[first and foremost]
No one knows where it comes from. It takes hold of the mind, allowing it to be free, as a child's is. Whether reaction or delusion, it's the one thing that people live for. A chance to spin off into dreams, dreams so real, that it can only be called one thing. Wonderland.
The year is 1885, and the place is a fairly unknown bar in France named Le Papillon, a simple name for a place that will place that will play host to our story. The people are nine fairly unordinary people, but then, that's what everyone in the world has in common. They all have their stories to tell, and their quirks to act upon, but one thing will be their joining point. A drink called Green Fairy or Absinthe, a highly popular drink at this time.
Now, this isn't ordinary absinthe, no, that wouldn't fit into the story, something in it makes it quite powerful. Something Lovecraft would write home about. It takes you out of the world that you know, or maybe its a world that you do know. Alice In Wonderland is around twenty years of age at this point, mayhap you've read it? If you have, then you have a slight possibility of knowing this world. For nine friends, it's the world of Wonderland, the skewed sort. Down the rabbit hole and off you go into a strange portion of the mind, a place where your real self exists.
Then and again, maybe this isn't Wonderland. Its dark and scary, like something out a child's nightmare. Sure, all the features exist, but this is a place where the childlike innocence of Wonderland is lost to the darkness of adulthood. Here, who are you? Can you see yourself in this strange body? If you aren't in denial, then you should. This is you, your naked soul, running through this strange Hell.
There are seemingly no rules in Wonderland. Anything you can imagine can and most likely will happen. It's your dream, if you can get a hold of yourself, you can make anything possible. There is just one rule. You may never know anyone else's name. If you refer to yourself by your real name, then you'll find yourself unable to speak. That is the rule.
Not everything that happens in Wonderland is a dream. Whatever you do there happens in the real world as well. If you get too out of hand, the owner will snap you out of it. The dream wears off eventually, but you can bring it back with just one shot...
Nine friends. One dream. One shot.
----
The story will take place in and outside the dream. Outside the dream, they all live in Paris, in fairly grungy surroundings, depending on who they are. The friends have known each other for varying amounts of time.
The story starts off as they have just entered the dream for the first time.

[ vicious law enforcement] Readin'I'm expecting a fairly high level of literacy for this roleplay. There's a two full paragraph minimum on posts, but I don't expect much of the minimum unless you're in a conversation. Writers block happens to everyone, I'll let you have two short paragraphs or even one full sometimes if you need it. Please, please do not spend a very long time on trivial descriptions. I can assure you, your nails aren't that important. Please don't use Internet lingo, we're in 19th century France here. Please have near perfect spelling and grammar, if you really can't spell a word, put it through MS Word. There is also the latest version of Firefox, but I don't expect you to have that.
AestheticsI'll keep this short, since I have a short attention span. Please do not post in anything that's either blinding or excessively light. Please keep font size at a minimum of nine or at a maximum of eleven.
MaturityWhat happens in Wonderland does not exactly stay in Wonderland. This is mentioned in the plot. I'm allowing any and all kinds of relationships, and if you can't deal with that, then fine, I suggest you don't join. Just please, if you're going to go beyond the level of PG-13, timeskip it or take it off the site. As for blood, gore and violence, go ahead, just please, if you're going to do a very gory scene, then don't describe it in too great a detail, we all have imaginations here. As for swearing, go right ******** ahead. Just remember that they aren't the only adjectives you can use.
Playing the gameThere is no such thing as too powerful in this roleplay. I'm saying this, and I mean it. If you get cut in half, pick yourself up and put yourself back together. Just don't be annoying about it. You can't physically die in Wonderland, but you can get hurt in the real world if someone hits you with their bare hands. If they hit you with something else, then no, it doesn't hurt you in the real world. Just please DON'T CONTROL OTHER PEOPLE'S CHARACTERS FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODDESS. Please keep everything you do within the limits of the 19th century. Atomic explosions and laser guns and computers and mechs are beyond even the smallest speck of these people's minds. In going along with the 19th century, this is THE REAL 1800s. There are no computers, no cellphones or public telephones, and no bikinis. You can think however you like, depending on who you are.
ImaginationYay! You can do basically anything you want in your environment, and I suggest that you do. Throw your current style of roleplaying into abandon. Wonderland is supposed to be extremely surreal, "realistic" doesn't have a place in it. I ask that you keep it dark, because this roleplay is supposed to be have a macabre aura to it. Just don't go all emo on us, now. The only place where realism has a place is when we're out in the real world, and I suggest you get rid of your magic powers there.
RomanceIt happens. Like I said before, I'm allowing any type of romance here. Do not be afraid to cheat on your significant other, I'm begging you. They might just be your significant other, you (your character) would never know. If it isn't, love triangles are interesting. Keep it realistic, no wanting to get married within the first five minutes of meeting. And please, don't create your own little world that no one can get at, that'll ruin the roleplay. Communicate with people even after you have a relationship.
In and outAs was said in the plot, you can get to Wonderland by drinking a shot of absinthe. It's powerful s**t this club serves, but it does wear off eventually, and at different speeds for different people. It wears off gradually, remember. You can also be gotten out by the owner, and NPC who I'll control.
Dates, times, and the GMTI expect you to show up for this roleplay at least once a week, unless you have an excuse as to why you won't be (PM me if so). I'll give you a warning if you don't show up without warning for more than a week. If you don't show up for more than a month, then I'll get my shotgun. No, just kidding, I'll just clear your character, and you'll be banninated. Please wait for someone else to post before you go dropping the conversation on them, though, some of us might live across the world. I, for one, live on the East Coast (straight up) of the United States, EST. I won't get back to you on your profile until I wake up in the morning, I'm usually online at about 6am for a few minutes, and then I'm usually back on at 3pm, unless its the weekend, which is variable.
I reserve the right...To reject your profile, and kick you out if I feel it necessary. I can also change what day it is, though I'll try to let it take its natural course.
You reserve the right...TO PAAAAAAAAAARTAY! PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTAY! [run for your life!]

Okay, all the requirements are in the profile coding. The thread is over here. I'm not going to do all the password for getting in sort of thing, I figure, if you don't read the rules, then you won't last long.
[for it is a homogeneous world]
