The past day was splendid, and the lush grass was not even on that list. As the sun overhead continued to drop in the distance, the lands of continuous hills seemed to roll with streaks of gleaming gold, the strips of the dying sun that was allowing the moon to overtake its almight position as the overseer of the world.
Upon the darkened grasslands were two figures, both of the same kind, a female and a male. The light minty green lioness flicked her tail back and forth as a strip of embered color sunlight fell upon her coat, eyes glanced about as she chuckled, seeing the blazing colors on her golden markings; allowing them to shine in an almost celestial way. Ma'isah stopped and glanced behind to where Ezeoha had taken refuge. Was he...checking her out?
The thought made the lioness blush deeply, as she laughed and turned around, halting before her friend. A furrowing brow leveled in her own way, she spoke. "Ezzy, you have grown quiet." Her blunt words then suceeded with a warm smile as she swiped her paw on the grass and arched her back, stretching as most felines did. Her long tail flicked across the ground like a dying snake, as her emerald eyes set on the horizon. "Ezeoha, look!"
In the sky were thousands of stars; both large and small, bright and not so.
The young girl's eyes followed the ebony sky as the sun had completely set, leaving the two in the bitter cold of the night. Traveling was not easy, who ever said it was must have had something severely wrong with them. Shivering for a moment or two, Ma'isah turned her head to her new friend and grinned broadly at him, her humor taking approach once more. But there was something different in the night verse the day, especially in their travels. And that is when she knew. Never had Ma'isah spent the night with any lion or lioness in fact that was not her family, an odd pulse ran through her heart. That was not considered odd, correct? But ignoring this she kept thinking of her mother and father and how she would see Siltim and Yaten and Satinka...and wait. Wasn't Satinka pregnant last time she saw her, so they had children! Laughing cheerfully she shook her head and rose a paw, the feminine eyes gazing over the land.
As she looked over her shoulder, she paused and nudged Ezeoha, "So you still have not told me much of, thw wondrous life of Ezeoha, ruler of all. Hmm. And..." Pausing her eyes widened. "DID YOU JUST GROW!?" Seeing before her was an adult lion, with a golden coat and such a bronzed mane and tail, but those eyes, the same blood red. In shock Ma'isah stood there dumbfounded.

Ezeoha had, admittedly, been spying upon the view in front of him for a few good minutes. But once he had memorized that of which was so temptingly swaying in front of him he diverted his gaze to the landscape. After his close call with Ma'isah earlier he did not want to do anything that would upset her. He would not risk letting his eyes settle on her for too long, because at any moment she could turn back to him, catch his gaze, blush, and then abandon him for being a pervert. He wasn't one of those extreme perverts who took what they wanted, but they way he oogled at the way the yellow markings of Ma'isah's coat seemed to shine in the dying light hinted that there was some dark need inside of him.
"I tend to grow quiet when I am thinking. Besides, night is coming in and the landscape can be so utterly distracting when put underneath the dim light of night." He gave her one of his more charming smiles, managing to reassure her unvoiced thoughts that he had not been staring at her. Of course he had, but it was not a long enough time period to be considered important. But now that they were speaking again, his attention was most certainly upon her. The way she stretched her body was absolutely tantalizing him. He could see the muscles flexing underneath her clean and brilliantly colored pelt. She was unwittingly showing herself off to him, and it could make any male's hormones sky-rocket. Ezeoha prided himself on keeping that smile on his face, losing none of his composure.
His gaze was raised to the horizon, and his smile and his whole manner seemed to soften. The sky was beautiful, filled with those sparkling stars that reflected in both Ma'isah and his own eyes. They made beautiful patterns, making out the shapes of different creatures. But, he found himself thinking, the stars weren't as interesting as the female who was now gazing upon them with him. It was strange, the connection he was beginning to feel to Ma'isah. Something, he felt, had clicked, and now he was not with her in pursuit of reproduction, but because he just wanted to be near her, wanted to aid her in returning home.
"They are beautiful," he murmured, and then turned his attention back to Ma'isah. She was staring at him through widened eyes, and it made him quirk a brow upwards at her in curiosity. She appeared completely dumbstruck, and though it was amusing, her words dragged his attention to himself. He tried to see the change, but to him nothing was different. His mane may've become more full, and he may've developed larger muscles and bones, but nothing else was different to him. "Perhaps I have... But I really can't tell, so I'll just believe that from your expression I have grown somewhat in our time together."
He continued on with their discussion as if his growth was nothing important. Striding past her, continuing them on their way, he spoke out in his smooth, masculine voice. "I do not rule all, I rule over myself. But, my life has only been wonderous since recently. My family is not a close one, so you can imagine my childhood was a little strained."

