It's almost 6AM and I've barely slept at all. I got to level 56 on Word Bump before I remembered that I have AP Chem finals today. I was playing WB to take a break from the 100+ questions Physics review I was supposed to have turned in yesterday, but never bothered to start because I didn't think it was requireeedddddd.[/whining]

I'm almost done with the review, but this has me thinking about other things. Like: How I Will Not Get Accepted Into College, Life as a Hobo, and other Serious Things.

Share stories of interesting hobos in your town, make up a "Day in the Life of a WalMart Greeter" blurb, or give tips for surviving on catfood (either with or without multiple cats).

I'm feeling a bit awful, but I'd like to laugh while I'm crying, if that's all right with you.

I have no idea why I was accepted to the college I attend, but for some reason I, with my average self, managed to get in to a renowned school in the western states...

1) Dumpster Diving is a good thing. Gets you food and kinckknacks.
2)Prostitution is a bad thing. Gets you hooked on drugs and disease ridden, unless you find a good hustler but that is unlikely to happen.
3)Pets while fun to have are not good to keep when out on the streets. They become a hassle.
4)If possible, join a gang. They offer protection from the bad guys. Besides, you'll only be breaking a few laws.

Well, congrats Kagenoku. I hope you enjoy it there!

I once saw documentary about college kids who got all their meals by dumpster diving. It was crazy.

I was a hobo once. It was actually kind of fun. I always had food though, thats the glory of knowing people who are actually nice. It really isn't so bad, but I would not worry anyway.

I had a friend from highs cool that did finish school but ended living his life homeless in Portland Oregon for a year because he was so determined to do something with his artwork. He didn't know enough nice people though.
Well he still has a positive outlook with his artwork fancy that. He also wants to get Arnold Schwarzenegger to endorse his line of exercise equipment aptly named the Enhancer Series. *big muscley foreign accent* (The Enhancer is your answer!) Hehe, it’s just a joke really.

I fell into depression which lowered my immune system to countless viral and bacterial assaults and eventually left school in my 12th year unable to graduate due to absence which drove me crazy. To embarrassed to repeat I scooped up my GED and well it is super crappy hard to find work.

You really do need to be persistent looking for work regardless of your degree, but college degrees do help along the experience earned through obtaining them!

Am I happy, yep, satisfied nope.

It’s awkward to meet people from middle school who can't stop looking gob smacked when I tell them I didn't graduate. I was such a gun hoe school brat, helping everyone with their assignments.

It’s weird too when you're dating and you see an expression of disappointment when you mention you didn't graduate.

I don't know why anybody looks up to me but they do and it does make you proud.

I was shocked to find that many underclassmen from my school when I visited them on their graduation day told me they joined the school band due to listening to me play my trombone in jazz&pep band.

I wish I had kept playing. My lips are dead now it’s too bad.

Gladly most of the people I know from high school have taken on college and come out with what the needed not always what they were looking for, but tools enough to find work maybe even doing things they like. whee

Indeedy, I am. I think they stalked supermarket dumpsters for not-so-fresh veggies, bakeries for day-old stuff, and the like. But they also searched garbage bags in city streets for half-eaten fast food. They seemed happy, and pretty full, too. biggrin

I applied to only one school: the one my father's crazy about. Not getting in would be something of a relief, but I feel like I'm screwed either way.

I was kidding when I made this thread, but it is really interesting to hear about someone's real life experiences. I'm glad things worked out for you, Sepheril, and I'm really glad you're happy, Moleje. heart

I love Dumpster Diving. It is totally wicked. Besides all the Big Stores throw out way too much good s**t.

Here's a happy making thing: Your first kiss, that's usually a happy thing, even if in the end there's some sadness from the relationship.

I remember mine...someone here was kicking my head....

My first kiss was...awkward... whee I was 6 years old and the girl who lived next door to me decided to kiss me right on the lips one day. Honestly, I still don't understand what her motive was....all she said was "Boys kiss boys and girls kiss girls!" stare *shudder*
