Okay, this is sort of OT. I'm writing an article for the Gaia Gazette (a GCP) on the Gaian Grammar Guild. Basically what I want to know is how important do you think proper grammar is when writing? Either when posting on Gaia or when writing fanfic or what have you.

I believe grammar is very important, especially when typing. Online, you can't use conveince tools like expression, tone of voice, et cetera. You can only use words, and words alone cannot be understood without proper grammar.

I think it is very important especially when writing something. Of course hiccups are allowed but, to an extend.*

(only to an extent.)

I never really realized importantit was till you were a reader. When you write and don't read over it, the readers will catch your mistakes. So betas are always great to have. (I got to go reread some of my fanfic)

Grammar was never an issue to me, I could but just didn't until a particular incident (Can you guess what that is?) and after that I realized that people do care, since then it's begun to bug me to no end, but it's really just a matter of willingness for me; that and the self-appreciation, it’s similar to exercise, it gives you self-worth, you can do something properly and to an extent that the minimal time required to maintain it becomes MORE then worth it!

Grammar? Definately must be good, for proper understanding. Cane under stand you zhis? You get my point...

When reading fiction with pretty bad grammar, I try to bear it. I piece together what I can, and go from there. When the chapter's over, I will most definately "kindly yell" at a person for their bad grammar, and give tips, ask if they want more help, whatever.

In common conversation; online or in real life, I don't really care at all. It's their choice to speak like they want. Not mine.

I agree when your reading stories/fan fics you notice all the mistakes. It just talking like on aim or other things. I tend to not notice or if I do I don't bother to correct.

I'm a PostNazi for a reason, thank you. It's all I can do to not go through and correct everyone in this place.... ninja

Well in forums like this, there's no point in getting picky. It could be chalked up to just pressing the wrong key. In a fanfic however, you need more care so, they should be written and proofread a few times before posting anything.

Grammer helps a lot in stories. It usually makes a story a little better and more fun to read. Also hinata what is with you and cookies?

(Don't ask about her cookie obsession it's a LONG chocolate-chippy story! That and Cas keeps offering them, which I'm sure she loves.)
