Story

Six Powerful elemental powers, hundreds of years ago saved the world from total destruction. Darkness threatened the very existence of the planet. Water, Fire, Light, Wind and Earth, fought against the Dark. The darkness was too powerful to destroy, the elementals had no choice but to seal it away. As they did this, they were also sealed away. Six different weapons now hold the powers of the elementals and the power of the evil that almost destroyed the Earth.

The weapons were locked away throughout the continent. The sword of Fire, the daggers of Water, the mace of Wind, the bow of Earth, the staff of Light and the katana of Darkness all rested for hundreds of years.

It is now the present, the elemental weapons now only a legend. Until, the Katana of Darkness was stolen and released its power across the land. Causing destruction and chaos throughout the continent. The other weapons have now been resurrected and wielders have been chosen. They must have the strength, bravery and purity to wield these weapons, and the unique charateristics that harbor within them.

Will the elemental powers, survive once again? Or will chaos, destruction, and darkness triumph.

Amara rested her head into the v shape her hands formed. Her belly pressed lightly on the rock that she was laying on. A large glimmering stream swept its place in front of her, as its gentle sounds reached her slightly pointed ears. The alrge green suit, and tunic of her elven heritage tightly clung to her tiny body.

She flung herself up into a sitting position, and stretched her arms high above her head as if reaching to touch the clouds. She yawned deeply, as she flung her legs over the edge of the rock. She braced herself as her feet slid into the soft blades of grass. Her movements were swift and didnt make a sound, her body seemed to float towards the stream her dark wavy hair flowing behind her.

She peered over the edge of the stream, a reflection of her thin face shone back at her. Her deep green eyes pierced the stream before her, and her pale face didnt seem to match. Her face was small and slender, she had high cheekbones that framed her face, and her pointed chin and ears, made her a distinguished elf.

She rose to her feet, the wildlife being pretty boring to her today. "No even a single peep froma crow" She murmured to herself as she started to move towards her clan of elves. She thought for a second ' This isnt good, a quiet forest, is a dangerous forest' She stopped moving and closed her eyes, listening intently and sure enough, there really was not a peep. "Something is wrong" She sadi to noone in particular as she continued to walk, more alert now. She ahd to reach her village, she had to protect herself, something wasnt right, and she did not have her bow and arrow to protect her. She ahd made it herself a long time ago, she was inspired by the tales of the Legendary Hero who wielded the Bow of Earth,a dn triumphed over evil. She wanted to be like that hero, adn trained very hard. Now, she was the most skillful bowman in her clan.

She was almost there now, a few more feet through the errie silence and she should hear the bustling of her people, the mimicking of their words, the hushed voices of the gossip, it should all be reaching her ears soon. The familiar sound, her ears pounded, straining to hear the beautiful sound sof her people, the beautiful sounds that will reassure her survival, but they never came.

Amara reached her village, shocked at what she saw. Nothing.. everything was dmeolished, burnt destroyed. Nothing weas left, noone was there. The smell of burnt wood and burnt flesh filled the air. Anger and tears started welling up inside of her as she fell ahrd to her hands and knees. "What si the meaning of this!" She screamed in agony, pounding her fists into the once lush grass. Black residue of ash, covered her hands, and flew into the air around her. They burnt her eyes, but she did not care. She jumped ot her feet and ran through the once beautiful village, ashes flying around her. "who could have done this, What do you want?" She fell to the ground, the tears still coming, seeming to never end. She opened her eyes, and saw two large black shoes in front of her. She looked up to see the strangers face, but her bodty couldnt take it anymore, and she slumped forward, as the figures appearance seemed to get more and more blurry his face distorting until she saw nothing but darkness.

