I just heard this from a friend, and i'm not completely sure that it's true but it souns logical....
So the Senate right now is democratic, 51 to 49. Well, the guy who makes it 51 to 49 is getting brain surgery, and he might die or vecome brain dead. If he does, guess who gets to pick the next senator? The states republican governer! ANd you can bet that he'll pick a republican. So, the senate would then be 50 to 50. When that happens, guess who gets to pick who gets control. d**k Cheney. So you ask our republican vice president to decide who gets control. And does anyone honestly think that he would choose democrats? We're going down, my democratic friends. If anyone has anything to say on this matter, or (hopefully, please please!) knows that this isn't true, feel free to post!

well, I've heard nothing about this, but I guess that could be because I'm not too close to the senate.
I guess I'm a democrat, which is my way of saying "if it ain't Bush, don't fix it"

If bush or anybody wanted to do a coup, this would be the time. They could have a schandel. d**k channey might pick a rebulican, and the president might fire him any then there could be a huge conflict.
Sorry, I like to think outside the boxs, and predict alternate effects, pending on what I curently know.
You would think it is supicious that he "accidently shot his lawyer".

Blegh we have a divided house now i think it sucks, judging by pelosi i dont think the two parties will really work together after all the s**t theyve been harboring towards each other.

I still don't kow what that really means, I have trouble with American politics. I think staging a coup would be a bad idea though.

dramallama ugh the dreaded coup word i think it would be bad as well, at least we have a system where a president can only be in power for 4 years a maximum of two times so theres a chance for a change should things not be meeting the peoples expectations, in mexico i believe a president can only be in office once but for 6 years, so theres all types of ways to prevent a coup just from the electoral process, but the U.S. govt. is based on Locke and if the needs of the people arent being met then a coup is a legal responsibilities for those who have the power to act, there itself lies a problem though because most people with the power to do something dont always represent the needs for the people, this can be seen with Idi Amin, Hitler, Oliver Cromwell and to some extent the French Revolution, a coup often leads to even more ruin to the populus and personally im opossed to the use of such violence in our system but should something invredibley vile like genocide should happen i think a coup is an obligation to people simpley as human beings but sadly the world does not often think in such broad terms.

I don't know if any of you watch the senate when it is on tv, but if you've been watching it recenly even though the democrates are in control the the republicans still have infulence. I say that because the democrates are against the wart in Iraq and such, well I saw recently that the bill got aproved to send in the 20,000+ troops. Hopefully the democrates will push and...well...do something!!!!

Yea the democrats have the majority but its not by much, its definitley a divided house, id like to think itd be about synergey but its tough because the democrats definitley want to stick it too the republicans but i hope either pary doesnt do that at the sack of american lives being lost.
