Yep!!! The last thing I heard was that Pi was going to go solo, due that some of the members of the band were cut drinking >.<
Also he was with Kame (KAT-TUN) in Shuuji to Akira for their drama Nobuta wo Produce ^_^

no they are not retiring. . they are just taking a break. . due to uchi's and someones elses drinking problem. . from what i heard they were drunk in the park. . got caught. . they should be coming back next year. . in may or somewhere near there. . if they still want to. . yamapi is doing solo crap right now. . a drama. . how fun. .

yea... and then yamapi went into GYM with thai golf + mike... THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!...tegoshi's gotten cuter... i must admit... can't wait until they com back! heart heart

This thread appears to be really old, so it's my honor to revive it!!
Let me clear up some stuff about NewS for you all~!!
Okay, so the original grouping was:
Tomohisa Yamashita
Ryo Nishikido
Keiichiro Koyama
Takahisa Masuda
Shigeaki Kato
Yuya Tegoshi
Hiroki Uchi
Hironori Kusano
Takahiro Moriuchi
Well, sometime in the very beginning that Takahiro guy left to focus on his studies. So, I can't really even consider him as contributing much to the band.
Then around summer of 2005 Uchi was caught underaged drinking, and he was kicked out. Though, he did not get kicked out of the Jimusho, just demoted to a 'trainee' aka junior.
In January 2006 the same was the case for Kusano. He too was demoted to junior status. (That's rather embarassing, but I still really like him. Look up his solo 'She Is All Mine' ^ __ ~)
NewS went on hiatus for a bit, while the other members worked on their own stuff. Yamapi was in various dramas, Ryo had Kanjani8 stuff, and Tegoshi and Massuda formed a group called Tegomass that produce a few songs. (Check them out, they're really awesome too!!)
Thankfully at the turn of the new year in 2006, NewS was back in buisness!! Of course, it was then, and still is:

I still haven't really listened to their music, but since I've started watching JDramas, I've seen Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa) in many shows and I love him so much. xD
His solo work is pretty good, so I'll have to check out the group's music sometime. 3nodding
