The Ravenclaw common room is accessed by a wooden door with no doorknob, but a bronze eagle knocker. You must answer a riddle correctly to enter.

And I know it's not right
And I guess I should try to do what I should do
But I could fall in love, fall in love with you
I could fall in love with you

Maddox felt her slump forward and caught her, looking at that shiny black hair. His lips still tingling from their kiss and his head spinning a bit from sheer and utter good feelings. Every hair was standing up (except the ones on his head, they were too heavy) and he felt like he could burst into song like in a musical . . .

But the moment was ruined by the realization that he was standing there looking desperately guilty with Masika slumped in his arms like a rag doll and the only thing he could think was: Ho s**t. Zaidin could be coming at any moment. Zaidin will see us. Zaidin will be crushed.

" <******** glanced around the deserted hall and picked her up, answering the riddle to be allowed into the Commonroom and set her in a chair and giving her another shake.

Do you know how hard it is the think of something logical to do when your brain was numbed by horomones and minor panic over every sound the tower made (He'd convinced himself Zaidin was around every corner)?

Taking a deep breath, Mad ran his fingers through his hair and tried to think of what people were supposed to do when someone fainted.

Put their feet up? Was that it?

He pushed Zaidin from his brain--He'd talk to the guy when he came in. He'd have to. No way around it.

He focused on Masika now, putting her feet up and fanning her with a pillow.

When he imagined her laying down with him above her, it wasn't quite like this.

"Green, the color of the trees that grow while I am barely breathing
Entangled in hate and love
I can’t tell if I am numb or feeling"

User ImageMasika's body laid on the couch, lifeless...physically anyway...but mentally she was alive and kicking. She was kicking, all right. She was mentally kicking herself in the face. That was a stupid thing to do. She lead him on. She and Kennedy...and then...Zaidin...and...

Her body demanded air and she woke up, taking a deep breath of crisp Ravenclaw tower air.

"Where am I?" she asked, looking around the common room. It was unfamiliar, but at the same time...it was like home and it was relaxing. And she looked up at Maddox and blinked.

"...s**t...did...we...I...um...?" she babbled, confused. She wasn't in the right state of mind. No, Maddox had seduced her. He had planned it all...Making it look like just normal small talk and then...it was like he had punched her in the face. He used that wonderful cologne that lulled her into an altered state of consciousness...

It was like date rape...except they weren't you know...dating. She turned red and her stomach did a backflip. But that kind that happens when you've got the stomach flu...or a bad case of salmonella. She felt sick and dirty...like she just had four hour sex in a church with her girlfriend while practicing witchcraft...and God couldn't look away.

It was all so wrong...but...she wanted more. More, more, more. Like a greedy child wanting another cookie because four wasn't enough. Four wasn't the right number. Ten sounded better. So much better, a powerful number. A number that could work wonders in the workplace... It was so perfect. Just like Maddox was tonight.

She wanted to pull him closer and press her lips to his and retrieve more of his sweet nectar. She wanted to be his and only his. She needed to cut the ties between her promises, actions and future. They needed to be placed into small jars on the shelf for later retrieval, but now...she wanted all of that promise jar and the boy it belonged to right now.

Is it still me that makes you sweat?
Am I who you think about in bed?
When the lights are dim and your hands are shaking as you're sliding off your dress?
Then think of what you did
And how I hope to God he was worth it.

"Did we . . . ? "

Oh.

Eh.

Maddox swallowed, pursing his lips and rubbing the back of his neck. He was totally tempted to just tell her that they had, and go into deep skin tingling detail over the whole ordeal. But he decided to save her a freak out (and risk of her fainting again), "No. We didn't. "

Not that he didn't consider it or anything. Actually, he quit tempted by the thought, but, just like Jesus, he resisted. He could feel his a** glowing in ******** righteousness.

Mad sat next to her, giving her a smile. She'd scared him a bit, just dropping like that.

"Do you do that every time someone kisses you or just me? Am I really that good or was that a panic thing . . . ?" He took out his wand and mumbled a spell, giving her a cup and then filling it with water.

That came out sounding a bit cockier than he had meant it, but he decided to ignore that. Resting his head against her shoulder and giving her a cute little look. He was a bit glad that they were at least alone. They probably should discuss a few things in the next couple minutes or so, making an alibi, anything . . .