Kurt's eyes flew open. It was midday and he was having a decent nap when he suddenly felt a slight pressure in his chest. The elders always said that when you get that sort of feeling it means something is happening to someone close to you. He glanced around for his clan members and friends who were also napping in the shades of the trees. None of the others seemed to be in trouble or otherwise bothered in any way. Kurt looked to the bright blue sky briefly and closed his eyes once more as his and rested on the hilt of his trusted blade. He hated to think that a friend was in danger and he couldn't help them. He once again fell to sleep but this time it was only a slight sleep. as if his mind was as ready to unsheathe itself from the hilt of dreams as his sword was.

Arlene yawned and stretched her arms up as high as they could go. She got up from her feather bed and walked out into the warm sunlight. Everyone seemed to be up already, she joined them around a warm fire and took a plate of breakfast for herself. "Hey Arlene." Said a blonde hair blue eyed boy of about 19. "Hi Logan." She said smiling widely.

Logan was the boy that Arlene was supposed to marry, they were promised for each other. They were both the most promissing children of their clan. Arlene really liked Logan but she didn't think he was the one. The angel believed that love was all about being with the one you really loved. She just couldn't bring herself to settle for anything less.

"How are you this morning?" Logan asked taking a seat beside her. "I'm fine." She gave him a grim smile, "And yourself?"

"Good." Arlene could tell how hard he was trying to win Arlene's love. "Excuse me." Arlene said to Logan. The angelic girl walked over to the elder of the clan. "Mailith, can I talk to you?"

"Of course my child, what is it?" The old women was tiny and wrinkled, but she was the most respected person in her village.

"I want to go travelling and see the world."

"What about Logan, you are betrothed."

"I know, but I don't feel I can settle down untill I see more of the world. Please let me go, it would mean the world to me." She said practicly begging on her knees.

The old women thought for a moment, pondering her answer. "You may go, but only for 3 months. That is all, after that you must marry Logan. It is your destiny."

The angel then left and began packing her things for travel. When she was done she silently left so Logan wouldn't catch her before she left. The girl didn't know where she was going or what she was going to do, but she just felt she needed to meet new people and expierence things other than life in the village.

Amara came to slwoly, her hair matted to her forehead, her body covered in darkness from the ash. Her head pounded, as if her brain was about to explode. Amara looked around until the horrific accident hit her once again. Instead of tears, she grimly clenched her jaw, knowing now that what she had witnessed was not a dream. Revenge and distaste filled her body and she quietly vowed to find who made her can perish, and find who caused her this suffering, and make them pay.

She pulled herself from the ground slowly, and walked through another gap of tress, to see what had become of her house, her home, her family. She parted a few branches and without shock she saw what was ahead of her. The remnants of her memories, her belongings, her home. She ran towards what was left of her home, pawing through the ashes to find her bow, her arrows, anything, that could protect her from what was out there. She came across the large box, within the walls that stood in her home. A box that was not familiar, a box that seemed unharmed and truly unmistakably old.

She cupped the box under her arm. Her bow and arrows nowhere to be found. Without hesitation she ran farther behind her house, to where the rest of her family lived. As if guessing it, there was only gray coverings in the area. Noone had survived, she searched the town head to toe, and found nothing. No survivors, no belongings, only black ash and the box that was safely tucked underneath of her arm.

Shaking her head, she left the area. She had one goal in mind, find whoever did this to her family, find the reason, could it be what was in the box. Was the contents of the box what was being sought by the murderers who decapitated her clan. Was she holding the very thing that caused hundreds of her closest beings to their death. She reached a large clearing, that was streaked with the sun rays. Hesitantly she sat downa nd placed the large box on the ground in front of her. She looked closer at the artifact.

She brushed the case off, it seemed unworn and well treated. Gold trim lined the box and a single grren leaf protruded from the top of the case. The marking of the Early Elves. This was definately her ancestors belongings. The case seemed to be sealed tight, but there was no lock in sight. Amara did not know how such a box could possibly be opened. She reached for it and turned it around many times, until coming to the final conclusion that there was no way to open the box, all that was present was a small line around the center. Confused Amara sat in the large field, glancing at the box intently.

