Judas: what can be said? He's just so young right now. He seems reserved now, less excitable than some children, more calm and relaxed and sometimes even frighteningly so - Verne almost wonders what he would be like angry. She finds him untrustworthy, one you'd tell your secrets but never know if they would be shared or guarded. Verne expects she will one day admire him for this. Judas lingers under window sills, getting his share of light but no more. He lets you touch him, but no more than once or twice. A challenge.

Verne's house wasn't quite that. She lived in the town, in a sometimes uncomfortably white apartment building. If one were to take the elevator to the seventh of eleven floors and make two sharp left turns with steps in between they would find her door, room number ninety-six. Each floor made a sort of U shape, fifteen rooms on each floor and the elevator on the bottom of the U. The halls were dimly lit in a drab way, making the entire atmosphere seem grey in hue. Displeasing. Verne's was a smallish apartment, two rooms and a bathroom; the bedroom and the family room were loosely connected, the double doors between them refusing to stay close and thus often kept open. Her kitchen and her living area were molded into one room, seamless. The kitchen has few things: a small refrigerator, a working stove, a microwave, many a cabinet. Placed outside a divider made of a counter was a small reddish-tiled table with two benches as the chairs. Where the tile of the kitchen ended was where the family room began. A white couch on tan carpet facing a small television surrounded by bookcases - nothing particularly fantastic. In her room was a full-sized bed with worn but warm maroon sheets and copper red quilt. Other various necessities were also included. All the walls were painted an almost orange sherbet off-white and decorated with aimlessly placed pieces of art resembling 1920's advertisements. There is also a small shrine to goats across from her bed.

This apartment building is facing the risk of being torn down for a park or something public and for use of wildlife and joy. Verne sighs every time this concept is mentioned and just hopes for the best.

Name: Verne Terres

Gender: mostusuallyFemale
.
Age: Nearing her late twenties.

Physical Description: Verne is on the shorter, stockier side, although she easily keeps her weight down [with the sorts of exercise she does] to around 140, keeping her at least on the slimmer side. She keeps her tummy tucked in to make a flat line, just as she was taught in her dance classes. Verne's not particularly astounding in any one place but does have an effort. That is, she's not topheavy or pleasingly skinny but makes the best of what she has with what she wears or decides to ******** it all. [But she does have a noticeable behind. :] or so they say.]

Verne has an entire side of a family that is Italian and it shows with her. Her hair is naturally dark, abundant, and bushy; she wears it up almost constantly to keep it from billowing out into unfortunate frizz. This shows as well in her eyebrows, which are thick and, to her, very irritating. Said brows are just over gray eyes, the type of gray where you can see through it and see that any shine is coming from the back of the eye where all the color comes from. She prides her eyes; grey eyes are said to be great shots. We seem to be working from the top of the face down so why don't we continue this way, eh? Her nose is bland and has two holes called nostrils. It's on the smaller side and straight. Underneath that is a small pair of lips that seem to lean to one side and are fit perfectly for wide grins.

Her most prominent feature is her legs, not because they are beautiful but because they are muscular. All the dancing work she's done has paid off; her calves are very defined and large, but entirely out of muscle. The same goes for her thighs. Otherwise she seems a normal girl for her height and build.

Personality Description: Verne is rather closed-minded. When she hooks onto a decision about something she thinks of no other way to go about the subject. She does this in an odd way, however: she finds a peculiar piece of the subject, branches out of it, and theorizes upon that. She'll weasel into any part of something that was underfed with attention. Another point about her: she will go out of her way to avoid what the norm. No, not like LOL TEH GAWTH or anything - she prefers it in smaller more significant ways [and besides, goth IS the norm]. If everyone chooses one color, she chooses another. Or she will go for whatever is getting the least attention, as she attributes personalities to things [ie, numbers, colors, words, et cetera]. Anyways.

Verne is known amongst those who recognize her for snark and dry humor. Sarcasm is second nature and she almost never leaves a pun alone, though then proceeds to make fun of herself for making such a pun. Her humor sometimes goes over very well, other times not at all - but it almost always is influenced by the ridiculousness or stupidity of others.

Verne does have a nice side, however, and will almost always try to think through and solve the problems of others. She acts her friends' therapist for half of the time she's with them.

Other fun stuff: lol i no tell u

Quote:
from bulb to lamp:
-make the journal, post the info and stuff you want about it [keep the whole first page as reservations just in case]
-post the 'acquiring' roleplay, ie, the one you posted in electroCUTE's main thread
-roleplay two or three times in your journal between yourself and your bulb, and if there are others in the household you may include them
-roleplay once or twice with another person, either in your/their journal [that is, within your/their house] or in the main forum for the forest, town, et cetera
-NEW: you must have your bulb for at least a week before being able to do the next step. I mean, where's the fun in just cruising through all of these and then being done, right?
-IMPORTANT! Roleplay your owner character finding their bulb SHATTERED in some way for the bulb-to-lamp transition. You MUST do this for the growth and you can ONLY do this if you have received your lamp stage. The bulbs grow some before the hatching date. If it is witnessed, the bulb will be seen glowing and then, essentially, 'explode.' Shards everywhere. Watch your feet. And then there it'll be! There will be a smaller-sized and quickly-growing version of their lamp standing there! Huzzah. I repeat: YOU MUST ROLEPLAY THEIR GROWTH IN SOME WAY - one journal post will do.
