The post that started it all....

Casiela
Yes. My faith is kind of a mish-mash of other faiths. Christ figures prominently in it, yes, but so do the other great prophets and a number of non-religious historical figures. But on All Hallow's Eve, the veil between this world and the next is thinnest, and one can communicate fairly freely with the recently departed. I consider it fairly sacred.
It's a Pagan tradition, which Christians transmuted into a frivilous children's holiday in their attempt to stamp out Pagan worship. People would dress their children in ugly, ill-made costumes to make wandering spirits think they weren't worth kidnapping. Every short person in a costume got candy, in case it was a spirit that needed to be appeased.

So. This is a thread for the discussion of things religious in nature. If you're gonna debate homosexuality, I think you'll need your own thread. Other than that, this is the place to ask and answer, debate, discuss, and share. Spamming, flaming, and/or trolling will result in bad things happening to your Guild Membership ID.
What? You mean Wing hasn't been making guild ID cards? But.... but... Damn you,Wing, get crackin'!

Wow! A whole thread, I just wanted to know about your beliefs...I only know Christians so I was interested in hearing something else, it's a hobby of mine.

You said that Christ and other prominent religious figures mish-moshed made up your faith, so I was just curious as to well, all of it, but how Christ fits in, being the one nagging most at my brain. (How’s that?)

Jesus Christ was an important spiritual leader and teacher, someone who delved deeply into mysteries us ordinary humans usually don't dare to contemplate. He knew a great deal, and ideally should have taught what he knew to many more people than he was able to. Humanity's fear killed him before he was able to complete his task, which was - and is - a crying shame. He's been trying to finish his work, but that spirals off into my whole afterlife theory, which can take a very long time in order to relate it thoroughly.
Suffice it to say, Christ was a good man who could have done great things, if only he hadn't been trying to help humans.

Warning, I may sound extremely rude, I’m not trying it just comes out like that a lot

I believe Hinata put it best when she said, “you could debate on cheese and be happy”

I LOVE THIS THREAD! However I have been known to become a bit of a monster in situations like this, so naturally I’ve only become that much more interested by what you’ve said (in other words tell me if when I get to buggy):

Humanity's fear killed him before he was able to complete his task, which was - and is - a crying shame.

So this tells me that you don’t believe the OT, however without that foundation Christ was just a psycho claiming to be the son of God, how does being Psychotic make hi a religious leader, Hitler believed that it was Gods work for him to kill all those inferior to him, I.E. those with blonde hair and blue eyes. Does that make Hitler a religious leader?

Difference between Hitler and Christ- Hitler was killing people, Christ was helping them. So what if Jesus Christ was nuts? Who on thisp lanet isn't, to some degree or another? Look at me- I'm arguing religion with a cartoon character online and listening to Kelly Clarkson while trying to come up with the most dramatic and fitting way to kill off a character in one of my stories.
Being crazy has nothing to do with being good or evil. In the end, all that matters is what you do with your insanity. I'd have to say Lanzer and VO are pretty crazy, too; I know the kind of time and coding that goes into Gaia, not to mention the money.

On a side note- blonde-haired, blue-eyed Aryans were considered by Hitler and his followers to be a superior race. They were Hitler's ideal humanity, and his goal was to erradicated everyone who wasn't blonde with blue eyes.
Which is kind of odd, because Hitler himself was dark-haired and dark-eyed. What kind of weirdo promotes a perfect race if he's not a member of said race?

Non-denomnation Chirstian. Love_to_live loves doing debates on this. Me I don't really care but it's interesting to hear what people have to say about this kinda of stuff. It affects people different. I've met quite a vairty of religions before. So it's interesting. I'm just a plain old Nondenation chirstian. I could sum it in a nutshell later. So casiela, what would you say about after life? So much you've only giving stuff on Jesus Chirst. Yeah, I debates xd

Casiela's Theory of the Afterlife
the Short Version

(I warn you now, this will be stated as fact, if only because I get mighty tired of tacking I think or I believe onto the beginning of every other sentence.)

The way I see it, when you die, one of three things happens to you; either you're reincarnated, sent to the Havens, or sent to Hell. Reincarnation ties into my theory of soulmates, so I guess I'll have to explain that, too, at least in part.

Reincarnation: Okay, soulmate time. Once upon a time, your soul was part of another, greater soul. That soul lamentably split into two souls. Somewhere out there is someone with the other half of your soul- your soulmate. One of a human's greatest missives in life is to find their soulmate. Sadly, a single lifetime usually isn't long enough. If, by the time you die, you haven't found your soulmate, you'll both be reborn until you do find each other. After that, it's the Havens for you both.

the Havens: Now you've found your soulmate, you've climbed Mt. Everest, you've dated a supermodel, started your own business, made babies with your soulmate, whatever it is you've ever wanted to do with your life. You've just died, and you have no regrets, no unfullfilled wishes. There's that bright light at the ned of a long tunnel, and it's the light of the Havens. It's time you left this world behind; there's a better place, a paradise unlike anything you could find on Earth.

Hell: Getting into Hell is hard. Very hard. We're talking V.I.P.-movie-star-private-party hard to get into. You gotta do something really bad to get sent here. I think Hitler might be in Hell, and possibly Manson. It's not very crowded, I bet.

Okay, so I most likely have this wrong somewhere, but I'm seeing no mention of a higher power, so where are we from, was Christ just a prophet or the actual son of GOD, and If the first assumption is correct, What decides where we go? Our actions on earth?
PostPosted: Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:32 pm

The only 'higher power' I believe in is the universe itself. If anything created us, it was the vast home of Mother Earth that sustains, nurtures, and challenges us at every turn. The universe gives us life, and we give it purpose. And how else would one describe the relationship between a mother and her children?

Evolution seems simple, but it's really not! well not to me atleast. If we came from mokeys, then why are there still monkeys today? that part confuses me. The Big bang theory seems easier then evolution. Well it is suppose to explain how the universe was created, but it doesn't explain how the other matter was created. So that's what I think about them. Oi, my head hurts gonk Well I like the book of genius definion but it requires more faith they the big bang thory/eveloution does.
