So, I've never really posted a poem on Gaia before. I'm not to sure how tough all you critics out there are. But be as harsh and constructive as suits your fancy. The poem is kind of short, I know. I didn't want to drag it out. My favorite poems are short ones. I tried to avoid cliche's as much as I could, so point out any no-no's you see. Thanks.
Welcome to Adulthood
Seas of faith ebb away,
dying shores mourn their harsh decay.
Naive steps, gone, quick and free scuffle,
cautious tender cynical replacements muffle.
Lachrymose, the truth grins wide,
the Cheshire Cat, her comments snide.
Spring to summer, roses wilt.
Children to soldiers, tears are spilt.
A cemetery where your play ground stood.
