Rupert was busy tampering with some old machinery to see if he could salvage any parts. He realised that no one had needed his assitance in quite a while, and was wondering how the villians and heros of Gotham aquired there gadgets and gizmos. Inside the machine he found a weird vial. Which he pondered over. He decided to keep it and put it in a cold containment room for now. He realised that the machinery was impossible to salvage.
He slumped down in his chair and closed his eyes. He wonddered why nobody had come to him, they nearly always need him before...

There was sudden tapping on the door to Rupert's office.
Robin was outside wondering if Rupert was there or not..he check a scrap of paper in his hand with his adress on it...he then knocked again harder this time.
"Dr Rupert!!..are you there?" he called.

"Come In" Rupert shouted through the door, finally someone had come to see him. He was very excited about the whole thing he nearly through threw his desk up in the air.

Robin opend the door hearing the familiar voice and walked in smiling...and held out his hand to shake.
"Hey Dr Rupert!!...glad I was able to catch you before it got too late!....are you busy with anything important?" he asked eyeing the jumple of parts on his desk.

Robin shuffled his feet and looked up at the ceiling.
"well...if its not too much trouble....I am in need of somthing special" he paused and looked down at his feet.
"I am wanting to get Batman somthing really cool for christmas.....and well...thats why I came here...since I know your so great at whipping up some fancy gadgets"

Rupert pondered. "Well, I'm guessing you want something compact yet with many capabilities."
He paused for a few seconds, Then all of a sudden his eyes widened.
"I've got it, I will have to get working on it straight away."
He opened his desk drawer and took out a screwdriver.
He looked up at Robin "Will tomorrow be okay?"

"That would be perfect!!!....um how much is this gonna cost me?"
he said leaning forward on the desk wondering what Rupert had in mind...and could hardly wait to see what he would come up with.

"Oh...right!" Robin said his face blushing a bit as he stood up from leaning into the Doctors desk and headed for the door..."and remmeber if Bats happens by......you never saw me!"

"Bingo."
As soon as Robin left Rupert began to work.
He had thought of an idea a very brilliant idea.
He worked on it for hours, making templetes, and cutting out pieces of metal, and filling it with gadgets and things that would dazzle but also destroy.
Finally around 9 am Rupert fell asleep on his desk from exhaustion.

"Hey Ruppie ol' buddy," Harley said as she glumly walked into the mans lab room, and gently shook the inventor.
"You awake?" she asked pulling up one of his eye lids to try and rowse the lab tech.
"Why don't I pour ya some coffee," she said rather down heartedly, and found a test tube bubbling to the brim with the juice of the freshly brewed bean.