SHe had heard stories of such an artifact. Sealed by magic by the powerful wizards of the past. Never meant to be opened, unless desired by the souls who locked it away. She sighed, wondering if she would ever see what remained of her village. Giving up on the contents she grabbed the box, placed it back under her arm, and trudged forward only her heart telling her where to go.

Arlene began her 3 month journey, out to discover the wonders of the world, and maybe even meet some new people. But just as the adventure was about to begin her heard a voice, "Arlene! Wait Arlene, don't go!" It was Logan, Arlene frowned and stopped. "Logan, please, just go, I promise I will be back." She said turning around to face the distraut man. "I will come back." Arlene gave him a reasuring smile. "Okay. Go, just one thing before you do." He planted a passionate kiss on her lips and turned back to the village. That was Arlene's first kiss, it was good. She just stood there stairing at the village, but soon came to her sences. "I must keep going, if I don't, I will never know what's out there." So then she really began her journey.

Melanie slowly wakened to the sounds of the waterfall outside of her cove which she was residing in. The rough rock grated against her back as she sat up. She had been wandering for a while, and she didn't miss her 'home' if anything it was still the opposite.
For a momet, she felt a slight tug at her heart as she thought of the other sirens. It was trying to pull her back, but she disregaurded it. She didn't belong there. She let her power control the men around her, while the others used it like a curse. It is suppose to be enjoyed, she thought bitterly. Melanie gave a small smile as she slowly walked around the waterfall feeling the small droplets of water hit her body.
It was time for her to continue her journey, she didn't know where she was suppose to go, but she wasn't ment to stay. A cloud of smoke rose out from the dense forest, and Melanie headed towards it hoping for someone to talk to. Someone for once that would actually care for her.

Amara trudged further through the forest. With every step their was a new question unanswered a new patch of hatred burning inside of her. She was going to make whoever did this to her family, her friends, her village suffer.

She came across a large lake, the lake she and her friends swam at. She peered into it, hoping that she would see her friends images behind her smiling, laughing at the prank they just pulled. She knew however that that was a dream and wouldnt happen.

She curse dunder her breath and set the box on the ground next to her. She then dipped her hands into the cool liquid washing off her hands, and then pouring the water up her arm, until they also were ash free. She couldnt bare it anymore, she stood up and jumped into the lake. She wanted all the filth, all of it to be gone from her skin, her body, her clothes. She dunked herself underwater, and rubbed her clothes and skin until all of the ash was from her body.

After she was done, she pulled herself out of the lake, and crawled to the grass where the black box lay. She had the urge to throw that in the lake as well, throw it as far as she could, throw all of her pain and misery away. She couldnt. She would live with this tragedy forever. Until, until she found who was responsible.

Morgan landed just near a river from a high cave entrance above. “Finally” he spoke smiling broadly with satisfaction while he gazed over the katana of darkness he held out before him. Just the mere sight of it felt to give him more strength, the strength he deserved for a long time. Finally achieving the artifact he had thrived to hold for so long Morgan felt the sudden urge to try it out on something, someone, anything. He was the most powerful person of this world, was he not? The darkness of the blade already freely consuming his dark heart.

Just over the distant trees Morgan could see the brief puffs of smoke from a near by village hidden amongst the trees. He smirked knowing it was perfect and made his way there quickly. With his natural speed and stealth Morgan approached the village in no time at all and completely unnoticed as well. Morgan stood at the village edge for a moment admiring the peaceful aura it emanated. But then again it just made the idea to wreck it even more satisfying.

Morgan pulled the katana from its sheath and held the blade out straight from his side. Excitement burned in his eyes while the same wicked smirk existed upon his lips when he pulled the weapon down diagonally. A warp of swarming energy penetrated the air and flew quickly into the town to demolish a building when it connected.

Silence reaped the village when the single building blew up before the peaceful village was thrown into chaos. More buildings where destroyed by the massive dark power of the katana and its wielder. Morgan seemed the least bit disturbed by the destruction of buildings and lifes alike as he rushed through the village finding some new area to test his new found abilities.

