Mai HiME

Fuka Gakue is a unified school from primary through senior high school. In Fuka Gakuen, there was a rumor that a mysterious monster appeared, and that the only counter measures for the monster were girls called HiME. They have abilities of HiME (Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment).

Mai was a transferred and she didn't know the rumor. However, she was suddenly told her she had the power of a HiME. After facing a few problems, she learns to live her life as a HiME.

Feel Free to discus the anime, but please do not post spoilers unless you put "spoilers:" and then the spoiler in white. Please do not ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet!

Akira Okuzaki: Akira, who disguises herself as a boy to hide her HiME abilities, is Takumi's roommate. She tries to maintain a tough exterior, but soon grows to care for her roommate. Her child is Gennai.

Alyssa Searrs: Alyssa is a musical protégé, with the best singing voice in the Academy. She often practices at the Church.

Director Mashiro: Little is known about Mashiro, other than she's the handicapped Director of the Academy who seems to be in charge of finding HiMEs and bringing them here to fight. Very few of the HiMEs trust her, since she never quite reveals the big picture, but she has a bigger role to play in by the end.

Haruka Suzushiro: A Student Counsel member, Haruka isn't bright enough to realize what's going on around her and often provides comic relief. She constantly feels others don't take her seriously and that she must prove herself - particularly to Shizuru, who she wishes would view her as an equal. Her best friend is Yukino.

Ishigami: Head of the art department at the Academy, Ishigami seduces (and eventually manipulates) Sister.

Mai Tokiha: Mai is the older sister of Takumi, who has been sick since he was younger. Because of that, she's sacrificed a great deal to make sure she can pay his doctor bills, though the stress sometimes gets to her. She's a caring girl, always ready to look out for others, sometimes even at the expense of her own feelings. A HiME, Mai's child is Kagutsuchi, which she has difficulty controlling.

Midori Sugiura: Midori worked at the same restaurant as Mai until she decided she must quit to pursue her career. A HiME, Midori seems to be the only one to accept wholeheartedly the mission of HiMEs - to keep the world safe from Orphan. Later, Midori becomes a subsitute teacher at Fuuka Academy. Her child is Gakutenou.

Mikoto Minami: Mikoto is a cat-like HiME who loves Mai's cooking. She's on a quest to find her long lost brother and often wishes people would treat her as if she wasn't so young. Her child is her sword, Miroku.

Miyu Glea: Miyu is the caretaker for Alyssa Searrs and helps out at the Church. She rarely gets involved in the affairs of her classmates, choosing to spend all her time with Alyssa. Mai envies their relationship.

Nagi: Not much is known about Nagi, other than he seems to be one of the masterminds behind this HiME vs Orphan game. He often pops in unexpectedly to impart some critical piece of information to the HiMEs, but he never fights. He obviously has an agenda, but no one is quite certain what that might be. For the most part, he and Mashiro seem to be allies, but the extent of their relationship is unknown.

Nao Yuuki: Nao has decided to use her HiME powers to her advantage and often attacks unsuspecting males on the street late at night. A selfish girl loyal only to herself, Nao remains a loner intent on doing what's best for her regardless of other considerations. Her child is Julia.

Natsuki Kuga: No nonsense, Kuga, has made it her mission to prevent other HiME's from attending Fuuka Academy. Up until the 4th episode, she also had quite an impressive underwear collection. Kuga's child is Duran.

Reito Kanzaki: Vice President of the Student Counsel at Fuuka Academy, Reito is extremely popular with the girls. He is extremely responsible and maintains a calm and gentlemanly demeanor in all situations, though often it seems he knows more than he lets on. In later episodes, he develops a crush on Mai.

Sakomizu: Sakomizu is Natsuki's go to guy whenever she's seeking inside information. He can often be found tending the Academy's garden, but occasionally shows up to save Natsuki.

Shiho Munakata: Yuuichi's childhood friend, Shiho is immediately jealous of the attention he throws at her. Unfortunately, Yuuichi doesn't share her feelings and thinks of her as a little sister.

Shizuru Fujino: As Student Counsel President, Shizuru commands a lot of respect at the Academy. She often sits in for Mashiro in sponsorship meetings. She comes off as playfully mischievous, adding a hint of sarcasm in just about everything she says as if she knows the Academy's secrets. Her best friend seems to be Natsuki.

Sister Yukariko: Until her HiME powers are revealed, Sister is a pious member of the Church at the Academy. Later in the series, she falls in love and begins to question her beliefs.

Takeda: Takeda is captain of the Kendo club with a crush on Natsuki. Unfortunately, he runs into her at the most awkward moments. He also used to be good friends with Tate, when he was on the team in junior high.

Takumi Tokiha: Mai's younger brother, Takumi has been sick for most of his life. He hates always making her worry about him, and rooms with HiME-in-disguise, Akira.

Yukino Kikugawa: Yukino is the sidekick and best friend of Haruka. She's a shy girl who will do pretty much anything Haruka asks. Her child is Diana.

Yuuichi Tate: Yuuichi is a boy in Mai's class who once was good at Kendo until he hurt his leg. He seems to like Mai, though she is respectful of Shiho's feelings for Yuuichi and keeps her distance.
