Why Sasuke x Hinata?
Many fans chose to disregard this pairing, because it counters two very popular pairings, and just, well, doesn't seem to make much sense. It gets in the way of two of both NaruHina and SasuSaku, and of course, it's greatly disliked by many fans of those couples.
Yet, it makes a lot more sense (at least, to me) than NaruHina and SasuSaku. Sure, they've had absolutely no interraction, but if they had, this pairing would probably be amazingly popular. Why? Because their personalities fit.
You counter me with - "Sasuke is a cold-hearted b*****d and Hinata is gentle and kind!"
It's not so much those differences. But the similarities, in their lives, in everything. Both of them strived hard to prove themselves - and for their fathers, nonetheless! Both of them are from a noble clan, quiet and truthfully, insecure about their feelings and trust. They each have a goal to fufill - and they are both very sensitive characters.
Would Hinata not complete Sasuke? In his darkness, would she not be the light, that smile gracing him and bringing him hope? It could be something amazing, beautiful if you will. And Sasuke, would be not be the perfect person to protect her? His strength would make up for her nervousness, and he would be able to take care of her.
That's how I chose to see it. And to me, it just makes sense.

So, How Exactly are These Two Characters Compatible?
How aren't they? The amazing similarities between these two unlikely characters shows that they really would complete each other. Hinata would be the light in his dark, and Sasuke would be the shadow to protect her.
And plus, they just look sooo good together. It probably turns into one of the most angsty crack pairings ever - which is one of the other reasons I love it. (Yes, I love it for reasons besides the fact that they make sense. xP Lol)
And think about it. Hinata is the only girl who doesn't have a crush on him that is a genin during the series. (Let's just say the main kunoichi, such as Sakura, Ino, Temari, Tenten) I believe that that makes them even more likely to happen - and plus, Kishimoto can't neglect Hinata any longer. He really has barely given her any attention from characters - next time Sasuke comes around, they need to meet.
But I'm getting off subject. Unfortunatly, that's all there really is to say about this pairing in compatibility matters. (I already said everything in the other post. xD)

Open, right~? *snags first post*
SasuHina is a pairing that has it's up and downs with me, and I'll explain them riiight now.
Likes: Simply put, they look nice together. Their personalities would also work together. Sasuke and Hinata are both very dark people (not as in evil, or as in emo...just, dark), and I think that it makes this pairing overall a dark, serene kind of image.
Dislikes: I just *can't* see it happening with what's been shown so far in the series. Despite how good they look, and how they make sense, the pairing itself doesn't. I just can't see how Hinata, who is infatuated with Naruto, has had many "moments" with Naruto, and whom hasn't really even interacted with Sasuke at all could suddenly get with Sasuke. And what about Hiashi? I'm sure he's NOT about to allow Hinata to get with a man who betrayed the village.
Now, onto Sasuke. Sasuke hasn't shown interest in any girl. Why would he choose Hinata? Because she isn't obsessed with him?
Well, Tenten isn't. Neither is Temari. Both have comments on Sasuke's good looks, but neither have shown any *real* interest in Sasuke.
And honestly, I think that Sakura has grown out of her fangirlish obsession, and has shown in from the Chuunin Exams on that she really puts him before herself. I wouldn't call that obsession. I'd call that caring.
So who's left? Ino. Well, I'm sure that Ino poses no threat to SasuHina.
Next, would Sasuke REALLY enjoy being around a girl who's as shy as Hinata? I love Hinata to death, but I think that her shyness would irritate Sasuke just as much as Sakura's fangirling in the beginning.
The way I view this pairing is that some NaruSaku fan (I'm saying saying you, nor any other specific person) decided that since Hinata and Sasuke were such a THREAT (and they are) to their OTP, they decided to throw them together and call it logic. I'm thankful that I HAVE seen SasuHina fans out there who have really taken this trash (because that's what it was: Sasuke and Hinata being chucked out of the way) and turned it into a crack pairing that could happen given the circumstances. That makes me happy. But I still know that some people are USING SasuHina as an easy way to give their OTP more glory. I think SasuHina is used in that way because those certain people are SCARED. Scared of Naruto finally realizing Hinata's feelings and returning them (which is HIGHLY, HIGHLY possible), and scared of Sakura finally melting the ice-cube that is Sasuke (which is also, VERY HIGHLY possible).
So here's my sum-it-up:
As a crack pairing, I find SasuHina cute and likeable. I like it a lot.
As a non-crack pairing (because people do use it that way), I *hate* it and I think that it's ridiculous at how desperate some people are.
And again, I'm not bashing anything or anyone. I have nothing against sane and logical NaruSaku-ers, SasuHina-ers, Sasuke, Hinata, or anyone/anything else. I'm just saying what I think of it. *shrugs* Take it like you want to.

