Its brightest star is called Acrux, a combination of its Greek-letter designation (Alpha) and the name of the constellation. Acrux, which represents the foot of the cross, is a double-star system 200 light-years away. Despite its small area, Crux contains at least ten open clusters visible with small telescopes.
Because it is not visible from most latitudes in the Northern hemisphere, Crux is a modern constellation and has no Greek or Roman myths associated with it. Crux was used by explorers of the Southern hemisphere to point south since, unlike the north celestial pole, the south celestial pole is not marked by any bright star.

Appearance____________________
Hair: light red, with highlights of whitebonde. It is pretty long, the ends touching her mid-back. Her bangs lace her face, the longest falling to her collar bone.
Eyes: vivid green
Skin: pale
Clothes: A white spaghetti top tanktop, with a deep dark red suitike-jacket over it. The jacket has 3/4 length sleeves, with golden buttons, and some golden vines around the bottom of the jacket, around the sleeve cuffs, and on the collar. Her skirt is the same colour, fallin to about mid-thigh, with the gold detailing along the bottom of the skirt. Her shoes are open toed sandels, laced up to mid-calf like a ballerina slipper, again in that deep red. She wears crescent moon dangling earrings, a simple delicate chain around her neckand wrist, and buckles (on her ankle) shaped like crescant moons, all in a gold a few shades lighter than the gold on her skirt and jacket.
Other: her ears, while not elongated, come to a sharp point.