Like her being a lesbian.

That was the biggest thing he wanted to discuss. Whether she liked boys, girls, or chicken fried crispy. It would be nice to know where they stood at this point, particularly if he was going to get bitched out by Zaidin and Ophelia and Kennedy. If his face, pride, and dignity were going to be all over the common room, he was definitely going to get an answer to all that.

"And though I may know
I don't care
Just for this moment
As long as you're mine
Come be how you want to
And see how bright we shine
Borrow the moonlight
Until it is through
And know I'll be here holding you
As long as you're mine"

User Image Masika turned a bright cherry red. Maraschino cherry red, to be exact. It flooded her face, popping out from behind dark skin and resting gently on her face like dew in the summer mornings.

"Uh...I...um..." Her voice was quiet...timid. The air surrounding the pair was awkward and tense. She didn't know what to say. She didn't want to talk. No, she just wanted him again.

"It was just...a..." she paused to think for a minute. She didn't want to hurt his feelings by saying it didn't mean anything. Because it did. It meant the world to her. "Pleasant surprise...is all." her face flushed that bright, violent red again and she giggled.

She looked him straight in the eye and took the glass of water, drinking every last drop. She felt his head on her shoulder and looked down at him and laughed at his cute little face. She let her head rest on his head, cushioned by a pillow of soft curls.

"No one has to know . . ." she whispered softly into his hair, snuggling in closer to him. ". . . At least not right now . . ." she added as an after thought, wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him closer.

She wanted to be with Maddox right now. She needed to be with someone who wasn't...incestral like Zaidin was growing to be. Zaidin was a good kid...

But practically like her brother.

Incest was not in Masika's list of things to do.

...ever.

Maybe I'm brainless
Maybe I'm wise
But you've got me seeing
through different eyes
Somehow i've fallen under your spell
And somehow I'm feeling
It's up that I fell.

Her blush was the cutest thing he'd ever seen in 17 years of life.

He touched her cheek, smiling. There had been about 10 girls he'd seen become flustered over him. Cocky as that sounded, it was the truth. Ten girls who face had flushed red with his Casanova-esque way of handling them. But he saw her differently. Something about Masika's blush was different. It just made him want to kiss her again, and again. That blush on her face was better than any make up or dress she could possibly wear.

He relaxed, leaning back against the couch and holding her closer to him. She was warm and smelled nice and . . . he just wanted to stay like this a moment longer. Where he didn't have to share her or deal with anyone else. It was just him and her in a blue and bronze oasis.

. . . except that oasis was in a school . . . a big, drafty, castle with paintings watching them . . .

Shut up, Maddox. Be romantic for, like, 30 seconds. Alright? Alright.

"You're right. For right now . . . it'll be our little secret."

He looked at her neck a second, and an idea sneaked into head of his and a little devil Maddox popped upon his shoulder and uttered, "Do it! Do it!"

So he did.

He kissed Masika's neck.

"And you've eaten something minty
And you're making that face that I like
And you're going in, in for the kill, kill
For the killer kiss, kiss for the kiss, kiss"

User ImageMasika was innocently cuddling with a rapist. Because one minute she was ready to drift off to sleep held in the arms of possibly the cutest boy in Ravenclaw. . .

And then he's got to kiss her neck.

Neck kissing to Masika was very...stimulating. Her neck was her major turn on point, and Maddox's lips were all over it, looking for the switch. Their search was in vain because the switch was already flipped.

Her breaths came in sharply and, before she did something she'd really regret, she placed her index and middle finger under his chin and pulled his head up and pressed her lips gently back to his.

She felt like a jigsaw puzzle. No, that was cliché. She felt... like a mosaic in the streets of Spain. It was pretty to look at, but somehow, over time it was slightly deteriorating...and now it was restored.

Completed.

Yeah, that jigsaw puzzle comparison was better.

She heard something in the background of her musical montage...but it didn't register in her head as any sort of threat.

Until she realized she just broke two things.

"What the ******** friendship and a heart.

"Sometimes
Some lies
Can take a minute
To fully realize
His tears
Your eyes
Thirty seconds to apologize."

"What the ********?"

