trumpets can take the place of a trombone. One composer I've heard of, actually instead of having trombones played, required for the part something known as a Bass Trumpet. Awesome sound to that thing..Trule awesome. ^_^ I want one.

A bass trumpet? So basically just a baritone, marching style. Heh, baritone is just the equivalent of trombone in that sense, but trombones are better. We get cool glissando parts! But all low brass is cool.

Go brass! I play tuba. it rules, but I rarely get cool parts. Usually keep the beat. Oom-pah.

Nuh uh, not the same thing as a baritone, just marching style. A baritone has, I believe, a larger bore. It also ahs a different sound. Look it up sometime.