Looking at the lion in a sense of awe, the young lioness followed closely as she juttered in the cool air. Why must the night be so chilling that is would rattle the poor femme's bones. As her emerald eyes seemed to twinkle in the star's view, such splendid things stars are. Somehow even though they are just gigantic balls of...light was it? They still held such mysterious in their own captivity. Soon after the history of stars replay in her head ended, the young lioness glanced up and back down. Just somehow the lingering thoughts of the unknown perked the interest of her, though it was a frightening thought to most it intrigued her very much so. As the moon soon rose above both of them, Ma'isah stretched her paws out on the grass and shivered.
Damn the cold air.
Looking up to Ezeoha her opaque green gaze filtered on his own as she rose a brow back at him and blinked. "You were...were...never mind." She laughed and hid her face, he had grown and she knew it. And by his appearance, he was very handsome now being all grown. Looking over him with a cautious gaze she laughed, "You know people will think you are a Teen-ophile." She teased and placed her paws on his head, over his mane and moved his head up and down, then side to side, in a sort of forceful noogie. How silly they were, it was an interesting pair.
Hearing him reply she burst out into hysterics and just nodded. Somehow him denying his title she gave him made her grin, it was good to hear another do that once in a while. Most would nod in agreement to anything and everything for Ma'isah to be able to shut her mouth for a second. "Oh I see, sorry to hear about your family.." Glancing downward the lioness then looked up and laughed. "How about this, I can be your family. I could be....you mommy! No, that wouldn't work. Your....Daughter. Well, a niece?" She giggled at her own humor as they walked about. Soon another heaving wind made Ma'isah's coat stand up and she knew that it was insane, quickly dodging behind Ezeoha she shivered and knew it wasn't working so she nudged her way next to him, and very close, but still shook in the cold. "A bi-bit chilly, eh?" She asked with a light chuckle. As her body rest against his, she closed her eyes and felt her body shake lightly once more, the cold was far too cold. And Ma'isah was one to handle anything along these matters. Flicking her paw to the soft ground she sighed out and turned her head to look up at the lion beside her.
He seemed content, did he notice the cold; was he just in his own eerie thoughts then?

He yelped as her paw rested on the top of his head and successfully gave him a noogie. He dug his back legs into the ground and pushed himself backwards and away from her unrelenting rubbing of his mane and head. But, with a laugh, he seemed to tell her that everything was alright, that he didn't mind the odd, friendly contact. Truthfully he had only escaped from her assault because his full mane was being made static-ky by her fur rubbing against it. "Let them think it, then," he told her with a wide, devious grin. "I will gladly take the title if I get to stare at you and all the slightly less prettier females in sight." Once again he was gently teasing her, simulatenously reminding her of her own beauty and complimenting her.
"It is alright, family is not always something that can be considered by blood." He had dismissed her hysterical laughter, simply because he had no idea of what had provoked it. Being clueless, the best way to handle the situation was to pretend that her laughter had not perked up any curiosity inside of him. "Oh, dear, you cannot be my family! I would not even consider pursuing a relationship with a family member. So no, darling Ma'isah, you are not going to replace the family I lost." Of course, he failed to realize that he had just admitted to wanted to pursue a relationship with her. He was just trying to get his point across that she would not become family in the sense of sister, aunt, neice, mother, or grandmother.
He felt her shivering body press against his, and he shivered as well, but not from the cold. It was cleverly masked as if he was cold, but just having her pressed to his side was a pleasurable feeling. There was just something so good in having her there, right by his side. "Quite, that is why I am keeping up this pace. You'll be warm as long as you keep moving, unless you want to stop for the night and lay down somewhere and cuddle with me while I'm not moving." Whenever he spoke about getting close to her, it was more than likely teasing, and this time it was.

