But the modifications on their genes began to mutate and they became incredibly ill. Their bodies became weak and their absence in the city caused everything to go back to it’s horrible normalcy. As they became sicker, the scientists froze them in suspended animation until they could find a cure. 50 years passed and they never found it, the scientists died without completing their research.
Another 50 years passed and the lab fell to ruins, an explorer found their sleeping place and accidentally woke them up. Still weak, they flipped through the unfinished notes the scientists left and tried to make the cure themselves. Unfortunately, what they made was far from a cure, it only stopped the effects of the mutation for a small amount of time.
Some of the people, a little angry that they were chosen to do this unwillingly, went behind the backs of the others and began to steal and kill to get the material to make the medicine that’s keeping them alive.
Once the others find out about the doings of the ones who steal, they are conflicted, they want to stay live, but they want to do what they were meant to do, protect. Will they continue to protect the people that have come to love them, or will they join the ranks of the criminals they were meant to destroy? And...how long do they really have to live?

background: due to all the crime, he was forced to live out on the streets and he was taken while he was asleep. He woke up on an operating table and he was told his new purpose. He was glad that he had the opportunity to help others. But after his body started to get weaker as the years passed, he began to wonder weather the scientists had his, and the peoples, best interest in mind. When he was awoken 100 years later and found out there was still no cure, needless to say, he wasn’t happy. Once he found out the others were stealing and killing the people they were meant to protect, he was furious. But he didn’t say anything, he two loves are conflicting each other, the love to stay alive and the love to protect others. But as long as he’s staying alive, he’s going to pretend it’s not happening.
