I've noticed that I almost exclusively look down at the ground when I'm walking around. My eyes are usually at least a little downcast even when surveying a room, so I can miss things that are right at "eye level." Apparently this is a fairly common trait among my friends, if not Aspies in general, so I was wondering if anyone else does it too.

yep, it's mainly because I'm always careful where I step incase I might step on something I don't want to be near, like ABC gum.

I do. Not sure if it's because of BPD or what. I just do NOT like making eye Contact. I stare at the ground quite frequently...

Yes, I do. My parents used to tell me not to do it because I looked like I was intimidated and meek. (I kind of am, but that's beside the point : / ). I often find myself looking at the ground when I walk because it's easier to watch the sidewalk go by than try to take in all the information that occurs at eye level, it's a bit overwhelming. It took me a long time to realise that is why I do this, as it's just a natural instinct.

I do. I proably do it because I feel intimidated, but I'd rather appear to be harmless than out for the fight of my life. >.>;

I used to do it, but not anymore. I'm built quite tough so when I'm out I watch others, predict where they're walking and just weave between them. Because of the way I look more often than not everyone clears out of my way now, it's quite cool.

It varies. I guess I do that sort of often. But sometimes I'm looking at the sky or the trees and the pretty leaves falling off of them here, because it's autumn.

It helps my posture, too...

Ah, I find myself staring up a lot, too. Especially in stores for some reason. But I really like to watch the sky... which is not so advantageous when driving redface Quote: It helps my posture, too... My posture is awful. I want to fix it but I really don't know how.

Yea, my posture is rubbish, but I can hold it well when I need to look smart. I just can't be bothered most of the time. It's the way I am, no use in hiding it if I don't need to.

I look down when I feel like I'm being watched. Otherwise, not so much.

I used to look down when I was younger. I've taught myself not to, though. 3nodding