A light chuckle escaped the small lioness, her body pressed to his as she rolled her eyes and let the wind hit her, the cool air felt horrid and yet pleasing at the same exact time, turning about in a half circle, her body then pressed against his once more. Somehow, Ma'isah needed the warmth of another, and he happened to be the other. As they walked through, her eyes watched his serious look. The female's body shook once more as she burried her muzzle against his side and made a light purr hoping to keep as much body heat as possible.
Eyes quirked upwards as he spoke and she felt an oncoming blush, but thankfully the wind hitting her face made it hard to see. "What if I only wanted you looking at me-....wait I didn't...that came out..all." Leaving it be she glanced down and hid her face from him, what was it that made her say such a thing, the thought of him staring at another? Was that it? But that never bothered her before, it still didn't. But somehow in that sliver of a moment, she felt that him with his eyes on other lioness' was a tragic sin on her own behalf. What an awkward thing to have said, how stupid. Lifting her gaze to his she ran her muzzle along his side jokingly to lighten the mood once more. It seemed to have taken an odd turn, as it always seems to. Resting her head on his side, her eyes shut as the cool air slapped on her fur, shivering was continuous through the walk. "And why is tha-" Pausing she heard him continue as she herself blushed this time hearing him actually admit his hopes of a relationship. That certainly made things a bit....off-easy. Looking at the lion, Ma'isah let her muzzle pull from his shortly. "What are you saying..." She asked in a concerned voice.
Still the night's air chilled through her bones; it is such a horrid sight to see when another is reaching a point of hyperthermia, but that was an exageration in their case.
"We should...keep walking...Sitting would.." Not continuing there was far too many thing sthat could have happened. Such as maybe he would make another move or perhaps they would realize things or even she would not want to get up because of the warmth of the ground and your parnter. Glancing to Ezeoha, she looked at him attentively.

He laughed as she tried to search for the right words to replace the ones that had came so unwillingly out of her mouth. Most creatures did not think before they spoke, and so he did not take seriously what she had said. If she regretted saying it, then it was simply something he should not dwell on. He would listen to the meaningful words that would come out of her mouth. Every creature was prone to mistakes, and if one only focused on the mistakes made then an unfair opinion would be made of the person they were judging. "It's alright, don't worry about it, I've forgotten what you have said." He then proceeded to reassure her with another charming smile.
The way her words spilled out of her mouth made Ezeoha suspect that she was uncomfortable, and desperately he searched through the memories in his brain, trying to find out what he could've possibly said to upset her so. Finally his mind settled on the words he had paid little attention to, and mentally he winced. Those words seemed as if he was ready for a commitment... as if he wanted something so very permanent with her.
It shocked him to realize that there was a little bit of him that wanted it.
"I am saying what I have said..." He sighed, suddenly finding it difficult to put into words what was going on in his mind. He'd just have to be blunt about what he wanted... and hope that she could handle the truth. "I am... a little interested in perhaps seeking out more with you. Do not get me wrong, it's not really lust... You make me smile, laugh, and generally feel good. I just feel a connection to that." And he left things as they were, deciding to let her make the decision making. All he had admitted to was feeling something that attacked him to her... something that made him want to search out more in her.
"Then keep walking we shall... Hmm, I'm not terribly used to travelling my own homelands in the dark. I'm a tad lazy, actually, and like to sleep quite a bit." He chuckled at this, trudging on ahead through the night.

