~Basic Information~
Dark, black, dreary, dangerous.
These four words embody what is the marshlands. It is here that several of the more acidic dragons tend to make their presence. Those with dark skin, or with very white will stay here for protection from the sun and to remain hidden.
Crocodillian-like creatures often climb in and out of the thick swampy atmosphere, slinking about under the cover of the thick fog which haunts the marshalnds.
At one time it seems that it was a dstant part of the Tolin oak forests - there are many dead and darkened trees stretching towards the sky - but the ocean overwhelmed it and took it back into the sea. The silt and mud have send dammed up most of the salt intrutions and over time the marsh has become mostly fresh water. If you can call an algae infested world in any way fresh.
Animals here aren't necessarily cruel, but they remain secretive. Going about their business and wanting no one else to be a part of it.
Weather here is fairly constant. Rain is frequent in order to keep the marshes in tip top murky shape, and clouds and fog are almost always present. For this reason you have to know where you tread, or you could get sucked down in a place and never return.
~Settlements~
There are no actual settlementsin the marshlands for good reason. Nothing could support them. However, there are those who call themselves the marsh people.
They aren't a violent breed necessarily, but they do surround themselves with the swamp. It is their life, and it represents their very being. Typically they will have bone piercings through their nose and other painful looking places, mud smeared about their face. In their culture it is a sign of power and wealth. The more swampland you know how to navigate, the higher you are in value.