The village was nearly half knocked down and burning to ashes by the time he reached the heart of the village. At this point Morgan was forced to stop in his tracks since the village men had finally surrounded him.

“Stand where you are.” A man called out as a few of them drew back bows loaded with arrows.

Morgan’s smirk still remained as his once dark brown eyes reflected golden from the light of the flames in the village. “Stand where I am? Sure…” Dark clouds had started to swirl above the village, above Morgan. Strange weather perhaps as the clouds flashed with bursts of lightning although strangely no thunder followed. “Am I standing still enough?” He asked mockingly just before a flash of lightning came down from the sky above blinding the village in its destructive energy. As the light faded everything and everyone, besides himself, within the immediate area had disintegrated into the fine black ash that coated the ground.

Morgan remained still for a moment looking over the destruction he had caused. The memory of the power he had just used felt sweet still with its lingering taste. He then heard foot steps drawing near and turned in the direction surprised to know anyone could have possibly survived. A woman with brown hair and green eyes suddenly rushed out obviously weary and confused. He watched her for a moment as she ran with no literal destination before falling to her knees and screaming "Who could have done this, What do you want?" at his feet. She matched his cold gaze for a moment before she fell unconscious.

Morgan stood there a moment staring at the woman. He thought for a moment to end her life right there and then, but instead felt the grief she would feel upon waking up to be plenty enough to fill his dark will.

“Sleep well, angle” we spoke before turning to leave "since that will your peace for a long while." Morgan allowed his sights to grace the destroyed area before he would continue. He knew there was plenty more the katana of darkness was capable of. He simply needed to learn how to use it fully. This knowing of more power filled his stomach with excitement so he was off to find a location to practice.

Melanie heard a splash of water as she left the large cool lake. She turned around, and she saw an elf lying on the grass holding a black box, like a child would hold a security blanket. She walked back, hoping that the elf could help here, "where's the next town?" Her voice was blunt, and unused for so long it came out harsh and demanding.
Once again, she felt a small tug at her heart, telling her to leave the elf and go on, but her mind told her to stay. The elf had what she wanted, knowledge and most likely some food. Strangly, Melanie felt no call in herself to be cruel to the elf, or at least yet. The elf's features were drawn into a broken face, mixed with sadness and anger. Why would she hurt someone who couldn't be affected by her power? Or at least right now.

Morgan walked out from the tree line of the forest into an open meadow to catch sight of the sun as it sank lower into the horizon. Brilliant reds and yellows painted the empty sky to show the peaceful evening that lay ahead. There was no need to rush into practicing nor was there any need to hurry on while the night time stood patiently in the wake of the day.

Morgan withdrew the sword of darkness and slashed the near by branches of a tree for fire wood. The ancient blade was still as sharp as if were new, Morgan took note of as he resheithed the blade and gathered the wood to prepare the campfire for the evening.

Darkness claimed the surroundings quickly although Morgan easily sat within the presents of the warm camp fire with a bit of bread in hand for supper. There was a lot on his mind as he stared out into the open sky filled with the stars light and the sliver of a moon. He thought of what he was yet to learn about the blade he did not learn from books. What his plans were for the future. Even the concept of who would be in his path to intervene with his plans. Morgan sighed and leaned back onto the cool green grass. Surely the remaining five elemental weapons would be found and choose their next wielders to disturb his future plans.
A Pitty though Morgan thought The future looks to be so divine while in my hands. A smirk tweaked his lips as he rolled over to one side pulling a blanket over himself to keep warm for the night, even after the campfire burned out.

