Did you find New Moon satisfying? I personally, did not like it up until Volterra. Stephanie Meyer seemed to have done little in description means through out the book, up until they were in Italy, and even then, she spoke as if readers should be able to visually see the city above ground as if they'd already been there.

I, however, were actually there during Saint Marcus day, and found the descriptions of the city extreamely lacking in its grandeure, especially since it really is a beautiful city.

Also, the 40 % of the book that contained a depressed, and suicidal in some views, Bella disturbed me. I did not buy a copy of this novel, just to see how far Bella'd go just to hear a voice in her head. I bought it in order to see if Bella was going to be changed. However, I was quite pleased when Edward finally said he'd changed her

i have to admit when there was some gross parts involving blood like when she was talking to Carisle(sp?) i got sick and i couldn't keep reading until the next day. It was very exciting and I couldn't believe someone could become that numb to everything.

I was there for the festival, and it didnt seem that Meyer gave it enough grandeur that it actually has. How it seemed to me, she was describing a walled town that was 1) huge and 2) falling a part, in which, it is neither

Its actually very small, Stephanie Meyers made it seem like the city was the size of LA, which its not.

Also the pic looks very much like Volterra, but I'm not sure if that exact picture is from Volterra, since I remember the b ricks on the buildings being deep enough to crawl up the buildings walls. But we didn't go into alleyways or that, so it might be smaller breicked on the alleyways

No, they never really identified what all the Volturi's powers were, but the did insinuate what some of their powers were when the Edward stated that you don't irritate the Volturi unless you want to die. It also insinuated Heidi's power in the group and her and Jane's relations to the other Volturi.

Something has arroused, however, from the Volturi. Recall when Edward stated that there were 2 mates of the Volturi trio. It also stated that Marcus's mate died in his martyr. This arouses the question if there are 2 Volturi sisters remaining to the 3 Volturi brothers, or if there were 2 and then Marcus's died.

If that is the case, perhaps Aro was looking at Bella as more than just another vampire when she is turned, but as his mate as well.

Note: I picked out the fact that Aro was flirting with almost everyone throughout the time he was present. I'm sorry to say this, but alot of the Italian men I encountered in Volterra were alot like this.

Also, I figured that if Aro actually had a mate, he wouldn't have been flirting with Jane and Bella and (in some eyes) Alice, unless he were trying to flatter them.

I felt that the writing was ok, but I think that pretty much until Edward and Alice met up again that the novel didn't really have much of a point.
