The breeze was silent but cool. It sent a few shivers down Melody's spine. Her blue eyes stared at the blood red sky. The sun was setting at it's usual slow pace, and the moon would soon swoop in with the night sky behind it. She wanted to change and feel the sweet crunch of the spine, but she was new to these woods. If she were to run in her true form, she had no idea who lived here, and what they would do if they saw a wolf-like creature running about the forest. Depsite her emotional protest, Melody knew all to well that tonight would have to be spent as a human.

A sigh escaped her thin lips as she shifted grip with her guitar. It had been almost eleven months since she had run away, and almost two years since her father had died. "I wonder how they are..." she mused as she thought of her Mother, William, and the rest. She then shook her thoughts away. "Hmph. Don't think about them anymore." She scolded herself as she hugged her legs against her chest. Her chin rested on her knees as she sighed once more.

The sky, a bit darker than it had been a few minutes ago, was still bleeding red. She looked at her surroundings once more, then foccussed her troubled eyes on the sky. Sleeping would keep away the urge to change. Melody comforted herself as she rested her head on her knees. She hung her guitar on a branch beside her head, and began to close her eyes. Nothing would happen while she slept. Nothing ever happens...She thought once more, before she closed her eyes and drifted into a silent slumber.

The sky was a dark blue colour streaked with crimson, the sun which was setting was barely visible through the many trees. Stars were scattered about the sky, they would soon become clearer as night drew in and took over. A girl followed many faint paths between rocks, trees and shubbery that clawed at her clothes, a cool breeze whisped her hair about her cheeks, she looked like a lost child in that immense forest, she wasn't a child, though to be honest she was lost.

She looked up at the now velvet black sky, the tears that were sitting in the corners of her eyes glistened in the moon light. She had been trekking through this forest for a long, long time, she wondered that prehaps she had been walking in circles for the past hour or so. Suddenly she dropped down to her knees, threw her head back and screamed out in rage, and if it wasn't for the sudden rustle in the trees above her she probably would have screamed all night.

Was something there above her? She tilted her head up so she could view the trees above her, staring back down at her was an owl, it gave a small hoot, then spread out its wings and flew into the night. She gave a long heavy sigh, then sat her self down on the uneven forest floor, hoping that prehaps someone would have heard her scream and come look for her.

It had been a long time since Neko had seen anything but sand, dust and the desert sun. She walked into the cool forest as the sun was setting. Out in front of her, she could see a lake that reflected the pinks and reds of the sky. She sighed. At long last, she could refill her canteen. She ran over and, dropping to her knees, dunked her head in. It was cold and she began to drink, not caring what had pooped, peed or done anything of the sort in it.

She raised her head and smiled as she lay back and stared at the sky.

After a while, her eyes began to droop. She curled up and was just letting herself close her eyes when, off in the distance, she heard a faint scream.

"What the hell?" She said as she got up and, picking up her bat, began walking towards the noise for she was very curious. It was in her nature.

"I just hope it's not bad."

The sky began to darken as a young man was sitting beneath a tree. He was making an attempt at entertaining himself with an acorn he had found on the ground, tossing it up into the air and catching it in a rhythmic manner. He had been in this forest for what seemed like hours, and still could find no indication of an exit. Kutsu slowly stood up, dusting himself off and tossing the acorn aside. He let out a disgruntled sigh and continued to trek through the forest, his mild frustration slowly giving way to anger.

"Squirrels...and trees. Squirrels, and trees. Squirrels and trees, squirrels and trees, all I see in this godforsaken place is SQUIRRELS AND TREES!!" He stopped and took a deep breath...'Surely this isn't the time to be having outbursts like that...', echoed a voice from within his head. 'I don't see you trying to help any.' He started walking again, kicking a small pebble out of sheer malice. He turned his head at the sight of what appeared to be water in the distance, and went to check it out.

"Well, at least it's not a squirrel or a tree." Kutsu quickened his pace as he made his way to what he now noticed was a pond. He was merely inches from the pond when a scream rang out in the distance. He stopped and turned his head in the general direction of the noise, wondering what was going on. He shrugged, and sat down by the water...whatever it was, it was none of his concern.

'One squirrel... two squirrels...' Yurina counted them one by one, smiling all the way at how happy they looked. Jumping from tree to tree with grace and confidence. The blue-haired girl kept on walking. She was on a hunt. A hunt to find a place to dance within this sacred forest. The dancer had been stuck in this forest for a good several hours. Not even stopping once to rest her delicate feet due to her determination. The wind picked up, gradually swaying the trees around her in a rhymic movement when her sapphire eyes caught something dropping from one tree.

With her quick movement of her wrists, she pulled out one silver dagger that reflected the remaining sunlight and threw it across her towards the dropping item before it falls to the ground. The weapon was stuck fast into the tree's trunk as the girl walked over to it and gave a sigh.

"Only an acorn..." Yurina muttered, "Why am I being so alertive~?" she asked herself as she giggled softly, pulling out her dagger with ease and placed it back into its original place. Then, the sound of water caught to her ears. She turned to the side to see a pond. The pond with crystal clear water was a simple to behold. With a smile on her face, she made her way there only to be caught in the water's ryhmn. Her feet froze at that right moment as it gave one long sweep to the side.

