I've wanted for a while to have a place to write down a lot of background things for my character. This is a great addition to the guild.

Name: Shonasha Shonojo

Race: Shieto/Elren

Cultural Background: Shonasha was raised under the goddess Flamoya who created and resides over a third of the population of the land of Lupnia(referred to as demons). This religion has it's own list of morals and codes. If these codes are broken then it is customary on the eve of the full moon, belived in demon culture to be Flamoya's open eye, to bare wounds to repent for these sins. Depending on where these rituals take place, this punishment can be anywhere from a small nick to the hand to twenty or more lashes.

Other beliefs of Flamoya's children is the belief that the possibilities of one's life are already set forth, in other words a sort of predestination, although all demon's are belived end up in the same place after death. Flamoya is called The Weaver as a person's fate is believed to be much like a dreamcatcher in that many of the paths overlap but ultimately lead to the same destination in the center. The most important part of this belief is that of a child's name. A new born child is believed to be born with loose strings. The name is for the purpose of tying these strings together and setting out the path for the child.

It is also a common belief that common demons cannot name their children themselves. Because they have no knowledge of what Flamoya requires of them, it would not be possible for them to assign the proper name. Thus the Illian. Illian serve as the voice of Flamoya and are able to grant names to children as well see into the future as they are capable of reading the paths that Flamoya weaves.

Shonasha, though born under and raised to follow this religion, does not. He follows the Lupnian(one of the other three races of the land) god. This puts him at odds with nearly all of his race.

Name Translated: Because of the importance of names, they are all given in the ancient language, which was once used throughout the three main races of the Lupnian land. His name translates to "gift from the god's" but because of a lack of specifics in the old language is sometimes translated as "A gift worthy of the god's"

Racial Background:Shieto-Shieto are one of several races of Flamoya's children. They are, however, respected little and are seen as savages in the eyes of most. This is because they eat mortal flesh of the opposite gender, even their husbands or wives. With the birth of a child, one of the parents will usually sacrfice themselves for the good of the child. Cases where this does not happen are uncommon.

Elren-Shonasha is also of the Elren race through his mother. Elren is the third race of the Lupnian land and thier name is translated to "Fair one" in the demon language. They are a peaceful race that is often seen as inferior to the other two main races. They, however, have amazing magical potential and are considered the most beautiful of all the races.

Mixbreeds- Intermarriage of seperate races is not as innocent as in our world. Breeding outside of ones race can have drastic effects outside those of pigment. Shonasha is a mix of Shieto and Elren, to highly different races. Elren also, because of it's high magical potential breeds offspring with hightened characteristics. For instance Shonasha has both a greater hunger for woman flesh as well as more favorable physical features then would be common. Because of these strange characteristics, half-breeds are usually not excepted in most place and are commonly killed at birth or abandoned at a young age.

Family Background: Shonasha's father(currently unnamed) was at one point considered highly in demon society. As a gift, soldiers coming back from a conquering war of Elren land brought back with them a prisoner Elren. His father immeadiately fell in love with the woman. He was at the time, however, already married to a woman. She was with child and when the child was born it was a daugther. Rather then die for his wife, he raised his daughter to eat regular food. His daughter survived and was named Sinume. His wife however, being used to eating flesh, perished. His father married the Elren woman.

When his village found out what he had done, he was removed from his position and was forced to live the life of a commoner and give tribute to the ruling family of the village. This tribute was the first child of their household, but because Sinume was not the daughter of both parents, she was saved from the fate. Shonasha was then born to the pair a few years later. At the age of thirteen he began to labor under Totsu Tsinigani son to the head of the Tsinigani household.

Personality: Shonasha has a mixed sort of personality. He was brought up in a common village that was very together. People prided themselves in helping their neighbors and living peaceful lives. Because of Shonasha's lineage however, he is usually rejected by the other children at a very young age. Children are perceptive, and they can understand differences between different people.

Because of this rejection Shonasha spent most of his younger life attached to his mother and the other members of his family. He never challenged the other children in games or the like so he leaves his family with a pessimistic nature. Whenever something bad happenes to him in the Tsinigani manor, he simply flees to some sort of comfort because he feels he can't do anything about it. In this case he goes to a young woman named Sharizai whom he becomes attached to, and later finds that he has fallen in love with.

Though he is timid, Shonasha is perceptive. He is a fast learner and because of that is a good problem solver. Through years of having to defend himself he develops past his timidness. Shonasha is also one minded. If there is something he is trying to do or means to cause then he will not give up until it is done or is made impossible.

Effects of people on Shonasha:Only a few because mentioning them all would give off come spoilers. But just so you all know almost everyone he meets influences him in some way.

Shonasha is mostly shaped by the people around him, as he was given little chance as a child to really go out and discover the world himself. His mother and sister form in him a sense of justice and a sense of what is right and wrong. He thus goes into the Tsinigani manor and knows that some of the things that this family does are wrong.

Totsu Tsinigani instills in Shonasha a fear of things he does not understand. Totsu is like no one he has met before. He is ambitious and frivilous about love or rather lust. He is most confused by Totsu's actions toward him. Totsu finds himself, because of Shonasha's Elren and Shieto blood, attracted to the youth. Totsu does not understand himself this attraction and because of that counters it with maliciousness. He also beliefs that he has more important things to focus his thoughts on. It may be because of this that Totsu includes Shonasha in some of his plans for his own advancement.

Murasaki influences Shonasha's understanding of love. He is the prince of the whole demon country. He has a desire to care for the country and to make it better and because of this must ignore feelings that he has for a commoner. He offers Shonasha understanding when the youth needs it the most, and shows him that not all those people who in power are ambitious.
