

Held in shackles and made to walk in the streets as people laughed at him and the knight taking his weapon from him were making him walk in shame. Talking to the warrior on the horse next to him, Kiyara asked the warrior, "So what are you going to do to me?" The warrior responded, "We are going to make you walk this whole city in shame."

Looking down at the ground he was going to try one of his stupid abilities that his dad had taught him but he had never gotten around to using. Sure, okay fine he had used some in his need but that was when he was really in need did it come out to help him and so he thought he must really need it now to save his skin.

The warriors getting hotter and hotter finally noticed that it was only getting hot on one side so they looked just in time to find that Kiyara was using magic on them. The Knight seeing this pulled his face armor down to protect his eyes as a shout and a searing heat burst shot at. Kiyara yelled out, "Fire Burst!" As a wave of heat just blew from his body killing the six warriors around him and stunning the warriors and the Knight, and his shackles now broken, Kiyara grabbed his sword and ran for it before they caught him.

Anima stepped quickly through the streets, twirling a bag of seeds. Such a large city it was, easy to get lost. The girl stopped, lowering her bag to her side. She munch quietly on a peice of chewing gum. She blew a small bubble, letting it pop, but it didn't stick to her chin.

The girl easily retracted the material, made of a few odd ingredients of plants. She looked around, finding something familier. She quickly ran down an alley but stopped, seeing no one at the other end.

Anima froze momentarily, looking about. She had found her way back blocked by a couple theifs. She slowly looked forward, seeing two more.

The girl gave out a loud scream, bringing up a spell with her gum. It created an odd bubble sheild about her, being a greyish color.

Anima looked at the theifs, seeing a confused look on their faces. She carefully sat down, being careful of the bubble, I think I'll just stay right here...

((Bubble gum??? Oh and nice avi art))

As Licon awoke from his sleep he noticed there were guards around him. Their shining breastplates shimmered in the little light there was in the cave. Most of them in this city look like that with a horned helmet to show their power. The bigger the horns, the bigger the authority. And here it was true as well. But they all had small horns. Boy was that b*****d of a king stupid.

Always good at acrobatics, Licon jumped up using the bed as a trampoline, grabbed his sword and was to the cave entrance. Confused the guards decided it would be best to retreat now but the thief was blocking the only exit. One by one they ran up to the half-elf but he just kept swinging his big sword killing every man who tried.

Noticing he was winning and there were only three guards left Licon became confident in his self and he knew he could do it. Looking at the three guards discussing the elf prepared himself for what ever they were going to do. The guards left their huddle and then charged all at once.

Blocking in useless places Licon was sliced in his leg, cut by a knife on his left cheek and stabbed deeply into his left arm. Shriveling to the ground in pain the guards took his sword and bashed him over the head with it making Licon unconscious. He was defeated.

As soon as the leader's image burst through the two swinging doors, all the men in the room looked up, each of their hands, mangled, scarred or in some shape or form deformed, reached for some sort of weapon that hung at their side. But as soon as they noticed who it was, they immediately, once they had shown their respects by bowing their heads, cheering his name (which occured at more than one table, resulting in a few drunken songs) or actually standing up, returned to their drinks, losing themselves in a drunken fever.

As the cloaked man had gone at least half way into the room, he, after grabbing a pint of ale which was given to him by the bartender, turned to his fellow men and raised his glass. "Food has been scarse for sometime because we have stolen most of the food from those that had once rejected us as fools! Serves them damn right!" Immediately a rowdy cry of approval met his words, followed by some falling to the ground, too drunk to stay concious. Once the cries had died down, the man continued. "However, we must move to the next stage of our operation. Since most families have been drained of their supplies, it is now time to rob the small keeps in which the soldiers live!"

By this time, the men were not rowdy at all. In fact, despite their drunken state of mind, all of them men in the room were now quite serious. Seeing that he had fully gotten their attention, the leader continued, his eyes drifting from one face to the next. "Before, we thought the food in which we stole was of good quality. But that is nothing to what the soldiers are being fed by the King. Of course, we do not know where the plantation is kept, but, what I am sure about, is that they have high quality food that had be taken for ourselves!" And with those words, Iagami opened up the sac, in which the bread was stored and took out a large piece and bit off a large chunk. With his mouth still full, the leader continued his speech, bits of the bread falling to the ground.

"We have have looked at food as something that was limited. But now we can finally feast! Here is to all your hard work!" And with that, Iagami threw the many loaves of bread in the air. Immediately all the men dashed across the room, grabbing as many as they could before they began inhaling the food. Many men, who were in high society, would have considered this a bad move on his part, since it could cause a fight for the rations. But that was Iagmi's intent. They had to fight to live and if one was too weak to stand up to his own men, then they were useless. Smirking, Iagmi turned from the fray, stepping over wrestling bodies and ducking under a flying chair and calmly placed himself at the bar, raising his mug to the bartender. "Cheers to you, my friend. Without you, none of this would be possible."

And with that final word, Iagmi drank the rest of his beverage before the bartender refilled it. "Courtesy of the tavern across the way," chuckled the bartender as he too calmly turned to manage his business as he absent-mindedly ducked under a soaring knife. Still grinning, Iagmi turned to watch the riot as his men wrestled with one another, soon cracking a man's face with the knuckles of his fist when one tried to challenege him. As the man fell to the floor, blood spewing from his nose, the leader sighed, taking yet another gulp from his ale. "Anarchy... pure anarchy..."
