AB-Autobuy;when dealing in the exchange, the AB is the price that will automatically sell the item

AI-abbreviation of Artificial Inflation;Artificial inflation goes againsteverything many people stand for. gonk This is basically buying up enough of the lower priced section of an item to manually raise the price of an item. Example-Katanas are at 50k. You buy up all of the ones from 50k-55k, thus raising the price to 56k or so. Due to the fact that I do not support it, I will not give tips or explanations on how to conduct it professionally

Exchanging/Vending-See The Basics.

HB-high bid; the high bid is the current high bid or the highest amount of money offered by a user

k-[example: 1k,10k, 34k]1,000 gold. 1k is the equivalent of 1,000 gold. Therefore saying you have 34k is saying you have 34,000 gold. 3nodding

MC-abbreviation for Monthly Collectible' once called Donation Items; Monthly Collectibles are items that can be purchased each month for $2.50 USD.

Misprice-putting an item in the market for below actual price on accident [Example:Selling Katana for 50,000, accidentally only put 5,000]

MP-abbreviation for MarketPlace

SB-Starting Bid;the starting bid is the beginning price that must be bid for your bid to be legit in that auction in the eyes of the thread owner

1337 Terms

OMG-Oh my god

OMFG-Oh my ******** god scream

lol/Lawl-Laugh out Loud

lmao-laughing my a** off

jk-jut kidding

nvm-never mind

brb-Be right back.

If you want to be a successful exchanger, refrain from using 1337 terms as much as possible when dealing with customers.

You have all of the technical terms under your belt. Now tis' time to get your success started. Exchanging can be very profitable but you first require a good starting amount of pure gold. Some ways to accomplish this at a quicker pace:

1) Sell off your entire inventory-you'll be able to buy them back later if you make smart decisions.

2) Polling, bumping, fishing, slots, or cards
-Polling by joining poll guilds or doing polls in forums can give you gold for the first 10 polls or so. They do stop giving gold after that.
-Bumping is going into chatterbox threads and typing the word "bump" for gold and to raise your post count.
-Fishing is a game that you can play. This requires you to buy bait but you can get fish to sell to slowly make profits.
-Slots are risky but have a larger chance of producing winnings and tickets
-Cards are a lot easier and you can easily double your tokens into tickets with enough time.

As much as this is an Exchanging Guide, you cannot reach your goal without Vending. After dabbling into some of the above steps, find the one you like or find the most profitable and repeat it until you have a decent 15k in pure gold. After that, you can refer to Relgabrix's or Sic-Sixxx's guide to vending. You can try vending until you have about 50k in pure gold. Then you can move on.

You've got 50k. Now you can start with Exchanging.

What is Exchanging/Vending?

Exchanging and Vending are essentially the same thing. You buy items below MP price and sell them at or very near MP price. However, there are some key differences between the two. Exchangers use the Exchange forum to buy items below MP price and sell them in the vend. Vendors look for item misprices in the vend and then resell them for slightly below MP price.

There are two types of Exchanging. One type uses the exchange forum while the others use the wanted forum.

Exchange Forum-Using the Exchange forum and making deals from sellers' threads.

Wanted Forum-Making a thread in the Wanted Forum stating that you are buying items, and then try haggling their prices down after they post what they're selling.

I personally would use both as you can find the most profits that way.

Profit Gaps, otherwise known as haggling. So you found someone willing to sell you something, but you're unsure on how much to haggle him. Well, some commonly used gaps in the exchange are:

Under 50k-Haggle Down to 1.2k-3k below MP price depending on price.

50k-150k-Try to get 7-15k if you're dealing in this price range.

150k-500k-I'd say 16k-30k off

Anything about 500k-Try for 75k-On depending on the price

Exchanging can be a bit slower than vending sometimes but can be more profitable at times.

Time:

You need to exchange for at least 1 hour and a half a day when starting out to make somewhere around

15k-30k:With 100k pure

75k:With 500k Pure

150k:750k Pure surprised surprised surprised surprised

200k:1 mil Pure surprised surprised surprised surprised surprised surprised eek

Eliandra
Clevage is a mans best friend

I hate to say this, but I've used my cuteness in order to sell things. If you're female use your cuteness to your advantage.
"Oh, thanks so much" *Kiss* heart

How to Haggle.

