At the moment we have the M16A2 as our standard issued rifle for our infantry. The M16 is inexpensive and reliable which makes it an ideal weapon not only for our ground forces but also to our guild. The M16 is a lightweight, air cooled, gas powered, magazine fed rifle that can be fired at either the shoulder position or from the hip. It is designed for both automatic and semiautomatic fire and is effective up to 500 meters. We currently have twenty M16's available for use by our infantry.

During Operation Hound Dog three grenade launcher attatchments for the M16A2 were obtained. It has a maximum effective range of 400 meters, low recoil, and pinpoint accuracy.

The newly obtained AK-47 is a gas powered rifle that is capable of shooting 600 rounds a minute. It was one of the first true assault rifles and remains the most widely used and known. The AK-47 has a intermediate-power cartridge that is effective to a range of 300 meters. We have four AK-47's in stock thanks to Operation Hound Dog.

Four AK-74's were obtained during Operation Hound Dog and have been added to our armory. The AK-74 is a more modern version of the AK-47. The AK-74 is capable of firing slightly faster than its predecessor and is also effective up to 500 meters. This weapon will be available to our troops immediately.

We were able to grab three M4 Commando's on Operation Requiem and they are now available for use. The M4 Commando is a gas powered, magazine fed rifle that has a attachable stock and is capable of selective firing.

Now on to the machine guns we have in stock. Our only current model of machine gun is the M-249 SAW. The M-249 is considered reliable when compared to its counterparts and is very effective. The M-249 is a .223 cal (5.56mm) gas operated light weight machine gun which feeds from a belt held in a 100 or 200 rounds box located on the underside of the gun. It is light enough to be carried and operated by one man, and can be fired from the hip in an assault, even when loaded with a 200-round ammunition box. The barrel change facility ensures that it can continue to fire for long periods. We only have one of these machine guns available, but it will double the effectiveness of any squad.

These shotguns were donated to our armory by Virkez and are a welcome sight. According to Virkez these shotguns boast a 7+5 shell capacity and their spray can be changed from 6 inches to 8 feet at 100 ft. These shotguns will be invaluable in the days to come.
