Alrighties, so since one of the "main tenant" of the Electronic/Rave scene is "PLUR (Peace Love Unity Respect)," we should at least help all the newbies out there understand what they're actually listening to.
Please don't post anything up yet, right now I'm just trying to see who will volunteer to do what. Then whoever wants to help them out, talk to them. When it's all done and decided, tell me, you guys can post up your thread, start writing it, people can discuss it.
The poll that I added was really to guage how we should deliver these posts. Should we make one master post as per what Schizophrenic Tendencies suggest ("The Electronic Forum's guide to 'Techno' ")? Or keep them all seperate such as "House Music 101," "Trance 101," etc. etc.
As soon as the ball gets rolling on these, I'll PM the Electronic Forum moderators and see if they can help us out with these, in maybe stickying a few of them or at least endorsing them (hey, it'd be nice to get some mods on your back razz ).
Anyways, discuss, PM me, and all that shite.
****EDIT****
p.s. Would you guys want me to create threads entitled "House" "DnB" "Trance" etc, and in there people could call dibs/nominate people, or would you rather have me do a master list in this post and just have Drum n' Base: Blah, Blah, and Blah, and then have people nominate/call dibs in this thread.

I think that separate threads should be made, at least at first, for each genre. Also, I get the feeling that calling dibs is a bad idea. I think that when the threads are being created it ought to be whoever has information and motivation should put stuff up, people argue about it, and then at the end, when people have stopped arguing, a mod should come and clean it up. Pandemonium actually seems like the best idea at this point.

Meh ******** it, I'm not going to pretend I'm organized.
We'll have mods come in and clean them up/I can if they don't.
Just create threads, NO DUPLICATES, I'll delete the deplicates. Whoever starts it has the job of compiling most of the information in the first post, maybe first few. Otherwise, people can discuss it, talk about it, proof read it, etc.

Oh, i have a dual vote.
Keep the threads seperate here...and then compile a master thread for the elec/indus forum on gaia. That way there is one thread, and its easier for the mods to manage and harder for them to get pissy.

Edit: Where's the other 101 threads guys? Where's Trance? Where's House? Where's Jungle and Breakbeat? Where's Downtempo, EBM, and Techno? And where's Experimental?

I agree with that idea, and since Nisori you called dibs on the House thread a little while back you should post one up wink .

p.s. If we do go ahead with the master list idea to post up in the Electronica forum I'll see if I can PM the mods of the forum and bug them itno stickying it.

By the way, this is mostly irrelevant, but there shouldn't be an apostrophe after 101. It is not a possessive, unless we're trying to imply that the threads belong to the 101.
It should be "____ 101s", not "_____ 101's"

I only did it because it was taking too long.
Techno is next unless someone does something fast. And I'm very prejudiced as to what constitutes "actual techno," which is only a small subsection of techno.
