Everyone knows symbolism is something us zutarans love. So why not have a discussion about it? You can discuss symblosism on the show, in everyday life, or just something you come up with on your own!

The symbolism for Zutara is usually really fun, but I came to my wits end when people started drawing hearts in the water/fire whips from Xroads of Destiny.
Anyone else agree that it was a little too far? I think the fact that Zuko was using a waterbending type move should have been enough for the squeeing; pretending they formed into hearts was a little too far for me.

Speaking of Zuko's water bending style... I wonder how many more water bending moves we will see from him in the future, hopefully Katara will teach him some.

This is some thing I found online having to do with ancient beliefs about eclipses, It makes me think that once the sun and moon meet in the sky that is when Zutara will happen. "But not all peoples have been afraid of eclipses. There is an Amazonian myth that describes how the Sun and the Moon were lovers. They loved each other so much that the Sun's light scorched the Earth and the Moon's tears drowned it. So it was decided that they should live apart in the sky and only be allowed to touch each other's shadow, during an eclipse." link

I think you're onto something Jenga!
8D that would make me extremely happy if that were the true Zutara moment, or at least the birth of the true Zutara. Since I have this feeling that the producers won't be actually making any romantic relationships during the seasons, only at the end some pairings will be revealed.....or something like that.
I read a fanfic recently, where the solar eclipse happens, and Zuko almost dies during it, since he was at the Northpole with Katara. It was a well written fanfic I liked it very much. :3

I've heard about some stories where the sun and moon are in love with each other... And they're not fanfics either, there actual myth type things. Which just goes to show that Zutara was destined to happen even before the idea of the show was concieved.

I think symbolism is great! A lot of Avatar is based on Japanese and Chinese mythology, and they put in a lot of symbolism for the myths and legends they've been influenced by.
We all know that Brian and Mark know we exist and pay a lot of attention to their fans, so I think it's quite believable that they've playing to Zutara shippers with symbolism.
The fire forming hearts things made me laugh. I thought the symbolism of Zuko learning water bending styles means more than that. The subtle stuff, really subtle, makes me think it's that much more important. The hearts seem too obvious, but that's just me.
