Harvest Moon Wii
takes place on an island that's home to a goddess and a great tree. One day, the tree suddenly goes dry and the goddess disappears. The Koropokuru, a group of helper creatures that should be familiar to anyone who's played Harvest Moon, call upon the player to farm the land, build relationships with other characters and, eventually, revive the tree and bring back the goddess.

You'll be using the Wiimote like a hoe.

August 9, 2006 - Given the series' ties with the Nintendo brand, few were surprised when Natsume announced Harvest Moon Wii back at E3. While we didn't get any details then, the latest issue of Famitsu has the first word on how you'll be using the Wiimote to raise animals and grow crops.

The control scheme shouldn't come as much of a surprise for those who've played Harvest Moon. You perform all your farming chores with direct controller motions. To till your garden's soil, for instance, you swing the controller like a hoe. To water your planets, you tilt the controller downwards as you would a bucket. The controller is expected to be used similarly when fishing and taking care of animals.

You do make use of a few face buttons as well. Left and right on the d-pad are used for cycling between tools. You push down on the d-pad to disable all tools. The A button is used to perform an action of some form; we presume this is a general button for speaking with people or entering buildings.

Famitsu also has a few story details. Harvest Moon Wii takes place on an island that's home to a goddess and a great tree. One day, the tree suddenly goes dry and the goddess disappears. The Koropokuru, a group of helper creatures that should be familiar to anyone who's played Harvest Moon, call upon the player to farm the land, build relationships with other characters and, eventually, revive the tree and bring back the goddess.

Harvest Moon Wii is currently without a final release date

I liked this game series for the most part, so very repetitive yet somehow it wasn't tedious, I wish I would receive more rewards for my home and such. I liked being a farmer and yes, why can't I just marry everyone in town every single person. *dies*

I never liked the Harvest Moon games for the PS, GB, or GC. There was just too much to do, so many dates to remember, things to ship.

I liked the more laid-back N64 version. Never got tired of it and the characters were a lot more fun. And you could kill off Ellie's grandma. >.>'

The bachelors and bachelorettes also could get married and have kids. I remember how I use to look forward to it--to see what animal outfit the kids would wear. I remember one of them was in a Pikachu suit. x3

Then there were those Photos. I loved trying to get those and the recipes. :3