Rhinee
Ello there. Since I've seen many great tips for many intentions in the exchange, I'll share mine. ^^

1. First and the most important point in haggling is...

Don't Ever use the MP as a guildline. The prices in MP is an Autobuy... too few had realized that.

2. Keep the atmosphere light. The seller is not your enemy. Try not to give the haggling a tense atmosphere. Type something off topic during the process.

e.g.

1) Haggling on a Side sale:

73K for penguin slippers? <3

Good luck with your DJ sale. ^^

2) Small sales

30K on Bani clips?

I've been questing those fluffy blobs for ages xD

3) Large sales

Large sales tend to get busy. So keep the post plain and simple.

10K on Solar cloak? If not... then 11K on Lunar cloak.

4) Bidding

If there are mutiple items, don't outbid each other so fast. I did that mistake once. And raise my own price from 73K to 77K. xP

Don't need an example... you people are smart enough. Also... try to keep the increasement as little as possible. 1K is a good amount.

3. Literacy

I can not stress that enough. When the seller can read your post without having a headache, he or she might be in a better mood. Better mood = better deal.

Not too many non letter characters. Limit the emoticon number too. Which is why we invented letter emoticons.

e.g x3 , =x , =D , x_x;

4. Be Polite.

Try not to use capital letters too much. Also drain all offensive hints away. Read your post before submitting it. And try to deem if your offer is reasonable.

If the seller is not an experienced seller, or a rude one, keep your cool.

5. Make friends in the exchange forum.

Then things will be easier to sort out. =3

6. Item > Pure

Always. So the best way is to invest donation items and certain rares. Sealed is a fast and efficient investment. But pause before buying a store item, those are only going to go down.

A small list of rares or uncommens you should watch out for inflation:

Were tail

Headbands

Cat ears

Fox items

NM and Angelic items.

Others will rise slowly.

7. Don't be a profit whore. !!

Not all times will you make a profit. The inflation might suddenly go up a week after you sold your item. But try and keep as many donation items to your self as possible. Best to leave either a letter or one of each item in your inventory.

As a trend, donation items will rise.

8. Sealed.

The price of the sealed letter tend to go Up towards the end of the month, since everyone wants to get their hands on it before the items reveal and the prices go up even more. But there are odd monthes.

The new released items will go sky high for 3-5 days, then drop very low for a week, then stay at a price. But like I mentioned before, they do go up in value after a while.

eg. Solar Headdress 2 monthes ago, 4K. And now, 8K. Price doubled. =(

9. When you run out at a haggle.

When you offered everything you had, and their offer is a tweak higher, settle an agreement. =C

They send and hang the trade. If you did not earn the payment after the agreed time, they can cancel trade.

It'll only work with a diffrence of less than 5K, a nice person, and a good time range. For pure settlements, I suggest join a poll guild would help. =D

10. Don't get too upset!

These are just numbers ( 1s and 0s to be exact) in the computer! Nothing real. (Though I wish it is.) So don't get upset over an exploited deal or a bank glitch (That happened to me... 70K worth of items... down the drain =C).

Those are the first 10 that just popped into my mind. I might add more later. =C

Happy trading ^^

P.S: Don't forget the poll xD

Some more tips:

Remember the Magic Words. xD

You want to buy an item for 25k.

You
I would like to bid 25k please. <3

Don't do anything to have the seller hate you.

Look for the threads in the exchange with no replies stating to sell MCs. Those are the threads that might give you an easy buy.

Use proper English. mad People will take you more seriously if you stay away from 1337. An idea might be to download Mozilla Firefox which has a built in spell check.

OMGWTFBBQ??!! I'll never get enough for a Ninja Headband! I give up questing for life! evil

Is this you? You want an item so bad but think that you'll never have enough money? If you just want to wear the item and you know someone who has one, then you may be in luck. Ghosting an avatar is putting on any items you want that you may have borrowed from friends, or bought and have the intention of selling later, and then clicking Delete my Character, putting in your password, and dodging the Recreate my Character button. With this, your avatar still shows up like it was before you deleted your character, but you can freely trade and sell the items. Therefore, just borrowing an item from a friend for five minutes could fool people into thinking you have that item. The only downside is that you cannot change anything about your avatar.
