Hello, I am the Captain here. My name is Yvette and I am 22. My birthday is coming up on Jan.6. My family came to America in the 1600's from Ireland where we were in exile. We are from Scotland originally. My ancestor, Sir Roger Kirkpatrick, aided Robert the Bruce by "killing" an adversary who had laid claim to the throne of Scotland. By doing so, we were given the Castle of Closeburn and it is also where my family motto comes from, I Mak Sikkar. The story goes...In that time Robert the Bruce was in line for the Scottish crown. But there was another family that had a claim. There was a meeting at Grey Friar's Church in Dumfries, Scotland with this person and his clan, where he was stabbed. When all the men were out of the church my ancestor asked, "Is it done?" No sure answer was given. So my ancestor went back in and stabbed the man again to make sure, or I Mak Sikkar. Currently I have three known names in my family tree: Colquhoun, Douglas and Nithsdale. There are many tartans, but the only one here close to mine is the blue plaid kilt and matching items.

Standing in over four acres of secluded gardens and mature woodland, Trigony started life as the Shooting Lodge for Closeburn Castle. Now home to the Moore family. This lodge is what remains of a rebuild after a fire around 1300-1400. We were pushed off the land soon after due to a change in monarchy.
