Background: Antonia Dimitris lived in a time of simple pleasures. There was no leader. No King, Queen. None of that. The people ruled everything. The farmer's grew their crops and sold them at shops they maintained in the marketplace. There was no form of government at all.
She was the daughter of a farmer. Not the daughter of a Lord or King. Not even someone well known. Just your common farmer's child. She tended to the animals. Helped with the crops. Sewed. She was a sweet girl. Her parents were proud of her. She had many friends in the nearest village and even a local boy had asked for her hand in marriage.
But all would not end happily ever after. One night, a terrible snow storm suddenly appeared in the sky. The wind was strong enough to cut through your skin. Her silblings were busy running around the house, boarding up the doors and windows. Her mother was pacing the floor. Her father, however, was worried about the animals. He wanted to go check on them. Antonia, being an animal lover herself, volunteered to go with him, but was refused the first time. "We don't want you freezing to death in this cold," her father had said. "Not when you have so much going for you." So she stayed put.
The hours passed and her father never returned. Everyone in the house became worried. Antonia, despite the begging of her mother, stole out into the night to find her father. The storm was raging at full force. She could hardly see. With the barn in sight, the cold finally took over her and she fell to the ground, unconcious. She was found dead the next morning, with strange puncture wounds on her neck. A vampire's bite.
Scared, her parents hid the body in the shed. A vampire's victim must be burned to ashes to insure the victim didn't return as an undead, too. It was law. But they didn't want to burn their daughter. Their beautiful daughter with everything going for her. They hid the marks on her neck and took the body to the nearest church for a buriel service.
The service went well. People close to Antonia said their piece on her and then her body was lowered into a grave in the church's cemetary. Afterwards, live went back to normal, for there was still much work to do. Mourning or not, there were still animals to tend and crops to harvest. If not, they'd surely die, as well.
It was a month later when strange things began happening to the town. Bodies were turning up with weird puncture wounds in their necks. The village had never had this problem before. Not with a vampire. They all lived far away. They couldn't for the life of them figure out what was going on. The Dimitris family, however, soon realized what they'd done. It was known that a vampire's victim, if buried the way it was found, will arise as another walking undead to feast upon the living. Oh, sure. They denied it the first few times. But as the pattern continued, they couldn't any longer. They confessed to the church of their sinful deeds.
A vampire search was concluded for many years. But the vampire of everyone's beloved Antonia could not be found. The dug up coffin was empty. Apparently, she wasn't returning there. But where was she going?
Eventually, the killings ceased and the village slowly began to forget about their 'nightmare.' Many more years passed. Hundreds, even. Slowly, the village grew to become a town. Store's replaced the market. And the Dimitris family continued to live on their little farm. The story of Antonia had now become a well-known story and legend of the region. No one remembered how it started. That is....until.....
A stranger appeared in town. A beautiful, young woman with raven black hair and piercing green eyes. She walked around the town all day, asking people questions or just talking. Eventually, people began to enjoy her company.
Again, the years passed. The townsfolk noticed there was something weird about this woman. She never seemed to age. Nor did her skin darken in the sun. Most curious was how she looked so young and innocent, yet had a 'mature woman' aura about her. They never questioned it too much. Maybe it was just where she came from.
More years passed and the woman continued to lack wrinkles and grey hair. She still looked exactly the same. Something was not right. Now the townsfolk began to question. Not to her directly. But amonst themselves.
After a few more years of this, one brave man approached her with the question. By now, the townsfolk were beginning to wonder if she was human at all. Or perhaps a 'demon' sent by the God's to punish them of whatever sins they've committed throughout the years. So the man approached her with the question: Why don't you age?
The woman laughed softly. "I do not age, my dear man. Because I am not like you. I don't breath. My heart does not beat. There is no blood within these viens. I do not age because I'm not mortal. I'm one of the undead, come back to the town of her birth as a human and what I now am. A vampire." The last sentence was whispered close to his face. At the last word, the man's face went completely white. He staggered back away from her. "And I've come to reclaim this town," the vampire continued. "It's about time you people had a Ruler."