"I can hear it..." Yurina murmured as her other feet began to do its wonder. "The water's song~" the blue-haired dancer smiled as her hands rose up to join. She danced. She was dancing a slow movement of hands and legs combined to become one clearly relaxing dance where she slowly forgot her aching feet. Shutting her eyes, she continued to dance, near the water's edge. Her mind was to fully focused on her dancing that she did not hear the scream that echoed through the forest.

Kutsu plopped down near the edge of the pond and sighed. He didn't expect to find the exit anytime soon, so he might as well make the most of his experience here. He found himself staring at the reflection of the pond, taking note of the rhythmic progression at which the wind blew across the water, forming elegant ripples about the surface of the pond. He picked up a nearby pebble and with a flick of the wrist, skipped the small rock across the surface, tracking it's movements along the way.

"One, two, three, four hops...not bad, I guess..." As Kutsu watched the pebble skip across the water, something in the distance caught his eye. On the other side of the pond he could see what appeared to be a woman dancing. His gaze became fixed to this mysterious character, her slow and elegant style somehow causing him to relax and forget about the frustration he was going through. Who was this woman? He had a feeling he would find out soon enough...

Yurina kept on dancing. Unknown to her that a young man was watching her in the distance. Her hands reached down and slowly undid the cloth around her waist, holding at one edge of the blue cloth, she twirled it around obiviously dancing with it. A smile was placed on her supple lips as her eyes were still kept shut. The wind slowly picked up, magically blowing the dried leaves into the air, making them dance along with the blue-haired girl. As the wind blew the leaves upwards, Yurina's feet underneath seemed to be floating, her wrists flicking to the hidden rhymn in her head.

"Kaze no uta...(Wind's Song)" she mummured, her voice soft as the wind then died softly causing them to fall back to the ground where they belong. Then with one foot, she unnoticely stepped on a bunch of dried leaves. They crackled, making Yurina suddenly snap from her dancing gaze and lose her balance. Her other foot wanted to find a firm place to steady herself when she felt none. Her sapphire eyes grew wide open as she found herself slowly falling into the water.

Kutsu continued to watch this mysterious woman and her entrancing dance, mystified at her grace and fluid movement. It almost appeared to him as if she was dancing on thin air, with the wind and the leaves joining her in her majestic waltz. His gaze continued to follow he noticed her stop and plummet into the water. He stood up and looked in the water, scratching his head.

"Is she okay?" Kutsu, not wanting to have something happen to her while he was around, made haste to get over to the other side of the pond to assure himself that she was okay. He knelt down to the edge of the water and extended his hand, not even sure if he was in the same area as where she had fallen in.

Yurina opened her eyes underneath the water. She gave a slight pout at how silly she was to fall into the pond. With a few kicks of her delicate legs, she swam to the surface. Then Yurina squinted her eyes. Is that a figure she see by the water's edge? She was curious at that but the lack of oxsigen was making her head slightly dizzy. Quickly she swam upwards with all her might and reached it. Swinging her hair in a relieved motion, she gasped for air. A few deep breaths were taken when she calmed down and remembered the figure. The dancer turned and was shocked to see a hand extended out towards her.

Kutsu waited eagerly for the woman to return to the surface, hoping like hell nothing happened to her down there. Eventually, he saw her penetrate the water's surface, as he breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at her, then his outstretched hand, and suddenly felt very awkward.

"Errm...hi...don't worry, I won't bite..."

Yurina blinked when she heard hims speak quite arkwardly. The blue-haired girl, being a calm person she is, gradually grabbed his hand gently. With a smile and her head head tilted to one side, she replied, "Thank you~" her voice soft and angelic. Her eyes scanned his face, 'He doesn't like one of threat...' she thought, glad at that fact.

Kutsu smiled and gently pulled her out of the water. The initial shock of meeting a new person finally subsiding, he managed to quell the awkward feeling inside of him. "Glad to see you're safe...I'm Kutsu, by the way."

Yurina was pulled out of the water gently. She was glad that she was out of the cold pond but she sulked inwardly due to her wet clothes. Goodness one could see through them. The dancer blushed as she gingerly smiled and replied at his introduction, "Nice to meet you Kutsu, I'm Yurina." she finished off with a smile and a slight shiver.

"Nice to meet you Yurina." Kutsu smiled at the girl and pondered as to her current soaking wet situation. If he still had a jacket, he might be able to help her out. 'Well, she's gonna get sick if she stays in those wet clothes...', he thought to himself as he tried to come up with some way to remedy the situation. Suddenly, an idea hit him, but he quickly dismissed it, shaking his head.

"You must be cold in those wet clothes...I wish I could help you out with that but, I don't exactly carry spare clothes with me.." 'Come now, why not just warm her up?', a voice from within his head spoke. 'I'm not gonna light some girl I just met on fire.' He replied, finding himself having another heated debate with himself inside his mind. 'That's not what I meant you idiot. Warm her up, raise your body heat...you can be so stubbornly simple sometimes.' '...Shut up.' Kutsu silently pondered the idea, keeping his eye on Yurina whilst doing it.
