A friend of mine was asking me if I knew of a way to change black lines to blue... other than doing it pixel per pixel. I gave the option of flood fill and line, but those would take forever. She had heard of a way to do it much faster and began a search for the method again. She found it and was kind enough to tell me how it works. She also said it was alright to post here how she did it.

I finally figured it out. On MS Paint.
You put the color the line currently is (black) on the top color box (by left cliking on it). The color you want the line to be on the bottom box (say blue) you right click on it.
Then you take your eraser tool and move over the black line while pressing the right mouse button and it turns the black line blue. @w@

I tested it myself and it actually DOES work. So for those of you that have been having a horrid time trying to get a color to change to what you want... this may just be the quick and efficient way to do so on MS Paint.
It works even if you have more than one color... so fiddle with it, it's a lot of fun. <3

OMFG You mean earlier when I went pixel by pixel to change an outline color, I could have just done that?! xD

Also, there's another ((semi)) good way of changing any color easily when its too far spread to just use the fill bucket.

Make a box of the color you need big enough to fit the space you need colored. Use the eyedropper tool to make the foreground color box the same color as you want changed. Using the 'select' tool, make a copy of your image and paste it over the colored box with the 'transparent' option hilighted. But this really only works when the color being changed is neon green, black, white, or orange. Maybe its just my computer though, but my MSpaint doesn't let me do as much as others have suggested to me ((maybe because I'm on one of those old gateway 98s?))

I'm not sure your method would work for me... seems a bit... skewed and harder than the method Sapphy mentions.
But hell... anything that works is better than what i've been doing. xD

Well I hope that this method will work for you, you should test it. IT'll work on any art... even a fully finished piece. All other colors are left untouched. That's what thrilled me the most.
I could totally do a quick squiggly background and not worry about the actual image getting ruined!!

Hahaha!! I know what that feels like.
I keep using the wrong mouse button and erasing everything.... xD ....thank gawd for undo. <3

Oh, snap. I never thought to post about this tip. I've been dolling for years and years using this method, and it really does make it loads and loads easier! Thanks to Zelda for mentioning it. ^_^
