Intro

It was in the summer of my turning of sixteen, the time where childhood was still a magical haven that I often times found myself hiding in from the view of the world, and at the same time, it was a period of hopelessness. I was lost, captured in my family’s realm of fortune, blessed by my father’s riches, cursed by the very same thing all the while. We were still in the country, a beautiful place, where most of my memories came from, when a new face came into my life.

I was only sixteen, and I still remembered the autumn fog that would push us from the cottage, and back into the warmth of the city. I still thought back to the times where I would hide from the mist, flinging myself into the rich forest surrounding the village and the cottage, becoming dripping wet from the foliage around me. I was foolish those years before the summer, and still believed the stories of far off realms of mythical beasts. It wasn’t till Mr. Gallers, a farmer that moved to the abandon farm that was inside our expanse of property, did I begin to think that perhaps the old tales held some truth to them.

Setting

The Tales of Tuck Gallers is indeed set in the victorian era, in a rural community not to different from the country side of England during that precise time period. A large expanse of land was given to the family of Rickets, who had at once decided to only live on the outskirts of the forest, which most of the property drove in to. The Rickets had constructed a fairly large cottage for them to go to during the months of summer, while leaving the meadows and forest how they had recieved them; with a shaggy old barn with an attached rickety three room living area. However, once the Gallers moved into the land, and begun to sow the earth, the property instantly flourished with numerous gardens, ending at the forest.

Accepted Profiles

Username: Missyone
Name: Eevy Rickets
Age: Sixteen
Personality: By nature, a very curious sort of girl, although it is often times hidden by the petticoats, and white gloves of her society stature. Can be harsh with her words and thoughts with those that are lower then her, taking out her sorrow with hatred on those that are weaker then her.
Wealth: Wealthy
History: Miss Eevy Rickets was born on a cool December night, not to long before Christmas, facing north. This, plus her mother's cold heart, made Eevy a wretch of a child during her younger years, only to be settled by fables of mythical lands that were brewed in the minds of Mr. Thompson and Mrs. Thompson every night for ten years before the child finally calmed some. By then the damage had already been done, and dreamed of the far away lands constantly, running off into the woods to locate these imps and faeries that she so often heard and dreamed of. It was when they went to the cottage when the parents of Eevy saw the most change. She was never to be found, telling her parents at night that she was mapping out the forest for lessons. Neither adults nor children enjoyed talking to Eevy, that was until Mr. Gallers came to town, along with his two sons, who Eevy instantly bonded with.
Appearance: A heightly young woman, her long frame being captured by tight dresses and that of a proper young lady. A cascading braid of musky brown hair falls just below her sharp shoulders during the summer, a more freeing look for her quests. A pair of round grey eyes are always moving, searching for something, starring only at things that could be a sign from the legendary kingdoms she wishes to visit. Like that of her mother, she has sharp cheekbones, thin pressed lips and overly large eyes for her face. It is not that she is the most beautiful of girls, for that would be incorrect to say so, but something about her, perhaps just a wisp of hair, holds a secret that most find irrestitible, and something that she cannot understand.

Username: Silver_Strife
Name: Tamith Emiliana Swanson
Age: 16
Personality: Is groomed to have an unbreakable determination when she knows she's right, and is naturally a bright, intelligent girl. Her weakness comes from her emotions; Though they normally power her and fuel her undying cheerfulness, one touch of the right button will crash her right down.
Wealth: Poor
History: A summer child with a summer personaility, everything Tamith, usually "Tam" does is with her whole heart. She grew up poor, but happy, always told to do her best, and never ever any less then that.
Because of her parents avid encrouagement of many of her exploration activities, Tam grew up to be a world-wise, sharp, and generally tomboy-ish girl. This was the only part that upset her parents. Her keeping her hair short, and wearing boys clothes was firmament her never getting married to anyone rich.
That's when Tam reasoned that it didn't matter: she didn't want to.
She now works for the Rickets in thier stable, her skills offsetting her strange appearence. At 16, she already is a skilled groom for horses, and has a gift with many other animals. Her parents are the main reasoning behind her unwaverig determination.
Appearance: Tam has short, short hair of a deep, dark red-brown. It doesn't even go past her ears. She has normal lips, and a phenomenal smile for just the strength of unbridled spirit behind it. She, like Evey, has wide eyes, only hers are a bright, inquisitive green. She's medium, almost small, of stature, with a slim, strong frame from her stable work. Her clothes are usualy tough, and designed for men, and unless she knows your coming, she'll be decidedly dirty from work.

Username: Runefox
Name: Tuck Gallers
Age: 17
Personality: Tuck is smart, but many see him as a back-woods hick. He is kind, generous, and a nature lover.
Wealth: Poor
History: Tuck and his family have moved from place to place, taking the magic of stories everywhere with them. If you have a good story, then anywhere is home. He has traveled everywhere he could, seen many things...and brought magic through over fifty towns.
Appearance: Tuck is tall, with nut-brown skin from being out in the sun. In contrast, the sun bleached his hair to a brown with large streaks of blond. He is slender, but rugged. His hands are coated in calluses from working hard, and every muscle in his wiry body is strong.