And yes, Tenten and Temari aren't obsessed with him, but they still do crush on him, and they are exactly the same.
Hinata is the only female character who is truthfully different. It's her personality that makes me really adore SaiHina, SasuHina, and NejiHina so much
And it's one of the reasons I don't support SaiSaku/SaiIno, SasuSaku/SasuIno, and NejiTen.
She doesn't have a crush on any of them. She's not a freaking fangirl.
Tenten, obviously, has a crush on Neji. He, obviously, is oblivious, or just doesn't care.
Sakura and Ino obviously see Sai as a Sasuke back-up. Ino has a crush on Sai, and that's exactly what makes me dislike that pairing - it's like a more funky version of SasuIno. As is SaiSaku, except I think that could probably work out a bit better if Sai became a bit more emotional.
And Sasuke - they have always noticed him. Hinata never noticed him. She was always so focused on Naruto - but simply, if Kishimoto did probably one of the most stupid things ever and got his house burned down, and sent them together on a mission if/when Sasuke comes back, they would seriously be able to understand each other.
Sasuke would realize that she was different. And Hinata would see that behind that smirking exterior, there could be something so much more.
And these moments you speak of? NaruHina moments?
Aren't they all basically one-sided besides the filler?
I can't see Naruto falling in love with Hinata, or vice versa.
Yes, Hinata truly admires Naruto, but does that mean she loves him? Perhaps - but perhaps not.
And I really do think, if given the chance, Sai, Sasuke, and/or Neji could fall in love with Hinata.
I don't think SasuHina is canon - or has much of a chance, unless Kishimoto goes insane. But I do think it makes sense. Because they are similar, and different. I just see it making more sense than SasuSaku or NaruHina, because they're not quite as different.
Opposites attract? Certainly, if you're talking physics. It doesn't always work that way when it comes to love. And manga.

I totally love SasuHina as a crack pairing for the reasons stated. Hinata and Sasuke are really alike. Both are quiet and introverted and both are dark. Hinata is the only girl that has never commented on Sasuke's looks and whatnot. Also, Hinata is very gentle and caring. She could make Sasuke warm-up to her a little bit. She isn't an annoying fangirl like Sakura, although her shyness might get on Sasuke's nerves. Then again, he could help her overcome her shyness and Hinata could help Sasuke overcome his cold side. So it might work as crack.
Still, as a non-crack is hard for me to picture it. Sasuke isn't for romance and clearly doesn't care about it. To him is something trivial and an obstacle. Besides, I see more between him and Sakura if any. Hinata is busy with Naruto. She might suceed in getting Naruto to see her differently but only if she confesses herself to him. Naruto is oblivious to this kinds of things and if Hinata told him, he would notice.
So really, as non-crack, SasuHina isn't very possible. I see more chances between SasuSaku and NaruHina.
So here's my two views. Crack: Love it! Non-crack: Not really...

Now would she REALLY say something like that if she though Sai was the Sasuke of Part 2?
And back to Hinata not crushing on Sasuke. Well, if she's crushing on Naruto, and NOT Sasuke, then WHY would she be interested in Sasuke at all? In Part 2, it seems that she was still VERY infatuated with Naruto, and in she had been liking him for YEARS (according to her in Part 1), then I can't see it suddenly changing durings a mission with Sasuke, or something of the sort. All of Hinata's character development in Part One would be all for nothing. NARUTO was her inspiration to get stronger. If Sasuke was nothing but the #1 Rookie in her eyes, and Naruto was full blown inspiration, then WHY would she go for Sasuke all of a sudden?HinaKitty_ And these moments you speak of? You made good points - and then you made opinions as well.
And, just to sum it all up...
I will never support NaruHina. No matter how many fans there are, no matter how 'compatible' they seem, so matter how much it's hinted. If it happens, I won't support it.
Because I just can't actually see it happening.
Oh, and I'll take a look through that essay.
But NaruHina just doesn't seem to make as much sense as NaruSaku - cliche or not. (every manga is cliche nowadays...Ranma 1/2, InuYasha, Maison Ikkoku, Fruits Basket, Fushigi Yugi, Rurouni Kenshin, etc.. *half of which are shonen manga, by the way...only two are shojo*) NaruSaku is well-developed and plus...
It's adorable.
I won't deny NaruHina is adorable...But in a different way.
I don't really feel like debating any more...My brain is a bit mush, so the last point I made kinda SUCKED.