Maddox froze and he would swear to go for the rest of his life that the words echoed. That he could hear Zaidin's heart breaking into a thousand pieces all over the entrance to the common room. Caught red handed, he closed his eyes and didn't dare look to his "best friend". He just stopped moving, stopped breathing, and tried to stop hearing his voice over and over again. His brain buzzed--this time not with the pleasure that had filled his brain when he'd kissed Masika-- his head filled with a hum in his ears that blocked out all other sounds, but amplified others and his heart dropped right into his a**. s**t.

Slowly, Maddox climbed off the couch and forced himself to look at Zaidin. Glancing briefly at Ophelia, who looked as if she'd cry herself, and then back Z. He couldn't think of anything to say. No excuse would cover this one. No jokes, no witty comment, nothing would make this better. No pretty band-aid made of laughter and giggles would make this boo-boo sting any less.

"Zaidin . . . I am so sorry . . . "

He heard himself mumble it a few more times. Like that was the only thing he could possibly say. The only thing that he could even thing of doing. Apologizing. Over and over and over and over again. One 'I'm sorry' after another. Like saying it thirty thousand times would atone for breaking(shattering) the heart that was big enough to fit all of ******** London in it.

In his mind's eye, he saw a million times when Zaidin had been standing next to him, coaxing him out of bed, giving his nuggies, a kick in the a** when he needed it, and a place to sleep when he didn't want to deal with Adele or his mother. He saw a million instances where his best friend could have walked away, but didn't. And all he could think about was the one time he could have walked away himself and stood by Zaidin, but didn't. He'd taken several steps forward and kissed Masika. Kept kissing her.

's**t' didn't even cover it.

"From the time you said hello and what’s your name
You were work of art playing me like a little game
Now you can break my heart and I will love you just the same"

User Image Zaidin didn't believe his eyes. He refused to listen to what his eyes were telling him.

You're lying. he told them mentally and closed his eyes. He reopened them and still saw the guilty pair in front of him. His traitorous "friends".

But, at least Maddox had the balls to look at him. His eyes flitted to look at Masika and she was sitting there, hand over her mouth and focused on some very interesting point on the fireplace. He knew she knew she ******** up. That was when he felt his heart implode in his chest, and he almost needed to sit down to keep from dying.

Maddox was just apologizing his a** off, like if he did it enough magic would happen and it would all be fixed.

"Sorry doesn't cut it this time." Zaidin said flatly. "I don't think the Americans bought it when Benedict Arnold pulled it, so I don't know why you're expecting me to." His voice wavered and he felt light headed. He showed no signs of weakness.

Zaidin turned to Masika who hadn't moved since he caught them.

"And you. . . Oh you. . ." he said, his hurt and sadness turning to almost angry hysterics. "So much for being a lesbian, huh? So much for sticking your tongue down other girls throats while I just stood by and waited for you. So much for me waiting for you for nearly five years while you fooled around and tried to be someone you're not." He couldn't take this. This was treason, territory he'd prefer not to tread on.

"I. . . I loved you, Masika." he said, the slightest ounce of emphasis on 'loved'. He looked at her again, to see the guiltiest face he'd ever seen.

He sighed and turned back to Maddox, anger flaring in his mind, but his face remained calm as he approached the boy he trusted as his "best friend" removing the 'Best Friends Forever' ring from his pinky finger and placing it back into Maddox's hand.

"I don't ever want to see your faces again." He said, turning to head to the boys dormitories, wiping a single traitorous tear from his eye.

Even my eyes are traitors. He thought viciously.

"You promised the world and opened up your door
And the words you fed left me wanting more
Now I’m left here locked out looking for a key to score."

"Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly."

Maddox looked down and nodded his head, he could feel his hair bouncing a bit. Zaidin had ever right not to look at him, so he wasn't about to press the issue. He'd just leave the boy alone for a few days, let him blow off some serious steam.

But that was easier said than done. He didn't know what he'd do without Zaidin for a few days. Even during the summer the boys spent a lot of time together--he basically lived at the other boy's house . . . and here they were even more notorious for being together and wreaking havoc and . . .

He had just blown it all on a girl.

Was that worth it?

Didn't the code go: 'Bros before hos'? But what if you felt like you could really be happy with that ho? Can't you have them both at the same time? And if you can't, why not?

