Feel free to comment and/or critisize, but don't be too harsh, some of them were products of boredom. All the poetry I post here is by me, unless otherwise noted. DO NOT COPY MY POEMS OR YOU SHALL DIE! My pen name is W. Hroch.

Darkness
This darkness engulfs me, And I see no light, My soul is icy, And my hope has gone away, This war rages inside of me, Between dark and light, The light fails misrably, As the darkness does prevail, And I see no light in my future, I can not see my hand, When I hold it before my face, All I see is darkness, As I turn to face the day.

Forgotten
All who go are soon forgotten, But I remember them, The ones who left. I have found a knife, And the vessel, Which I shall slice. Down the road, Not across the street. This evil world, Makes me want to leave, To stop the pain, That makes me grieve. My tears fall down, To the ground, My hope leaves me, As fast as my blood, As my body dies, Setting my soul free. As the others before me, Had to die, It is time now for me too, To say good bye. Will you remember me?

Away
You'll move away, Just like all the rest, You'll stay for a while, A year, a month, and a day, The days will pass, And the months will fly by, And the year will be over so fast, And we'll have to say good bye. I don't want to be your friend, But I just can't help myself, We'll soon be as close, As a sailor and his boat, But then you'll leave me all alone, And never write or call on the phone, And you'll leave me to wonder forever, What could have been, But I will never know, Because you will be whisked away, To another town, And in my tears, I may nearly drown, But you will not know, Nor will you care, Because I will be here, And you will be there.

Puppy Dogs and Sunshine
All puppy dogs and sunshine, most of the time, Except when big sis is yelling, And little sis is crying, Me, I block them out, And sadness is one thing I doubt, I'm never bored, I just wish I had and apple core, To throw at little sis, "Shut up!" I'd say to the little miss, I have my books, So who needs looks? I'm not the prettiest girl in town, But at least my life isn't spiraling down. I'm happy just as I am, Oh look! In little sis's hair there is jam, That must be why big sis was so mad, You should have seen the fit she had. Like I said, most of the time, It's all puppy dogs and sunshine, But not always.

Broken
I've broken my promise, I'm sorry to say, It didn't even take me a day, But it's hard to talk to someone, When they won't talk to you, When I feel ignored, It's because I am, When I'm sad, It's because I've been hurt, All my promises, I usually keep, That's why I hope, You'll find it in your heart, To forgive me for this one, That I could not keep, This promise that I've broken.

Cold
As I breathe the frigid air, I know it has happened, The world has gone cold. The birds don't chirp, And the sun doesn't shine, The icy wind howls, As the dark sky cries, I sit and weep, Because the chill spreads, Through the land sea and air, People's souls have frozen, Their blood turned to ice, What ever happened, To this thing we call life?

Angst bleeds well in your words. I find writing helps to deal with the pain. Keep it up!! They're good. Some seem a bit choppy but well, so do most of mine.

The Other Side of the Cage
On my side, where I sit, I am safe from the evils of this world, But I am in a cage. I am not free, to do as I please, I am trapped inside this horid place, And I feel the eyes upon my face, The eyes of the people, The ones that are free, The people who stand, On the other side of the cage, They point and laugh, Because they are free, And I am not, I wish to be out there too, But there is no key for my lock, So I cannot leave this dark place, How I wish to be just out there, But the bars are too strong, To bend and break free, And no help will never come, To break the lock and set me free, I am trapped inside, And my heart, it cries, To stand outside, And look onto an empty cage, To leave this place, Where I am alone, With no real friends, And no real home, I just want to be set free.

This one doesn't have a title yet
You were our dear friend, Part of the family, But when Dad found you, You were cold and clamy.
You came to stay, While I went away. You had surgery, Just upon your knee, And I at camp, Deep in the trees.
On that fateful night, Two years ago, Your pills didn't work, So you took too many in a row.
I played games, While you were in pain. I hiked trails, And flew kites, While you were slowly, Drifting toward the light.
Little one awoke, and said something was wrong, The parents said it was okay and tucked her in tight, You were not found, Until later that night.
You left while we slept, And your memory, I have always kept. I didn't get to say good-bye, But I guess it's better that way, I hope you're happy in heaven, Because we miss you every day.
