Misplaced/Spam Threads
When there's a thread that doesn't belong, what do at least ten people who visit it do? Post that it doesn't belong. These posts usually come in a few different forms.
Example: YOU'RE A MORON, GO PLAY IN TRAFFIC!
Yes, it's frustrating when people post stupid threads. I know, I'm a human too. But this is just as useless as the first kind of post, and possibly has more negative things about it than the first. Rather than getting yourself worked up about a stupid thread, PM me and I'll move it. Problem solved.
Harassment and Abuse
We all know how frustrating it is when somebody is being blatantly stupid. And we all know how much we'd like to just go on a rant at them, saying how much they suck and that they're stupid, but really, this just makes you look like a fool too. Then they'll probably get angry and try flaming you back. This goes on and on until it's a full-fledged flamewar. And yeah, you might enjoy yourself, but it's certainly not fun for users actually trying to have a discussion in the thread you're hijacking.
When somebody starts flaming you, don't flame back, just get a mod and if it's serious enough we'll just fix the problem. And don't think it's going to have some sort of effect on the general population's perception of how "macho," you are, because honestly, they'll be too relieved that you didn't clutter up their forum with nonsense flaming to think you're some sort of wuss. Also, like I said, it makes you look silly if you do get into a mindless flamewar.
