You'll change your mind with what I say next. There's a reason why we have it different. I live in the Green Belt, which is an area of Canada with the best soils for growing crops. In our summer, between July and September, is the highest production time. So...they make our school time different so that we can work the hard times during the summer as well.

My mind is officially Changed!
We have our Summers -different from the rest of the states- during rainy season because where we are is so close to the water table that you get floods a bunch, so bad that we actually got stuck in our house one time, with water to our ankles outside...I hate my dogs that day. That was before KAt moved down though, it hasn't flodded since then, then agian our town moto is: Gem of the Hills. we live at the top of one of the highest hills in Florida, so it's not so bad. The big thing now is all these stupid Bomb-threats, we've had 4 at the two main Hs's in the past month, it's such a pain!
