The city has changed a great deal. As our heroes are slowly starting to notice, one by one, nearly an entire year has gone by in their absence of what seemed to them only a week.
The whole place looks a little bit... rougher. Street gangs are seen on the street much more frequently. Average people much less so.
Starbright and Amethyst have rushed ahead of the group, eager to get back to their Headquarters. Johan has only just noticed a newspaper with the date, with Pulverizer nearby in the alley. Tahla has departed from the group, wandering off on her own.
Starbright an Amethyst arrive outside the HQ about the same time. Even it seems a bit less taken care of than the rest of the city. The large double-doors are shut.

The newspaper seems to mostly contain bad news. It does contain an article detailing two major crime groups that have been dominating the area lately, both headed by mutants. They are called Mantra and Prima. The article contains very little information about them, but mostly demands to know why the police and such have not been dealing with them and keeping them in check.

((As Amethyst pushes open the door, the two can see into the lobby, a slightly decorated down version of the one they remember. About 30 feet ahead is the wide double staircase leading up into the rest of the base. Looking around the room, there seem to be four black domes hanging from the ceiling which one could only recognize as video camera positions. There are some lightbulbs that need replaced here and there in the overhead lighting and the floor doesn't look as well-polished as it has been in the past.))

(( As the two enter the lobby, a crackle can be heard over what seems to be a PA system. The crackling noise quickly dies out and a familiar-sounding voice, much less upbeat than before, is heard.))
