okay, i will be your instructor today, so listen up because i will only say this once...
almost all dogfighting skills apply here, so if you havent reviewed those, do so know...
now, like i said, almost all skills apply here, but there are some key differences. one of the main ones is handling. bombers are genearlly heavyer, and slightly less manuversble thant heir fighter counterparts, so if you find yourself in a dogfight , let your support fighters handle what you cant, and try to stay to the objective.
that being said, i shall also point out that most bombers have two seats, one for the pilot and one for the navigator, who's duty is to plot a favorable bombing line, manage communications, and also uses remote bubble guns on the rear end of the ship, if it has any. the pilot only focuses on flying the ship and the main guns, as well as the bombing itself.
and for all you fighter pilots who dont use any auxillary systems, they are a total must here. right now most of you need a computer to time the bomb release so you do maximum damage, and also to factor in gravity, speed, and rate of descent, which only applies if there is a large mass that is significant enough to affect the bomb

now, to get into the flight aspect... from launch , most bombers have support fighters to make up for their lack in fighter-fighter combat. las i said nemorous times befor, remeber your fighter training, and follow your instincts. however, one diffrence is that, on a planetary bombing[your bombing something on a planet] you will want to stay as close as humanly possible to the surface, but leave some leverage, just incase of a complication. that being said i should remind you of the weight, and ho it decreases your ability to pull up as fast as a ordinary fighter. so ,basically, avoid doing stuff thats hard, even in a light fighter... like say, going crazy fast down a jagged canyon

other than what i have stated, there is nothing really to flying a bomber, but remeber, leave some leverage, if possible. you are strapped to kilos of explosive plasma[among other things] and the chances of surviving a bober crash are wayyyy less than that of a fighter. and keep thoses auxillary systems on!! i cannot stress that enough...

im gettin to that. had to find the time... and jad told me to do a ship overveiw first... well, like you said , attacking missile silos and army bases are quite the challenge, but if you have proper tactics, it can be made simple... first, for missile silos, you may want to use an E.M.P. however, remeber that the higher you activate it, the bigger the blast radius.... and dont forget to shut down your systems!!! i have seen way too many rookie pilots activate the E.M.P. prematurely, thus disabling their ship, causing sure death... my favorite tactic when dropping said E.M.P. is to "fling it" in the desired derection, the flystraight up *you may want to max out your inertial dampers for that one* ,shut down the whole ship, activate the E.M.P. then while fre falling, activate the ship, and drop the bomb during the dive... military installations , well it depends on the type... bunkers require something with a little boost, [rocket propelled bomb] but most others are easyer...

now, for you fighter purists, heres an important job for you. you have to defend your bomber. so you serve as escort. the most classic, and probably most effective formation is two fighters aranged in a v, both hanging back, one on each of the bomber's wings, much like an arrow head formation. [yawns] well, time to brake, be back soon for the remainder of training...

lincvg what about assalts on well deafed areas like missle silos and army bases That is usually done by dive bombers or multi-role fighters. Bombers typically just don't have the speed or maneuverability for such missions. One other thing, bombers, particularly large ones, typically have longer flight times than fighters. Of course, an empty one can fly longer than a loaded one, that's just common sense. 3nodding Sorry for interrupting sweatdrop
