Puberty is a stage in your life which prepares your body for reproduction. When you begin puberty you are changing from a child into a young adult and reaching the point where you can physically have children. It usually happens in girls earlier than in boys.
Changes that occur during puberty:
Girls
*Oestrogen is released into the body
* Breasts develop
*Hips broaden
*Eggs are released
*Periods begin
*Pubic hair grows between the legs and under your arms
*Nipples darken
Boys
*Testosterone is released into the body
*p***s becomes larger
*Testicles lower
*Sperm is produced
*Voice deepens
*Pubic hair grows between the legs, under the arms and on the face
With both genders more oil is produced causing achne and greasy hair when not washed regularly, and moods and feelings become stronger and sometimes spiral out of control.
You will become tired more than before due to the extra growing the body is doing, and you may find you are sleeping longer than you used to.
You may also find you start eating more, your body will need more energy to grow sufficiently.
Girls tend to finish puberty and become fully developed around the age of 18; boys last a little longer as they started later than the girls did, and may not be fully developed until around the age of 21. However, emotional development of both genders lasts into the early 20's.