Miss Eevy Rickets,

It has been, unfortunately, a long while since I have last made your presence. The summer seems to pass so slowly here in the city without you and your family. Soon, hopefully very soon, my family shall bring me along with them to the cottage, and once again we can be united.

Mr. Thomas Gray

Once more she read over the scribbled writing, darting between letters and lines with her narrowed eyes. He had no right mocking her in such manner. Even though his words would be taken as him being sweet on her from an adult’s view, to her it meant nothing but a shackle upon her already ironed ankle.
“Mr. Thomas Gray…” Eevy spat the name, adding emphasize to the title of Mr. Thomas Gray. It was summer, and all memories of the winter months had escaped her mind. Well, almost all of them.

The sun streaked through the parlor in beams of dusty light, making the room appear to catch the sun’s blood in all of its entirety. Casting the letter upon the desk from which she had found it, she moved away from the high ceiling room, pounding with her feet on the wooden floor like a child throwing a tantrum. It wasn’t fair. She had to be cooped up with nothing to do but read letters from pampered snobs who lived far off away from where her paradise stood. Outside would be beautiful on a day such as this, and yet there she stood admiring the view from a large window in the farthest corridor from the parlor.

Tamith was a busy, busy being.
Humming a tune to herself that people had long been accustomed to hearing from her, she spun the pitchfork she held in her left hand in a series of complicated turns and twists that managed to get the ungangly item through one of the narrower parts of the stable. She had never really learned how to do that, she just knew how.
She smiled as she spun the tool, and spun herself in a circle to get on the good side of the hay she was baling into the loft,
To her, the day had just begun;there was much to be done!
As she flung the hay, however, she ditched the humming for singing the folk-tune quietly; it's not like it mattered, no one else bothered her in her work, and she was constantly looking for new things to do since she finished her normal set of chores so fast. Her voice wasn't particularly remarkable, but it wasn't unpleasant. Bright and cheery, for the most part.
Still, after finishing the chores, usually she pampered the horses. Not enough to make them fat, but one could easily tell they were the happiest creautres for miles.

Sun spilled across the hallway, her hand pulling back the lace curtains to further admire the view. It wasn’t much, but still, it was outside. Some place she yearned to be. From above, the stables were the most prominent feature of their vast yard, falling away to the woods and the Galler’s farm off in the distance.

Sighing a bit to herself, the rather depressed young lady gathered her skirt in her hands, and slammed her feet on the wooden floor till she reached the stairs, which then took her to the carved front door. No one was going to stop her from enjoying the fresh air, not even her horrid mother.

The air stung at her nostrils with a mixture of manure and lilacs, a trait that she had not thought of while looking out of her prison. Glancing once more at the window which she had just momentarily stood at, she shivered. Not only would her mother see the dirt and grass stains she was expecting to receive during the afternoon, but she would smell her coming from a mile away.

Tam hadn't heard the young woman comming. She had finished baling the majority of the hay upwards, and was feeding what was left to the horses.
She dide look up fter a moment, though, and greeted the young woman with a bright smile and a cheerful," Hello, Miss!"
Tam had long known Eevy's distaste for indoors, a trait that matched Tam's own, and Tam had tried to help ther girl in anyways she found that she could...usually, that just meant having the horses ready to go at any time.

“Good afternoon, Tam.” She responded, sniffling once at the strong whiff of horse droppings that was caught in her pointed nose. The barn was her portal to escape, the horses her carriage. It had been over two weeks since they had left the city, and yet, she had not gone riding. Every summer it grew worse, her mother would wrap Eevy tighter into their ways, obscuring her eyes from the natural wonders that surrounded the cottage. It was a thought that one day; they would just stop taking the long journey from the city to the cottage all together, and remain in the stuffy streets.
“Tell me; is there any way to escape this place?” She asked aloud, her eyes tracing over the faint outline of hoof prints on the sand. It actually wasn’t a question, but more of a code for Tam to come with her into the forest, as friends should do.

Tam smiled softly, and nodded, having clearly caught Eevy's idea. After having used the same basic code for a long time, it was second nature.
"I know a few ways that might intrest you, miss."Tam said with a nod," Would you like to see?"
Truthfully, Eevy could probably conduct her way around the forest fairly well by herself. The sole reason Tam counted herself any better was because she saw the place every day!

"Then show the way.” Eevy was already thinking of a better outfit for such a trek, but ruining her mother’s favorite gown of hers was just a minor problem that she would have to deal with. Honestly, there were others things to be worried about.

A high pitched whinny came from the barn, adding to the flurry of noise and activity around the Thompson’s cottage. It was a miracle that the house never let any racket seep through the stone walls.
“Perhaps we can go and visit Mr. Gallers.”