Clyde grunted, Lifting up yet another box. He swung it up so it was balancing on one of his broad soulders and awkwardly headed out the door of his uncle Jordan's old shop.
Once outside, he gently laid the box on the cart, already stacked high with other boxes, all awaiting the time when everything was finally packed, and the moving would begin.
"Clyde?" A voice called from the village. "Hey!"
Clyde turned to look at the speaker, It was Rona Eastward, a short, blond, bouncy girl he had always been friends with. "Hey Ro!" He responded. "I thought you were supposed to be at your grandmothers?"
"I was." She answered. "But it was boring, so I left" She stuck out her tongue.
Clyde rolled his eyes. "You know how worried she'll be..."
Rona laughed. "Worried as a rock. Do you have any idea how much she drank this morning?"
"Prolly more than I have all week!" Clyde answered. "But really, whats up?"
Rona looked down and scuffed a worn shoe in the dirt. "You could see right through me eh?"
"Call it womens intuition."
"Your a man Cly."
"Lemme check."
Rona swatted Clyde goofily, like they always did, and then sighed. "So you really are leaving then?" She asked quietly.
Clyde rubbed a hand on the back of his neck, a gesture showing he was insecure. "Yeah.... I mean... We have no way of paying off the debts Uncle Jordan owes so... I guess we do. I mean. I hate to leave but..." He trailed off, Unsure of what next to say.
"But its your duty." Rona said almost bitterly.
"Yea--uh--no! No! Thats not it at all!" He said shocked and a little surprized. He looked at Rona and saw that a tears was sliding down her cheek. "Aw, Ro, don't cry!" He uncomfortably put a hand around her shoulder. "I'll Come back. Don't worry!"
She looked up at him. "But why do you have to go? Why Can't Jordan leave on his own! Why can't you stay here. With me!" At her last words, her face turned bright red, and she covered her mouth. "Thats -- er..."
Clyde looked at her, surprized, then hugged her tight. "Rona... you could have... said something..." He paused. "But I have to go. Jordan can't handle himself, and you know it. I mean... he's like... 80 remember."
Rona sniffed. "I know. And I know you have to go but... Just..." She trailed off and reached into the big bag she always carried with her. She pulled out a box, Beautiful and smooth, made of some dark-colored wood. Taking the box in both hands she shoved it at Cylde. "Take it!" She tearily demanded. "Its a going away present."
Clyde looked at it. The box was mysterious almost, dark and secretive. "What IS it?" He asked, taking it gently from Rona.
"A precious gift. Open it when you feel you must, but not right away. And promise you'll come back!" She looked at him, her green eyes red from tears, and yet still defiant and strong.
"I promise." Clyde said to her.
From the cart, Uncle Jordan called to him "Come on boy, time to go!"
"Coming! Clyde called. and then turned back to Rona. "I'll Come back for you, when we're all settled alright? And we'll work thing out ok? Wait for me?"
"I will." She said. "I will"
Clyde nodded and then leaned down and kissed her softly. His face turned bright red and he back up. "I'll be back Ro!" He called, and then ran to the waiting cart, and jumped in.

Amara clung tightly to the box, the only thing remaining from her village. She layed on the gorund keeping it close to her body. SHe started to shake, as the emotions swelled inside of her. Almost instantly her muscles tightened and her ears twoitched as she heard someone approaching. She heard them for a little while, and noticed they were coming closer.

Her jaw tightened, was it him? The one she faintly saw, the hazy face of the man she pursued, but as the figure came closer she realized it was ayoung lady, definatly not capable of such horrors. She almost laughed at the voice that came form her young throat. Almost old, gruff and well.. not feminine, not beautiful. Still Amara kept her guard.

Amara looked at her and a corrupt smile spread across her face. She stood up and faced the beautiful girl. "Used to be in that direction" SHe said as emotion filled her voice. "But it is no longer there, and never will be again" She closed her mouth,a little dissapointed in herself for letting her emotions show, letting her weakness get the better of her. Escaping from the sharp tug in her stomach she stood up straight. "Im heading to the next town." She turned back towards her box, and bent down to pick it up and placed it back under her arm, where it belonged, as she started towards the next village, she was going to leave the forest, and she probably would never return. Either her hunt for this man was going to kill her, or she would die trying.
