The House-
The tree house Jack lives in is pretty spacious. It has two floors, one of which Jack didn’t use for much more than storage before he received Nora. The first floor contains a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, an office, and the bedroom. The second floor should really be called an attic, although Jack prefers to refer to it as a storage room. Jack is currently considering cleaning it out and making it a game room, although he has yet to decide on this and it is therefore still quite messy.
The kitchen is cozy and separated from the living room by a counter with some cupboards above the first half of it. There are stools positioned on the living room side of the counter. Inside the actual kitchen are a refrigerator/freezer, an oven, a microwave, and a stove, along with some more counters and cupboards. There is also a wireless phone mounted on the wall next to the oven.
The living room is a mostly open area with a wide, comfortable, black, leather couch in the middle. Directly in front of said couch is a table that’s just about level with the seat of the couch and positioned on top of a large rug. Off to one side on this table is a laptop computer. On the other end of the same table is a decorative fake plant that belongs in the middle of the table on top of the small pile of reference books, but is constantly getting moved out of the way so Jack can see the TV. Said TV is on one side of a large shelf along with several video game systems, a large variety of video games (most of which are not used because Jack has developed several favorite games), a DVD/VHS combination player, and some speakers. On the other side of said shelf, is not the wall, but more shelving. On this shelving there are many well read and re-read books, most of them fantasy, along with a few textbooks for Jack’s online college course. The rest of this room is open space, except for the various tropical plants located mostly in the corners and next to doors and windows, and a few floor lamps located next to the couch and shelf.
The bathroom, office, and the bedroom are located down a short hallway that branches out of the living room. The office contains a desk and a computer chair, along with another bookshelf that holds a few more textbooks, various trinkets his parents have given him from vacations they went on in the past, and some smaller fake plants. The desk, which sits next to a large window, has a desk-lamp, an inbox, an outbox, a desktop computer complete with printer and internet connection, and a phone. The inbox is usually full of various assignments for the online college course, and the outbox is comparatively empty, usually with some scraps of paper from the occasional notebook Jack puts there when he has written an essay or some such thing on paper instead of typing it. There is also a trashcan and a comfortable armchair located in opposite corners of the room.
The bedroom is a basic bedroom. It has a bed next to one wall, with a nightstand holding an alarm clock and a table lamp conveniently located next to it. There is a dresser next to another wall, along with a small closet. Clothes litter the floor; particularly next to the usually empty clothes bin and near the floor lamp next to the door. You would expect Jack to be able to put the clothes
inside the clothes bin, but so far the best he has been able to do is throw a few sweatshirts onto it so that they lay half in-half out of it. The room also has a couple windows and yet more tropical plants.
Moving on to the bathroom, and the storage room, let’s just say the bathroom has no windows, a mirror, a toilet, a sink on a counter, some toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a comb on the counter, a towel rack with a couple towels, and a shower/bath combination. The storage room, however, contains many interesting things. Accessed by a staircase that lies behind a door in the living room, the storage room contains a washer, a dryer, a sink, several pieces of unused and dusty furniture, including a pool table with the pool sticks on top of it and a bean bag chair*, and various holiday-related decorations in boxes.
That’s about it for the house.
