Today was probably one of the hottest days Ekene had ever known. His mouth was try and he found everything getting blurry. He needed to find water but whenever he thought he saw some, it turned out to be dry, warm earth. Soon he passed out under a big dead tree. It only helped a little bit for shade.

Boma'burudi was the goddess of the Earth's womb, or more well known as the goddess of the underworld. Her head was filled with ideas of this earth and as she wandered through a very dry and harsh patch of the world she was not so sure she had made the right idea surfacing from the cool damp world below.
Her eyes unfocused as she looked off into the distance, a male coming into her view. A mortal wandering, Maybe? She changed her course slightly and quickened her pace to see who this new creature was, and if she could in someway help him.

Ekene had wonderful dreams of pools of water and waterfalls. It just made him more thirsty and sick when he awoke. He saw another lion running toward him but he found that he could not move his feet. He closed his eyes and suggested to himself that this was just a dream.

"Sir, sir, are you okay?" She spoke in her gravelly rock like voice and peered at him through multicolored eyes. She was larger than most lions, and her two toned wings and large antlers could be mistaken for practically anything, so in essence she was a dream.
"Can I help you?" she stepped forward wearily looking him over, he looked as if he was very ill and she was unsure how to proceed," what is wrong?"

Ekene groaned. "Water." he said in a cracked voice. It seemed he could say nothing else. At first he thought he would be fine without it but now it was all he wanted besides food. He hated himself for being so unable to catch his own food and his stomach burned with starvation.

Boma'burudi nodded at his groan for water and laid her head to the earth pressing her antlers in long horizontal lines, rutting through the dry dusty earth. She knew that the deeper you get into the earth the cooler and of course sometimes a water table would exist their. She doubted it very much but assumed since there was some shrubbery and foilage.
She kept her thoughts on the earth and her eyes on the gasping lion, her heart swelled with pride as she heard the all to familiar groan in the earth that meant water was below. She did not need to dig far just focus enough of her will into the earth to bring the water to her, soon a sloppy muddled pool of water started to seep into the short horizontal lines.
"it is not much, and tastes of the earth...but it is what I can do...the earth is my power, not the water," she smirked looking worriedly at him.

Ekene crawled to the water and drank..and drank...and drank some more for a very long time until he was finally better. His stomach still hurt but he sat up. He stared at her thankfully. He didn't know if this was a dream but he hoped it wasn't and it seemed a bit too real. "Th--thanks....very much. You saved my life...if there's anything I can do for you, i'll try." he said, still staring at her. He was still a bit thirsty but he resisted.

The young goddesses waited as he drank for the muddied pool of water and thought of what it would be like without her antlers.
"There is no need to thank me, a harsh day is a harsh day," she was thinking lowly of this mortal, what type of creature wanders away without thinking of water or something to drink? Mortals are digusting creatures was her only conclusion, she would push this from her mind the moment she left his company.
"I am Boma'burudi Goddess of the Earth's Womb, you may call me Boma if you wish, and your name?"

Ekene felt a bit uncomfortable after hearing she was a goddess. "I'm Ekene ma'am." he said trying to be more polite than usual. "Nice to meet you." he added quickly. He wondered what she was doing out here on such a hot day. He felt like a complete idiot around her.

"Ekene is a noble name," she added awkwardly not wanting to seem so cold and distant. It was not everyday a mortal offered her something and she should have asked a favor of him...of course looking at things in retrospect was not in her nature and she brushed past it quickly.
"The warmth of the day is unusual...maybe there is a heatwave?" she nodded eager to sound like she was suprised and his absent mind was an accident.

He looked at her. "It's actually like this a lot...it just seemed worse to me than usual because...well, you know. I should've thought about getting water but..." he dropped the subject and tried to think of something else to talk about. "I wonder when it'll rain again.." he said looking at the sky. He loved the rain.

"What lands are these?" She inquired thinking that it should rain where she was..unless she had wandered into foreign territory, then of course anything was possible. She sat down awkwardly her large wings clanging together to produce an eerie clashing swords sound, it sounded quite a bit like malicious laughter.

Ekene looked around. He had to admit to himself that he didn't really know where here was. "Well...it's deffinatly not the Pridelands...and it's not where you're used to living..." he said feeling even more like an idiot.

"There's nothing wrong, being lost is just another adventure!" she joked mildly thinking that this visit with the quiet male was probably going to come to an end, what more was there to say?
"DO you need me to escort you to a watering hole?" She said quietly her twotoned eyes watching him intently.

"No thanks. Are you going anywhere special?" he asked, also knowing that this meeting would soon come to an end. She didn't seem to be interested in talking to him much longer and he knew he could not keep thinking of new topics to talk about.