The townspeople dared not argue with her. She could walk amongst the sunlight. She must be a truely powerful vampire, to do that. Though, in fact. That part of vampire folklore was actually false. Vampires are only seen walking at night, because it's easier to hide from their victims. While everyone's asleep. Her pale skin was merely due to the lack of blood flowing in her shriveled viens.
Under her ruthless guidance, a small castle was built for her on the outskirts of the town. A number of humans went to work under her service, but she didn't want humans. Any victims of vampires found, were ordered to be delievered to her. There, inside the protective walls of her castle, the bodies were left in locked rooms, as they slowly surcomb to the fate of a vampire. Her vampire Court was becoming a reality.
The poor townspeople grew more afraid for their lives with every passing month. As the new vampires preyed on them and the neighboring village. One man in particuliar drew the woman's eye. He was very handsome. Perfect for someone high in society like herself, but not quite as equal. She wanted him. Not as a woman wants a man. Oh, no. The Vampire Queen wanted him to serve as her understudy for the throne. She wished to travel about a bit more. And needed someone to watch her kingdom for her.
She stalked him late one night. This wasn't uncommon. Most of her vampire Court were all created by her own fangs. She stalked him until he fell asleep one night, than quietly stole him away from his bed and back to her castle, where she bit him in the neck and drank all his delicious male blood. No cry was uttered from his lips.
A special room had been made earlier the day. A room fit for Royality. His body was laid to rest for the month's gestation period and the door locked, so that no one may enter.
After the month's time, the Vampire Queen entered the room personally, wanting her new King to first lay his new eyes upon her. He did. But it wasn't the reaction she was expecting.
The man recoiled at the sight of her, not yet realizing what had been done to him. The vampire had come for him! "Get away!" he screamed.
"I mean you no harm," was her calm, maybe even caring, response. She reached out a hand to him, but he merely backed up into the wall further.
"What have you done with me?"
"I brought you do my castle. To serve as my King. You are one of us."
The last sentence sent the man into a frenzy. He lunged at her, but being the much older vampire she was, she dodged his mad attack and left him to his misery.
Years past. The young vampire continued to resent what had been done to him. Much like the Queen had her first years as something she was told to fear and loathe. Slowly, with every passing 100 year mark, her memories of being a human faded.
Than, one day, the man approached her. "I know who you are. I've heard the stories from my father about something that had happened a thousand years ago to a farmer and his family. I thought they were false....old tale's used to frighten children. But it wasn't. You are Antonia."
Something about that encounter changed him. He no longer loathed what he was, or what she was. He merely accepted. Over time, he even began to love it. Again, much like her. She wasn't Antonia anymore. She was Willow De Court.

Willow's rule lasted for five thousand more years. By then, human society had changed dramatically. The town was now a city. People weren't as cowardly as they were before. Leaders were springing up everywhere. Willow's rein was coming to an end.
Thoughts of rebellion were spoken in private amongst the mortals. They were tired of being ruled by the Damned and wanted their freedom. They wanted a real King and Queen. So plans were made. People were trained in secret on the arts of Vampire Slaying. A battle was forthcoming.
Willow and her King, Damian, were totally unaware of this occurance. Having been in power for so long, they figured they had the humans wrapped around their little fingers. That was until the first blow was struck. One of their vampire Court was found in her bed with her head cut off, the widely known way of killing a vampire.
The alert was sounded. It only took that one blow to put the Vampire Queen into action. A cival war broke out between the living and the dead for many a year. Blood was spilled on many a side, but perhaps not as much as on the vampire's. A number of their kind had been killed, already. Willow was beginning to see defeat in her future. Afraid of losing her life, she fled with what remaining vampires she had, including Damian. She fled far away. So a forest unknown by many people. There, she ordered her remaining vampires to build her a new castle and town. Which she named The Dying Rose Court.
