"Whoo hoo! It's midnight!" Blaise said happily to the rather sleepy people who had managed to drag themselves to the small room the chest was held in. He waved about his arms madly for attention in vain; most of the students that had showed up were on the verge of passing out. He shook his head; this wasn't like how it was when he was in school.
"Well, anyway, we're going to be pulling Champions now!" the vampire stated, and kicked the chest open. "For our first drawing, we shall be calling for... Gryffindor!"

"The Gryffindor champion is... Gabriel Vienne!" Blaise said cheerily, crumpling up the piece of parchment and tossing it over his shoulder. "And if Vienne ends up unable to be in the Tourney, it'll be passed on to Jeremy Branch. Now, for.... Hufflepuff!"

"The Hufflepuff champion is... Tabitha Whind!" Blaise called, lighting the parchment on fire with his wand and letting it turn to ashes. "And if she can't be in the Tourney, it'll be Kadence Croft. Now, for... Ravenclaw!"

Blaise gave a slight smirk as he read the new name; wasn't that the girl he had met in the hallway? In any case... "The Ravenclaw champion is Chanese Farwa, and if she's blah blah blah, it'll be Lance Archer. In any case, since there's only one entry left, it's safe to say that the Slytherin champion is..." He seized the remaining entry, "Clarissa Autumn, who will have no runner-up, apparently. In any case, those are the champions; Gabriel Vienne, Tabitha Whind, Chanese Farwa and Clarissa Autumn. I'll expect all champions, and their runner-ups, to meet me tomorrow, eight o'clock, in the dungeons to discuss the Tourney, what will be expected of you and the like. Now leave me alone."
With that, the enigmatic vampire left the room, leaving the small crowd snoring over each other behind.