Swaying as she walked, Ma'isah's eyes fell upon the dark figures ahead. Was it a rock formation? Smiling she still leaned against the male beside her. She had made a new friend and that was quite an accomplishment on her behalf. Seeing things and meeting people was a joy and yet somehow there was that familiar longing she felt to see her two brothers and two sisters. Well, sister now.
Shimah.
The name rung in her head as she shook it saddly, oh well as long as she was happy and well off in another pride, then she would accept it greatly with approval. Nodding as she was lost in her own thoughts, the small minty adolescent stalked the night with her fellow, ignoring her words she had spoke. It was a tip of the tounge kind of moment, nothing else. Turning her muzzle to him she shivered and looked out upon the clearing. "Is that...?" She paused, asking if what lie ahead was ther Pride Rock. It was far too dark, and what shone was but a simple shade. A figure of a tall ebony print against the already night sky.
Ma'isah stared blankly as she leaned over to the right, standing alone as she eyed the dark shadows, coudl it be....could she be home? Eyes widened in hope, maybe she was! Maybe she could see her family, oh how she longed to be in her mother's and father's hold. Jumping up and down she eyed the male and shifted a brow, her heart racing. "Is this it?!" She questioned, nearing him and eyeing him deeply her mind racing.
Siltim. Yaten. Satinka. Rami. Mama. Papa.
I'm home...

He let the air surrounding them be filled with a calming quiet. He was in no personal hurry to break the peace of the night, and with no words being spoken, it permitted him to focus on things with his other senses, and his two main senses at the moment were touch and smell. Ezeoha could feel the soft press of Ma'isah's body against his as they walked along, allowing their warmth to be shared. Ma'isah had a smaller, more delicate frame than he, and that meant quite a lot. Ezeoha would never be considered a large lion. He was a pretty boy, and would remain so despite his growth into adulthood.
His other sense came quickly into play, for as soon as he had become accostomed to the feel of her, his sense of smell took in her newly familiar scent. It was a little sweeter than the female he hung around most of the time, Chinara, but not so sweet that it was a tangy smell that would cause most lions to wrinkle their nose. No, it was a sweet scent, with a tiny amount of tangy-ness so that it took a minute to get used to, and to love. When he met up with her again, there would be no mistaking her for some other lioness.
Ma'isah's excited jumping around first caught his attention. He paused, turning his head to the side so he could c**k an eyebrow at her, silently questioning her need to be jumping around. At her question, his head once again turned, taking in the rock formation that lied ahead of them. His eyes squinted, body tilting forward to gather a closer observation of the rock. His eyesight was perfectly fine in the dark, but he could not gauge the distance between them and the rock, thus could not determine how large the rock formation really was.
"Perhaps," he said carefully, not ready to commit himself to the idea that what lied before them was Pride Rock. With delicate, light steps he once again continued to stroll forward. "The only way to find out is to get a little closer, correct?"

As she walked near him once more, her eyes rested on his. What was this male thinking of again, she rolled her emerald eyes and shifted her body as she jolted once more, her mind racing. Could this be?! Could it be the Pridelands? It was very dark, and possibly far too dark to even have a remembrence if this was their home. Oh the joy she woudl find seeing her family. Or even just her two close friends, Yaten who was like her father and Satinka. She shivered in all the excitement that traveled through her like a spark. Oh what joy she really would find. Really.
As she waited her eyes landed on the dark scenery, far too dark. Of course Ma'isah had grown accustomed to darkness after her travels with Shimah, everywhere was dark in that time and she did know every sound she had feared would no longer haunt her, in that time Ma'isah had grown a little bit of bravery, allowing part of her fears to escape her. Leaving her with her childish ways and love towards life. The carfree self-esteem was boosted after her travels. And in this, she learned her large and major value in life.
Family.
This was her way of living, to live in one with her family. MAybe in the future to have a family of her own, though that thought was far from her mind, way too far to even consider. Never did Ma'isah take time to think of having a mate as a goal in her life, the only thoughts was of her family and close friends, nothing else.
Most lionesses her age have some one to dawdle their attention on and long for, but she did not. INstead she spent her time worrying about her mother and father, and longing to see her siblings and best friend. Oh the torture. "Possibly it is...Maybe?"