That's when he made the decision that he was just going to stay away from Masika awhile. Just until he could work things out with Zaidin . . . They both needed some serious time to think things over. 'See where the cookie crumbled', as his mother liked to say.

He glanced at the ring a long second and tucked it in his robe pocket. Patting it and trying to push away any memories it brought on.

”Even a pencil can defeat a sword,
if used properly and put to the right tests.”

The currently reinstated brunette came upon the entrance to the common room, gave the area a quick run-down over her shoulder, tapped the bronze knocker. Unfortunately, their common room enjoyed riddles. Adela never quite fancied them. She sighed and awaited as it asked its riddle: If you're rowing upstream and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes will fit in the dog house? She shook her head. This riddle was completely ridiculous, but someone had slipped her an answer previously. It needed an equally ridiculous answer. Her lips parted and she uttered a string of words. "Purple, because waffles don't make good roof tiles." She awaited to the answer, and the knocker told her it was close enough.

Proceeding into the common room, Adela wasn't quite sure what to think. Her previously chatty house members were now quiet. So that wasn't odd, but considering who it was, and that she'd observed them talking earlier, she knew at least two to not be the silent types. I must have walked in on something, her brain calculated instantly. She seemed to be rather good at doing this, too. Even so, I wonder what has been going on in my absence?

Shrugging it off, she made her way to a chair near the bookshelf and pulled out a book she'd read at the end of her previous term. "This one seems good..." she spoke softly, seeming to ignore them. The words and plot of the book were still fresh in her mind, but she wasn't really reading anyway. Her eyes followed the lines of words fine, and she turned the page without seeming to speed read, but she was an observer. And observers observed things. Especially if it could help them avoid a problem or other later. And by the looks of it, she certainly wanted to avoid this problem as much as possible, but still know something of it. Or what would occur after the actual issue.

Ania entered the common room breathing heavy. She had stuffed her face at the feast and walking up ALL those stairs and the stairs up to the tower was a difficult feat indeed. Not to mention how uncomfortable these damned clothes are she scratched at the cotton wool skirt, then fluffed her annoyingly blonde hair, and made her way through the large beautiful room. She curtsied respectfully at the Rowena statue as she passed, who winked at her and smiled, before she sat in a comfy blue chair, lined with bronze. This was her home. She snuggled up comfortably in her favorite chair, it was near a window and close enough to the fire that she was warm, but she could still see the owls swirling around in the misty nighttime air outside searching for the owlery.

Sighing she turned about and tilted her head to the side watching the inhabitants of the Ravenclaw common room. She had seen Masika and Maddox having a conversation and they looked troubled so she had left them alone. She also saw Zaidin come in and had waved but then quickly dropped her hand seeing him become part of the conversation ensuing around her. Shaking her head she watched as a Ravenclaw, whom she was surprised she'd never met, walked in and noticed herself that something was going on and uncomfortably she had scuttled over to the bookshelf and sat down grabbing a book.

Now normally you didn't want to interrupt a Ravenclaw when she had her talons into a book but Ania knew better. She'd done it before and this brunette seemed to be doing the same. Her eyes scanned the pages much to quickly for her to be enjoying a nice read. Sure most of them could read fast but Ravenclaw's loved to sink into the book, read between the lines, imagine details and string together ideas that form by reading slowly or sometimes re-reading the pages. She smiled and shook her head. The girl was avoiding their conversation.

For a few moments Ania sat staring at the ceiling, and after the grey lady swept through her and she got over the feeling of being placed into mist, she stood and decided to introduce herself to the girl. She walked briskly over to the bookshelf sliding easily past the familiar tables and chairs scattered higgedly-piggedly about and sat in the chair opposite her. Ania smiled at her and crossed her legs before clearing her throat and speaking.
"Bit stuffy in here aye?" she nodded over to the three people who sat uncomfortably talking quietly together. "I know 'ow you feel, The names Annibelle but please call me Ania," She held out her hand and shook the other girls before stretching back into her chair. "Surprised I've never seen you before...eh excuse me..." Ania reached into her pocket and extracted her wand, quickly transfiguring her hair back into her favorite shade of bright blue. "Thats better..." she smiled again and shook her ponytails getting used to the cold sensation it always sent along her scalp.
