why the hell was he fired??
It was a storyline. First he tried to put Shane Hagadorn as referee in the Homicide/Corino match, then he tried to say that Homicide could only win the match by pinning Corino for a ten count. Then he tried to say that the match was cancelled. Throughout the show, the commentators were talking about how Konnan was meeting with ROH officials (he was at the show), and after Cornette tried to cancel the match, Konnan announced the Cornette had been removed as comissioner. He wasn't fired, per se, he just isn't the on-camera authority figure anymore.
It's more or less ROH making a parody of the "evil authority figure" storyline the WWE always does- showing how dumb it is, and how easy it is to solve.
Is Konnan a power figure?
I'm not sure how they're going to use him in the future. Konnan did say something about how Ricky Reyes isn't getting any matches, which set up Reyes vs. Hagadorn, and Reyes won (I personally think they should bring back the Havana Pitbulls, but that's another issue)....
I can see ROH using Konnan a bit more since Homicide is champion now. They might do a Cornette/Konnan feud, something along those lines. Jim Cornette, a few years back, managed the Briscoes, and then that stopped. Then he came back as the commissioner in time for the ROH vs. CZW feud. So maybe they'll let him manage the Briscoes again.
It's gonna be interesting to see how they play this one out.
